Intro:
Back when Earth was in peril, Antary had a choice to make. He could go there, into the fray, jump between the punches and energy blasts, and try to change something. Chances are, he`ll die. And in his death, there will be nothing that helps the situation. He trained, but to prepare himself for a threat this powerful, it would take a lot more. He lacked the dedication that Nam and Zach both had. It was their planet. They grew up here, they will defend it with all they`ve got.
But Antary is an intruder. He is an alien on this planet, no history or attachment. It was a beautiful and peaceful planet, but he didn`t spend enough time here to give this world everything he`s got. He couldn`t sacrifice his life for it. Maybe that`s the reason why his power level is so different from the other earthlings – he was simply not dedicated to the cause. He lacked the resolve. He thought that if he protects this planet, protecting Vegeta will be even easier. But fighting for aliens he had never seen before, even if they resemble the saiyans so much, is just not the same.
Antary became strong over the he time spent on Earth. Countless times stronger than when he arrived. But at the same time, he became weaker. On this planet, everything was so… Easy. Everyone was friendly. Everyone respects you and doesn`t expect anything from you unless you specifically ask them to do otherwise. It was unique to the saiyan, as on his homeworld he knew nothing but battles for survival, constant hunger, and even through all that, he was expected to be strong. Not just that, he was expected to be the strongest. To protect his tribe.
And to an extent – he was successful. He managed to defend the tribe from minor threats such as wild animals and opportunistic bandits. Much like on Earth, where he was the one to stop Majin Meishi. When the real threat came and wiped out his tribe, Antary was unprepared. He was not prepared for Touketsuki to be this powerful either. As if laughing at the saiyan, history repeated itself, only changing characters.
Mayhaps the earthlings will succeed, somehow. If not, then there is no reason to throw more bodies into the fire. Antary still has his own dreams. Inspired by the natural beauty of the Earth, the saiyan aspires to make Vegeta look the same. But it will be prepared to any danger, external or internal. A mighty, beautiful bastion, something that makes not only the saiyans, but every other race in the galaxy, proud. That was what he dreamed of. To give his race something to be truly proud of, rather than just themselves.
Saiyans have nothing else to be proud of. Antary had never been to Vegeta, but he already has his own views on the race as a whole because of the tribe he was part of. They told him many times to remain proud, no matter what. That it`s the strength of the saiyan race.
“It`s a lie.” He thought. Ever since he left his miserable homeworld, he was sure it was a lie. There is nothing to be proud of.
The young saiyan wanted to change that.
Year 1: The Rise and Fall of the Rebellion
The battle for Earth was still shaking the earth, but Antary had to find a way to leave the planet and head for Vegeta, while the King is here, anxious to jump into the fray. It would give him some time to act outside of his observation, even if just a day. There were 2 locations that he knew of which could possibly contain a way out – his old pod`s crash site, or… A scientist`s laboratory. And he knew just the scientist. A dead one, too, so there probably won`t be much trouble in “borrowing” it from him. The tricky part was to find the laboratory itself, or wherever a space ship is stored. Well, he knew the right person to ask.
A girl named Alice, which Antary saved from her own father, a mad sadistic scientist that invented a suit made of a strange, living material and used it to murder people in his town. The suit gave its owner such great power, that the saiyan nearly died in the fight. Alice decided to stick around and adventure with Antary for a bit, seeing as she had no place to go to. He hadn`t seen her during his training on the Lookout, but considering that he spent mere days up there, she probably couldn`t get too far.
Normally Antary would just be able to sense her presence, but with the battle raging on like it did, it was impossible to sense anything. It was time for some good old tracking… And Antary had no skills when it comes to tracking people on grass or in the woods, as his homeworld was a desert wasteland. No woods or grass there, and he never considered learning how to track people down in these terrains. A pity. Rather than searching countless miles of woodland, the saiyan instead decided to find the ship itself.
It took minutes to get to the town in which he spent 3 days, trying to defeat the murderer that terrorized it. The place hadn`t changed at all… In the last few weeks. Training in the Time Chamber makes everything have a nostalgic value. He flew to Alice`s house, disregarding doors and even windows, and just head-butting straight through the wall. He could hear scared people scream outside, but he had to do this as fast as he could. He needed to find some kind of a clue as to where to begin the search. Maybe the workplace of Alice`s father, a company`s name… Anything.
Within a few minutes he had the required information. Carl Johnson, the scientist, worked for a world renowned company by the simple name Capsule. In this town is just one of their small facilities, which the saiyan did not care about. He had the location – the main headquarters are in Central City, which is where it is likely that the major equipment is stored. Distance was not an issue – Antary could reach such insane speeds that he could travel all around Earth in about half an hour. And here he was, the ruins of a great battle, where the young saiyan earned some bragging rights, and respect from the earthling fighters… The same can`t be said about the common citizens, however. All they saw was the Oozaru ravaging their precious city. Not that he ever cared about getting fame from these people. Not that he ever cared about these people at all.
From beginning to end, Antary was fighting for himself, and only for himself. He had the simple dream of improving the saiyan race, and wanted to use this planet as a platform from which he could jump towards that dream. It didn`t work out in the end because of those selfish goals, but it will be different on Vegeta. There, he will fight for the saiyan race rather than himself. There shall be no illusions of attachments and bonds – it will all be a reality.
It was easy to find that main building. It was huge, and even the damage did a bad job at making it seem otherwise. People inside were busy at work, doing various science things and experiments that Antary`s simple mind couldn`t comprehend, and didn`t want to, either. He lifted up a random old man off the ground, and roared at him with a simple question. “Where are your space ships?!”
The man just stared with eyes wider than the moon itself, clearly not expecting a question such as that. He repeated it in disbelief, confirming that he, in fact, heard that right. A tailed man needs to know where their space ships are stored, and, lifted above the ground and pinned against a wall, was not about to question such demands. “T-three levels under the ground.” He muttered, looking like he soiled his pants. Twice. But he held strong, and saved everyone the trouble. Antary let the man go, opening the doors of an elevator with his bare hands, and flying downwards, to the lowest floor. It was a wide area, containing space ships of all kinds, some being repaired, some constructed. The saiyan grabbed another scientist working in this area, walked up to the ship he liked the most, pinned his victim to the wall of it, and started another interrogation. “I need to get to the planet Vegeta. Do you know how?” Antary asked, trying to keep the scientist as calm as possible with his words so that he doesn`t mess anything up when fiddling with the space ship.
Seeing as he had no real choice, the man opened up the spherical ship with a password, and started to slowly fiddle with the many consoles on the ship. Seeing as the man is clearly stalling for time, the saiyan roared. "Hurry the hell up with it! The sooner I get off this planet, the better for everyone.” Although this scientist probably wanted Antary gone just as much, he didn`t want some crazy guy to take such an expensive space craft with him. His job is on the line as well! It didn`t matter to the saiyan, however. Security guards barged in, shooting the warrior, only for their bullets to bounce off his chest completely. The scientist, at the sight of that, seemed to give up on his career, and started to work the consoles faster, finishing about a minute later. “It`s done, s-sir.”
“Launch it!” Exclaimed Antary, a statement which made the man completely pale. “B-but what about me?!”
“Just do it! I have no interest in bringing you with me. DO IT!” Feet shaking, hands sweating, the man slowly reached for the big red button, and just as slowly, pressed it. The engines roared up, a hole in the wall opened to allow the ship actually fly out, and the doors started to quickly close. Antary, with his ridiculous by human standards strength, halted the main door with just one hand. “Get out!”
Screaming, the worker jumped out of the ship, helped to a safe distance by the security guards. Antary let the doors close, and soon the ship took off. It was a strange feeling, as if gravity became distorted, and sometimes, even disappeared entirely. The walls moved, revealing windows, which in turn revealed the black void of space. He had seen it before, back when he first left his homeworld, but it was such a breathtaking sight regardless. But there were more important issues at this moment. Like for example, he had no idea how long it would take to get to the planet, and neither did he have any idea if the scientist actually sent him to Vegeta, and not just drifting in space. Does that man even know what and where Vegeta is? Only time can tell.
Antary didn`t know how much time had passed since his department. He was patiently waiting, preparing himself physically and mentally to the challenges that are to come. He thought over his own views, what he wants to do and change. Why he thinks the way he does. What he`ll say when he speaks to the people of Vegeta. What he`ll do depending on their reaction.
Finally, the computer spoke. “We are now approaching Planet Vegeta. Please prepare for landing.” Antary felt pure joy after those words. They moved a thick stone off his heart. He wasn`t lied to, neither was he doomed to forever roam the void. He could even see the planet from here. It had that familiar shade of his own homeworld, that… Polluted wasteland color to it. It was quite depressing to see something like this after visiting the Earth. Although he spent time preparing himself, how could one be truly prepared for what he was about to do? To sway the saiyan people to his side, and change the way they do things. It will take years, and in the end, it might not work at all. But it was worth a try. Antary was willing to dedicate his life to this task.
The ship landed in some kind of a rainforest. It was near a cave, which the saiyan noted might be fitting to live in, in case he has to. Flying upwards, he noticed a distant, large city. It was the only sign of civilization around, so he flew there. He paid attention to his power level, as to not attract too much attention yet. First of all, he needed a change of clothes. Something to make him seem less like a brat in a jumpsuit, and more like someone with experience, someone who knows what he`s doing. The saiyans are hard to impress with mere words, they needed action, or at least an intimidating sight to even listen. Antary sneaked into the city, grabbing a red, expensive looking cape, and put it on, quickly getting away without anyone ever noticing.
He spent hours just looking at his surroundings. A dark and vast city, filled with all sorts of scum. Just a quick look around was more than enough to make such an assumption. Although the saiyans are strong, there is nothing they can do when 5 thugs surround someone and beat them up, stealing all valuables. The assigned security forces do nothing but sit at the bars and get into fights, arresting whoever they manage to beat up, clearly trying to avoid getting into trouble with any of the major gangs. The Earth had criminals as well, but not to such extents. Antary spent only a day on this planet, and he was already largely disappointed and depressed with it. The technology was clearly not created by the saiyans themselves, because if they did, there would probably be a lot more than there is now, as advanced as the city looks already.
He wanted to speak up. No, he NEEDED to speak up. The next day, when the streets became most crowded, he climbed on top of a building, letting the crimson cape roam free according to the wind, covering his filthy jumpsuit, looking downwards at the powerful men and women, too pride to admit their own flaws. The flaws of their whole race.
“Saiyans!” The loud roar attracted the attention of everyone on the street. They all looked upwards, at the young man calling to them. Antary stood tall and proud, giving off an intimidating sight as his crimson cape covered his body. As hundreds of eyes turned their attention to him, he became worried. For a moment, he forgot all he wanted to say. Nothing could prepare him for this, or make him an inspiring leader. It required a lot of experience, of which Antary had none. But he had to pull through. For the saiyan race. It`s now or never.
“Ever since the first saiyans, we all spoke about pride. Pride was something that kept us strong during times of need, and because of it alone, we ended up where we are today. Pride had been a major part of our race, and it led us to glory and victory in wars, to advanced technology, and fear from every race in the universe!” The crowd seemed impressed with his words. They thought he was there to inspire them, to perhaps lift their moods, or maybe to just propagandize. Either way, they seemed satisfied.
“IT`S ALL A LIE!” He roared, and in less than moment they started booing, their half-smiles turned to frowns. “You have nothing to be proud of! Look around you. This whole city is a corrupted shithole filled with scraps of stolen technology and crime. The entire universe makes fun of us because of our intellect and pitiful views. Our pride is easily abused by everyone, sometimes even ourselves. We hold no true power outside of this world because we are incapable of doing so. We know nothing but war, we know only how to destroy and steal. THE SAIYAN RACE IS PATHETIC!” The people were truly angry at this point. Some guy who they had never seen before is standing there and insulting them all. How dare he!
“But why, you may ask? Because nobody ever thought about any alternatives! We could be colonizing massive, seemingly dead planets and turning them into reinforced paradises! But we can`t even improve on the technology we currently have, the city is barely defended. We have the POWER to be the greatest race in the universe, but we lack in EVERYTHING ELSE! We lack the intellect, the dedication, and it is all even further hindered by the blind, pointless pride that you are all so proud of. You are proud of your own stubbornness, ignorance, OF YOUR OWN PRIDE! You are proud because you believe you should be. But it`s all a lie. You lie to yourselves. It`s all make-believe. The saiyans are pathetic. We are all pathetic. I will not stand for this. I wish to change everything. And I am certain that I can.”
Behind him he could hear a gruff voice. “Alright, kiddo, get the hell out of here. Come back when you grow up.” Antary decided to completely ignore it, which caused an aggressive reaction from the saiyan behind him. He easily evaded the punch that was sent his way, and returned with a devastating kick that sent the officer flying right off the building. As if nothing happened, he continued.
“If you wish to help me change our race, come find me.” He spoke calmly, but loudly, easily overpowering the crowd`s noise. Seeing as this was about to turn into a fight, Antary disappeared off the roof. He escaped to the rainforest, and lived in the cave which he noted after his arrival to the planet. Finding food was easy through hunting, so surviving was no problem. A few days later, he could sense the presence of a group of saiyans, lurking in the rainforest. He quickly went to investigate, and to his surprise, found his first followers. It was a group of about 15 men. They were all either old or young. They all kneeled before the young Antary, agreeing with his views entirely, and swearing that they will follow him until the bitter end. It was an amazing new feeling that the saiyan experienced when this happened. He was no longer alone in this. He had people who were with him.
The speed at which this rebellion gathered followers was incredible. After merely 10 months, they were counting in the hundreds. Most of them were either veterans, who, over the years developed their own opinions and views, but hadn`t the courage to tell them, or ambitious youngsters, who only wanted what was best for their race… Much like Antary himself. They managed to keep the organization secret, hidden from those who didn`t care, and even from the officials. King Boliko didn`t have a clue, even though the news of a young man preaching his own views probably spread very quickly.
Out of the once small cave, they made a vast underground settlement, allowing them to live there independently. Everyone had their own job to do – those who had no special skills were builders and diggers, reinforcing and improving the settlement as they see fit. Others were handling the political matters, such as keeping this a secret, gathering funds, support and even technology. And then there was something completely unique – Antary had assigned a specific few to research the stolen Tuffle technology in order to find ways to recreate and improve on it. It was a very slow way to do anything, but it was better than nothing. Most of the followers kept their “alignment” a secret, but there were those who were proud of the fact that they are in the rebellion. Their friends called them crazy, teased them, but there was no real reason to be mad about it or hate them, since they didn`t shove their views down anyone`s throats. Not everyone heard the speech Antary made 10 months ago, and those who did had forgotten of it. “The Rebellion” was a name that simply grew on everyone, as they had no other way of naming or referring to this… organization.
It was by the end of the year that the Rebellion seemed to peak. They had power, loyalty and a dream. They had to act now, or never. Antary decided to do nothing, and just wait for the right moment. He was resting after another day of inspiring the people that were loyal to him, assuring them that soon, action will be taken… And the next day, it happened. News of an attempt on King Boliko`s life spread faster than the wind. One of Antary`s most loyal people, a young man called Kurgon from a noble family, was captured and imprisoned. Antary was mad and confused. He demanded answers, and received them. “You issued the order, sir. Kurgon only followed it. You know how loyal he is to the cause.”
“I would NEVER tell him to do something like that! That goes against everything I had ever claimed! I am against kinslaying!” Antary didn`t remember himself being this angry ever before. “I want to know who did it. I am sure it was someone in the Rebellion. Someone wants me gone. This is how they do it. Not directly, but with deception and politics. Tell everyone… That we`ll find the traitor.”
Since that incident, a lot of people had left. The only ones who remained were those who believed in Antary`s innocence, and those who believed that it was the right decision to assassinate King Boliko. From more than 300, there were only 50 left. The Rebellion was thought of as terrorists, cold and calculating. They failed to find the traitor, but they did find out that a voice changer was used along with a communicator to issue this order. “From now on, every major order must be issued directly by me, in the flesh. Only trust communicators during minor assignments. ”
And that was the fall of the saiyan rebellion. Now they are considered to be nothing more than terrorists. The attempt on Boliko`s life was so unexpected, that the King had to leave his own planet to think. Antary wanted to do the same. He wanted to abandon everything after such a painful backstab. But he had to go on. Even though he was wounded, he had to move on. The King left, so Vegeta was now full of opportunities to spread his influence. But little did he know that he obtained more enemies than he thought he did. Kurgon`s family was out there for him. They wanted revenge for their dishonor, and for the ruination of their son`s life.
They were quick to find him.
The young saiyan wanted to change that.
Year 1: The Rise and Fall of the Rebellion
