Power-Hungry Fool (Finished)

[Caius]

"My journey shall begin here, Yours shall come to a unfortunate, abrupt end."

Caius taunted Jorlaxl as the two found an open space atop the mountain to battle.
The wind blew slightly through his hair as Caius alit on a boulder as gracefully as possible. Keeping his hands in an open position, spread at his sides, he gave a rakish smile.

"Or are you going to do something about this?"

He crossed his arms and jerked his chin at the Android, inviting him to try his best.

[Jorlaxl]

On the way to the destination that Caius decided upon, Jorlaxl was thinking to himself about the last few events. An alien to whom Jorlaxl can call master has arrived with his ensemble of troops, and this strange human has requested a duel with Jorlaxl. This was a weird twist on today's events, indeed.

Finally arriving, Caius landed on a rock in front of Jorlaxl, who landed on the hard brown rock that made up the mountain. Looking around, he favored Caius' decision. This was the ideal place to train, with wide, open terrain supported by the mountain ledges above and around him, this was excellent.

"My journey shall begin here, Yours shall come to a unfortunate, abrupt end." Caius looked smug, and sure of himself.

"Or are you going to do something about this?"

Jorlaxl grinned, and spread out his arms evenly in front of him, fingers spread apart. "Oh, you have no idea, my friend. Shall we begin?"

[Caius]

Caius carefully singled out the movements of the android. They bespoke a latent power and an analytical intelligence, but most importantly, they betrayed a sliver of hubris.

Caius drew upon everything he knew about himself. He was strong. How strong was he? He estimated at least as strong as everyone present at the meeting earlier, save Suki, whose power was overwhelming. Caius aspired to that level. This would be his first steps, so to speak. He collected his childish brain into a coherent, thinking, adolescent superstructure.

"You have no idea, my friend. Shall we begin?"

Caius took the android at his offer and with lithe grace, summoned his blade to his left hand and loosed 2 Ki blasts at his opponent.

[Jorlaxl]

Jorlaxl was more than happy to prove himself in combat. When Caius started shooting ki blasts at him, Jorlaxl could tell that this was the calm before the storm. He's testing me... He's trying to pin my abilities. Fool. Casually, he blocked the ki blasts, each in a different direction. They flew harmlessly into the mountains, causing dents where the energy impacted the hard rock.

Jorlaxl chuckled to himself, and said "Come now, you'll have to do better than that. But alas, it's my turn. Let's see you dodge These!" And with that, he shot many magic missiles at Caius, but not all of them were aimed at him. He shot some around him as well, so it would be harder to escape.

Sir, it's advised to be cautious around this guy. He seems to have the power to pull various aquatic creatures out of different places and strike with it. That sword may not be his only weapon...

Jorlaxl duly noted it, and proceeded to shoot more magic missiles.

[Caius]

The two ki blasts were effortlessly swatted aside by Jorlaxl, and Caius gave an almost imperceptible smile.

"Come now, you'll have to do better than that. But alas, it's my turn. Let's see you dodge these!"


A wave of many energy blasts came towards Caius, and it took some acrobatics to make sure he came out of it unscathed. Twisting around some of the ones coming directly at him, he used his sword to deflect some of the other ones that came a little too close for comfort. He had to maintain an awkward position to get out of the way of a few of them, and so he lost his balance, and fell off of the rock.

Agh!

Thump!

Landing in a heap on the ground, Caius quickly collected himself, realizing he'd underestimated his enemies. Those projectiles were powerful, and they'd come fast. He held his sword firmly in both hands, and not more than an instant after he'd pulled himself up after his ignominious fall, he launched himself towards the android with a battle cry.

[Jorlaxl]

These missiles work great! Caius was no pushover, though. The energy attacks that each adversary fired were easily dodged by the other, making it seem like a very even battle, indeed. Jorlaxl couldn't hide his smile when Caius fell to the ground with a THUMP! Maybe his missiles were too much for him!

That thought died as quickly as it came, though, for Caius got back up, sword in hand, and quickly charged at the bio-android with a cry that shook the world. Jorlaxl expected this, and was ready.

Just like in his training at the Hercule Legend Dojo, Jorlaxl sidestepped the attacking enemy easily. However, he stuck his foot out in front of Caius, in an attempt to trip him.

[Caius]

Caius unleashed a mighty cleave with his sword, as Jorlaxl deftly sidestepped the crushing blow, and stuck out his foot to trip him. His eyes follows Jorlaxl's movements, but he couldn't alter his momentum fast enough to evade his foot. He missed, and his speed carried him past Jorlaxl, and his ankle felt the impact of the android's foot.

He concentrated, and as he tripped he pivoted about the ball of his foot to be facing upwards as he fell. With his right hand, he slashed at Jorlaxl with his Demonic Blade.

[Jorlaxl]

Jorlaxl was smart, and easily was able to trip the warrior attacking him, seemingly with death on his mind, and lust in his eyes. Jorlaxl used these damning emotions against his opponent, and was able to trip him easily. However, it seems that that his opponent isn't as blind as he thought. Using his balance, Caius was able turn around, effectively stopping his fall, and swung at Jorlaxl!

Jorlaxl wasn't expecting a sudden counter-attack, and was caught completely off guard. He awkwardly dodged, but it wasn't fast enough. His arm got slashed by the demonic blade and Jorlaxl gasped in pain. His sleeve was torn, and purple blood began seeping from his arm at a slow rate. Time to get serious.

"That's a nasty blade you got there. It gave me a good cut on the arm. You know, you aren't half bad."

Jorlaxl took a few steps back, and took a breather. Caius doesn't seem like a power-hungry fool, maybe the two combatants can make an agreement.

[Caius]

The blade swung true, and caught Jorlaxl on the arm.

The moral victory was lost, as Caius still tripped, and awkwardly backpedaled until he was able to regain his balance. He was making an utter fool of himself.

"You know, you aren't half bad."

"You're no pushover yourself. I guess it'll be harder than I thought to earn Suki's respect."

Caius gripped his sword in both hands and began to slowly circle the Android. He'd have to tread carefully, he's been outplayed twice now.

You called him master. I can see why he chose you to be one of his warriors. But, I think I can match you. Maybe even best you in combat.

He continued pacing a circle around Jorlaxl, waiting for the Android to make his move.

[Jorlaxl]

This battle was getting intense. And Jorlaxl could tell it would only get more heated from here if he proceeded to attack again. Perhaps this being would be able to see reason. Jorlaxl himself didn't want to kill this thing, they seemed to be on equal terms. Besides, if they were both equal and under Suki, would they not be ideal sparring partners?

"Listen, I know that I called him master. I know that this won't make any sense to you... But I'm a part of him. I think..."

Jorlaxl put his arms down, signalling an end to combat. "I have some of Suki's DNA inside of me. If not him, then of his race. I'm trying to attain my perfect form, and I believe that Suki's part of that puzzle."

Jorlaxl could tell that this creature was civil, at least in some ways. Jorlaxl then said something risky.

"I have no desire to fight you, and no one said that we both can't join Suki. Besides, we seem to be the weakest members of his team. We could spar and help each other out. But none of that would happen if we kill each other out here. What do you say?"

He held out his hand to Caius in a sign of truce.

[Caius]

Caius lowered his sword, carefully weighing his options. He wanted to learn what he could from the being Suki, that is true. This android became more interesting by the minute. He was definitely capable of inflicting damage if he wanted to, he possessed strength.

Caius thought he was stronger. He wasn't sure, but his inner demonic intent told him to crush Jorlaxl, if he wanted Suki's respect. The bio-android could make a valuable ally though, and his suggestion of a training partner was intriguing.

What would Suki do? He didn't seem like an entirely immoral killing machine. He had the power to be one, but he wouldn't indiscriminately raze a planet.

He definetely valued power, though. What better way for Caius to demonstrate his power than to wipe one of his henchmen off of the face of the Earth?

Sheathing his blade at his side, he approached the Android, as if to take his hand in some type of compact. The fool, to trust a demon.

Your proposition intrigues me. I shall agree to it tentatively...if you prove worthy!

Harnessing his Demonic Aura, he glowed with his own strength, as he took two quick strides towards him, ducked low as if to attack his legs, grasped the hilt of his katana, then quickly stood straight in a duelist's stance and unsheathed his sword, slashing at the Androids chest.

[Jorlaxl]

Jorlaxl was completely caught off guard. This being, this thing, played him like a harp, and most importantly, Jorlaxl let him get too close. When he got in close to shake his hand, he surprised Jorlaxl by slashing him with his sword! This wouldn't have normally been such a huge problem, but instead, he manifested his powerful aura and strengthened himself up 4-fold! Jorlaxl wasn't able to withstand this enhanced attack, and was sliced cleanly in half.

Jorlaxl uttered a gasp of quiet surprise as his top half slid off of his body and onto the ground. Jorlaxl's eyes grew cloudy and his vision blurred as he struggled to stay conscious. He vaguely saw Caius over him, and he was quickly losing blood.

In his head, he heard 2B's voice chime in his ears. Master, you'll be okay. Just hold on, and hope he doesn't destroy your central core in your head. We aren't advanced enough to survive that...

[Caius]

"Aaaaaaahahahahahahaha...you're weak. You trusted me and let your guard down in a fight with an enemy you know nothing of. Did you really think I could be trusted that readily?"

Caius sheathed his sword, and held his hands open, as if inviting the android to counterattack, almost mocking him.

He gathered two ki blasts in his hand, and blew apart the androids lower body, splattering himself with his purple blood, and blowing gore across the rocks.

"I'd have thought one of Suki's men would be able to handle themselves more professionally. I'm slightly disappointed. Had you been as powerful as I'd hoped you were, you might have made a fine ally.

He grabbed Jorlaxl's upper body by the neck, and lifted it up.

"This will be the last lesson you ever learn."

Channeling his ki, he blew a large hole in the bio-android's midsection, before dropping it down onto the sandy terrain.

[Jorlaxl]

Jorlaxl was gasping for air. When he got the lower half of his body blown off, his head was literally swimming with blood. He watched, sickened, as his lower half was obliterated, and he couldn't help but cry out. He has never experienced pain like this before.

He felt the blood seeping through his lips as he uttered
"I don't blame you... It's for your best interest... But" He paused, coughing up blood in spurts. "But think about this: who will be on your side when you've outlived your purpose to Suki? Would you.. not need an ally?" He groaned, and his head was too much in pain to think. All he could ever want was to sleep...

Go into the light, master. It'll help the regenerative process speed up. Just wait... Just wait. Jorlaxl couldn't hear at this point. He could only sleep.

[Caius]

The words stuck true in Caius's being, and an ice cold spike cut through his heart.

He'd serve some purpose to Suki, and obvious gain something from whatever relationship lay in the future, but what would happen when he could no longer learn anything from him? Or more likely, when Suki became bored with him?

This strange being had reached out his hand in good faith, perhaps he needed friends as well, in this strange world.

Caius felt something a little akin to loss, despite the fact that it was probably in his interest to betray the android. What could their working relationship have been, had they both chosen to join Suki, and had some type of alliance? Would Suki have even accepted him, had he done anything less than obliterate the Android?

Caius shook his, head, he was being too human here. Pondering the hypotheticals. Being weak.

Walking over to the edge of the mountain clearing, looking over the top at the sunset, where he could see Aice and Xanden fighting, and Suki talking with Samael. He ascended, and flew back to his new master.
