The sun was coming out, making the atmosphere barrable and smooth; but he couldn’t careless at this point. Too much had happened and there was absolutely nothing he could do about it; the time for action had come and gone ages ago, but he still had to try. He wanted to kill the men that took her from him, but what would that really solve? Violence against violence was the way of his race, but he was different, he had to be. He would keep his pride and ego in check; it would be the only way to truly get around what was to come. In the end, they would get what they deserved, but until then, Dao Midnight had to keep himself calm.
“Are you in the game yet Midnight?” questioned a short, stout Saiyan as he looked up at his ally and friend. “We can’t do this without you, but you need to be alert, can’t have you sifting through thoughts of revenge while we do this. I promise you brother, we will protect our planet, there’s nothing that will stop us from that, but we’d all like to come back with all of our digits.”
Dao Midnight awoke from his dream and looked at himself in the mirror. He was damp, sweating a cold perspiration and his eyes were bloodshot red. It had been liked this every night, reliving the nightmare from so long ago. He had hoped time would heal his wounds, but that had not been the case, mentally anyways. So much bad, evil really, had happened on that day and there wasn’t a thing that he had been able to do about it. That would have been different if only…
“Too dangerous,” thought the black haired tanned skin man as he threw his legs over the side of his bed.
Sliding has hand over his buzzed hair; he shifted uncomfortable before placing his hands upon his face. A cold chill ran down his spine and he shook his head gently. There was never a dull moment in his life, not anymore at least. Sleeping, awake, or somewhere in between, it simply did not matter; it was like God was playing a joke on him, using him as a focal point for punishment for the souls that were damned to the depths of Hell.
Sighing as he lifted himself from his cot, Dao Midnight saw himself in the mirror and shuttered once again. He really needed to find a way to get a good nights rest, all of this stressing out and uneasiness was really wearing down his body, not to mention his mind. He looked older than he was and thought that could be reversed with time, the mental image was bake breaking by itself. He had always been fit and clean cut, but now he was out of shape and rugged as can be.
He had no direction in life and thought that was his fault he always found an outlet for his reasons. They were sometimes legitimate reasons, sickness, job appointments, and the like. There were, however, horrible excuses that no one ever bought. It sickened him to lie to people for no real reason other than to hide just how truly pathetic his life had become, but it was his life and he was the one charged to live it. Why should he care what others thought of him and his own?
“Because it does matter.” Dao Midnight mumbled to himself as he walked clumsily towards his sink. “Judgmental bastards. All of them. They can kiss my ass, saying my mind isn't strong...it's stronger now!”
Turning the small handle, water came pouring out of the faucet and into the skin. Slowly it filled up with warm water and he merely watched as the tiny waves swam across the surface of the miniscule pool. Each tiny ripple either ended up crashing into a wall or into another wave and it seemed that the Gods wanted to remind him of his fate no matter how the metaphor took shape. He needed to get out of his ship and back into the city where he could escape the continuous self destruction.
It was still possible that the momentary escape wouldn’t give him what he needed. Total and complete distance from reality was all that he could hope for, yet it was the only thing he could not have. In his experiences, those that sought the impossible fell to fate’s whim and he was not ready to have his life force extinguished, not yet at least. He knew that he would no live forever, dying in battle or betrayal was the way of the makaioshin. He stood in his quarters, putting on his black puffy pants, his saiyan boots, his gold colored light weighted T-shirt with a black Gi and gold sash. He then put on his scouter and walked off the ship, looking for something to do.
Looking around the city, there wasn't much to do. Everyone was doing their own thing, he then gathered his ki and flew towards the mountains of vegeta to start his training regiment.
As he got close to the mutated forest, a small scream could be heard from the woods, a rather tall sleek man awakens from the scream, he gets up and rushes towards the forest. When he gets to his destination he is shocked by the fact that there is a blood trail leading into a cave, he breathes heavily twice and walks towards the cave.
"Hello!? Is anyone here!?" he shouts curiously and then, proceeds cautiously towards a small light coming from the opposite side of the cave. When he gets to the light, it was in fact a torch. As he picked up the torch, he hears a noise from behind him, he quickly turns round to see a group of bandits, all with weapons.
"Why hello there, How are you gentlemen doing today?" He smirks confidently, analyzing all seventeen men.
"You don't belong here boy.... We're gonna cut you up!" shouts the supposed leader of the group, who runs towards the man with great speed but then one of the Bandits call on him.
"Sir! Wait, thats the one we were looking for, The makaioshin!" He shakily exclaims to his superior. "We have to get out of...."
In near enough an instant, Dao Midnight was in front of the leader, he knees him in the gut once, bringing him to his knees, then another knee to the face in a split second. The bandits then decided to attack him, They all came at him throwing fists and kicks but Dao Midnight, who was still smirking was not even blocking, these men weren't even harming him.
Dao Midnight's aura then bursts out sending two of the front bandits flying back wards in a state of shock, he then jumps into the air and disappears out of their sight, he then appears beside one of the back bandits and slams his leg into the side of his neck, knocking him out cold, he then goes from one to the other, slamming his fists and feet into less lethal areas, knocking them all out cold, but killing no one.
As Dao Midnight's aura dies out, he walks towards where the bandits came from, a small wooden door, inside a young girl lay beaten and tied up. His eyes are wide open with disgust that these men could have done something to just one girl. He picks the girl up into his arms and takes her to his home, in a cottage not far from the forest. Once there, he gives the girl his bed and sits on the rocking chair next to the bed. Waiting for the girl to awaken.
Then next morning came and the girl was in a state of panic as she awakens but calms down nearly instantly when she is welcomed by a friendly face. The girl was around sixteen years of age, she had long black hair and deep blue eyes, she wore a red dress with a white ribbon on the shoulder.
"Hey... How are you? Whats your name saiyan girl?" Dao Midnight calmly asks the girl who is still shaking terribly, she is obviously hurt. "Don't worry, your safe now, I took care of those men, What happened, why did they attack you?"
Dao Midnight is shocked when the girl opens her mouth but no words came out, she was a mute..... Yet she screamed the other night? Maybe the shock have taken her voice? Or maybe, just maybe, this was the girl that he dreamed about, The girl in the middle of a burning forest, everything in flames, even himself, yet the girl stood in the middle of the flames, unharmed.
Dao Midnight then cradled the girl in his arms once again, he left his cosy little home and started flying towards Hercule City, just on the opposite side of the forest, he needed to get to a hospital so that the girl could be looked after, Dao Midnight would have done it himself, but something disturbed him last night.
He knew every single one of those bandits, and they were once the most friendliest of people you could ever meet, and yet one small night was enough to change them into evil, sadistic, lunatics. What also troubled him is that even though there was blood everywhere in the cave, the girl herself had no wounds, only small bruises.
Who's blood was on the cave walls? Dao Midnight was certain he would have to check the cave again, and see what really happened there. He got to saru city longer than he had expected, he had never really carried anyone while flying and it really took it out of him. When he arrived that the hospital he was greeted by doctors and nurses, all worried about the girl in his arms.
One of the doctors approached Dao Midnight and spoke, "This girl went missing almost two weeks ago, we have had a search party out looking for her, they claimed to have found her but strange noises were heard on the phone, it was as if they were all being killed."
Midnight's eye widened, those men weren't the men he knew, they were mimics, and the blood must have been the originals. But why did they not kill the girl. Sure she was pretty but there was something there, Something evil in those eyes. After a few hours talking to some officials, Dao Midnight returned home, from there he slept.
Who is this girl and why did they want her? i'll never know the answer to that one..YAWN...
And with that, he rested in his spaceship which was docked in the spaceport of saru city.
“Are you in the game yet Midnight?” questioned a short, stout Saiyan as he looked up at his ally and friend. “We can’t do this without you, but you need to be alert, can’t have you sifting through thoughts of revenge while we do this.
