Year One
Kasai had always been stubborn and competitive his entire life. It was a very bad combination to have especially when he was around other very dominant personalities in one way or another. The worst thing that anyone could ever do to the kaioshin was to take away an honor that he had won and thought he rightfully deserved. This happened when the Universe’s Sexiest Contest rolled around again. Many began to watch with an annoyed fascination as to who was going to win. Was it going to be the founder and inaugural winner for many years, Jishin, or was the latest winner and upset that time around, Kasai. Then there stood a chance that neither kaioshin would win and that some dark horse would win the race. Both pleaded their cases throughout all of Other World despite many objections from the older kaionshin. They felt that is was a distraction from their duties especially since both were cardinal kais watching over sections of the galaxies.
The fateful day came at the end of the year after much campaigning and even negative campaign spots by both front runners. Both Kasai and Jishin began to spread vicious attacks about one another. Kasai spoke as if Jishin was a spoiled brat who had no pride in the kaioshin race while Jishin was actively trying to convince people that Kasai was not a ten but rather a five on the attraction scale.
With the results in the winner was declared to be (Insert Winner’s name here). Out of frustration/celebration Kasai summoned up ki in the form of a javelin and tossed it off into the distance. The unstable attack flew through the air before coming into contact with a solid object causing it erupt in a giant explosion. Kasai was ecstatic at the idea that he had learned a new technique in the midst of an emotional moment. He dubbed the new attack Heaven’s Spear.
Year Two
For years Kasai had long considered Heiwa his chief rival in all aspects of his life except for looks where he considered Jishin his true rival in that area. They had competed in every aspect that Kasai could ever think of even though Heiwa always played it off as nothing. Kasai one day had enough of his composed demeanor and lashed out at him verbally. Soon the air became so tense that the two cardinal kaioshin began to fight each other. The two were almost even in power level causing both to resort to using their cardinal transformation, Kaioken and Invictus, to try and get a leg up on each other. Kasai was able to keep Heiwa off balance with his relentless fighting style while Heiwa was able to prevent any major damage with his shields and near unbreakable guards.
During the fight Kasai revealed his newest technique where he channeled all of his ki into his fists and feet in order to strengthen his attacks to much higher force levels that he could not reach without the technique. The Western Kaioshin dubbed the technique Heavenly Assaultm it caught the Northern Kaioshin off guard but he quickly regained his composure and defended himself just as much as he had before.
After close to two hours of fighting Kasai and Heiwa could not continue out of the lack of energy, they both collapsed at the same time, resolving their argument in a way that neither enjoyed. Both looked at each and laughed at the irony that neither was able to gain an upper hand the entire fight. Exhausted, the two cardinal kaioshins returned their respective posts overlooking the galaxy.
Year 3
Dai Kensei had always preached about meditating in order to gain a reading on the natural flows of the universe but Kasai had never been a huge fan of the idea. But over the last couple years Kasai had tried to engage in the mediation more and more in order to truly understand Dai Kensei’s view on the universe. Looking out over the universe caused Kasai to become more aware of the lives of thousands of mortal creatures ranging from humans to Namekians to Saiyans to the lowest of the undocumented races.
The Western Kaioshin began to take interest in a young human male that lived in a small village on Earth. His life was not the hardest one that Kasai had seen but at the same time it was not an easy life. The one thing in his life left, turning her back on him, his family knew only infighting and soon the human grew depressed wishing to only be spared from the hardships that he endured. Then one day in the middle of more fighting the male human wandered off with gun in his hand. He would find a quiet place before pulling the trigger ending his life.
Kasai could not help but cry at the potential that was snuffed out of the universe. He swore to himself that he would not allow another potential to snuff itself out. He said that he would reach out to any lost souls through his mind to assure them of their significance. Of course Kasai would never admit this to any other kaioshin in order to keep his image intact.
Year 4
As Kasai trained and watched the mortal world begin to arm itself for the upcoming galactic war. It amused the warrior kaioshin to great extent. To him war was like a chess match that could be won at any given moment with a blitz of strength that could change the fate of an entire planet’s destiny. While the Western Kaioshin was all for the frontal assault he enjoyed the finer nuances of fighting wars. Knowning this even Kasai had to admit that he needed to develop supplementary moves to aid his all out attack style.
After months of training Kasai developed a technique that he had not seen before in the universe using his ki he formed six bars of pure energy in the air, he would then fling them at the enemy, upon intersection in the enemy, forming what looking like a windmill wheel, the energy in the enemy would be bound and the opponent would restrained. Kasai laughed at the idea of getting the attack off and then exploiting his vulnerable enemy.
That was when he noticed Heiwa moving from his planet in the North and surprisingly he was heading in the direction of Hell. Kasai then realized that there was only reason he would be heading for Hell and that was to get a student. Not being out done Kasai left from his planet and headed towards Hell to find a student of his own.
Year 5
Kasai wandered through Hell looking for any new arrivals that would spark his interest for taking on a new student. Although Kasai was a proud kaioshin warrior he knew that it was foolish to walk around in Hell in his normal appearance. So he used a technique that he had developed to disguise himself using illusions to all those around him.
It took Kasai a long time to find what he was looking for but was more than happy when he stumbled across a wandering Saiyan. He set up a small table and pulled out a bottle of liquor titled DemCo and poured a glass of for himself and his guest. It was fairly easy to persuade the Saiyan to come and drink with the disguised kaioshin once they had met. The Saiyan began to drink and that was when Kasai sprang his test. He explained to the Saiyan that in order to save his soul, which had just consumed poison, he would have to pick either to kill innocent people at Kasai command or to forfeit the center of the Saiyan’s pride his tail.
It took a moment for the Saiyan to decide that he would sacrifice his tail. At the fact that Saiyan was going to give up his tail Kasai could not help but laugh. He revealed himself to the Saiyan and explained that he wanted to take Sohko, the Saiyan, under his wing to train him. Kasai was highly amused by the way that Sohko acted and knew that he would be the perfect student for him.
With that he returned to the Western kaioshin planet where he told Sohko that in order to advance further in his training he would have to do two things which would test his metal as warrior. The first was to withstand an half powered all-out assault from Kasai, which surprisingly to Kasai he was able to do within a couple weeks of training with him, and then the second was to accomplish what no being had ever done before. Drink three shots of KaiCo, which was one hundred times as strong as Sohko’s SaiyCo, a feat that not even Kasai himself had accomplished before. After that he promised the Saiyan that he would return him to the world of the living in order to serve as Kasai’s proxy fighter and to help do the kai’s bidding.
Training at times was difficult, annoying, amusing and strange but Kasai could not help but feel for once what a cardinal Kaioshin should feel like. But he could not help but begin to feel a presence off somewhere in the universe that gave him pause because of the nature of what it was. For now though he would just have to wait and see what it was.
