Diane followed Zach, feeling guilty that she attacked him so ferociously. The teen collapsed into the tall grass, and although he looked beat he seemed like he would be okay. Diane smiled as he joked around, glad that he could make fun in his situation. I wouldn't mind traveling with this guy... she thought to herself, I hope he feels the same way, or a partnership just won't work.
Diane plopped down next to her former adversary, suddenly spent after all of the excitement of the day. She rubbed her sore arms, astounded at how tough Zach ended up being. "I don't know how you did it," Diane laughed, "but my arms feel like I've been punching a mountain!" She looked down at Zach, who was trying to rest his battered body. I don't think my fists have met a material quite as durable as this guy. She mused, studying the teen's iron hard muscles. Thank goodness he's on my side.
Diane sat there in the grass, her mind drifting off to her memories on planet Vegeta, wondering what her father was doing now. She waited silently for Zach to stir, content with her own thoughts.

As Zach rested, he could help laughing again at Diane’s comment that she felt like she’d been beating on a mountain. He also could miss at how intently she was staring at his body. His cheeks reddened slightly with momentary embarrassment but it faded quickly, he’d worked hard to get the body he had and proudly showed it off. It was just slightly awkward to be so intensely scrutinized.
“Heh heh heh, if that’s true, you must have some pretty mushy mountains where ever you’ve been the past two years. My gut has about as much resistance as jelly now.” Zach chuckled. He laid there for some time, no longer then an hour though, just long enough to recover the energy to fly without the risk of suddenly dropping out of the sky.
“So I’m thinking, you can hit pretty hard… for a girl…” he chuckled again, wondering what kind of reaction the comment would provoke. “So maybe we should set up a strategy to use. Who ever we go up against, I’ll keep them busy and you wear them down? Sound like a plan? Oh, and one more thing. If I’m even in a fight, and getting the tar beat out of me like that back there, don’t get mixed up in it. Every time I fight, win or lose, it’s a learning experience. Ok?” the teen asked.

Diane raised her eyebrow at the "girl" comment. She had seen plenty of it at the academy, and the ones who gave it to her were probably still sipping their breakfast through straws. Fortunately, however, she had mellowed out during her stay on Vegeta, and now took comments like that in stride, deciding to let her actions put her detractors in their place. Even so, hearing the comment from Zach seemed a little weird. It didn't seem like his MO. Diane shrugged it off, focusing on his statements about his battle style.
"So you want me let you get beat up?" Diane wondered aloud. "Well, I guess if it works for you I won't argue... but if you look like you gonna die i'm not about to stand by, capiche?" Diane let her own statement sink in, thinking about where they could go from here. She hadn't been on Earth in years, so as a guide she would be worth next to nothing, but the two of them needed some time to get used to each other's fighting styles. That meant they needed some training, and the one place Diane had been to on this planet besides Townsville was perfect.
Diane decided to voice her idea. "So..." she began, calling for Zach's attention, "I assume you've been looking for the ones who destroyed our town for the past few years, so you'll definitely have more leads than I do, but I know a place where we can get some training in before we hit the road. Whaddya think?"

Zach listened and chuckled again when Diane insisted that she wouldn’t let anyone kill him. He didn’t expect anything less from her, he just wanted to make sure that if he was involved in a one on one fight, she wouldn’t interfere, even if he was losing. “Heh, sure thing. As long as the guy isn’t trying to do something cheap like cut me to pieces with a sword, I don’t mind losing. But yeah, if you think they’ll pull something underhanded, go ahead and jump in. I might not mind getting the stuffing knocked out of me, but I have no desire to die.” Zach replied and sat up.
Feeling decidedly better although still not one hundred percent, the young man climbed back to his feet and offered Diane a hand up. “And yeah, I’ve been balancing my time between looking and training but it happened at night and everyone in the bar was killed so it’s proving difficult to get any leads. Short of tracking down every Saiyan who’s been to Earth in the past two years I don’t know how we’re going to find them.” the blonde continued.
“But hey, if you have somewhere we can train, I’d be glad to follow along.” he added and stood ready to lift off and follow Diane to their next destination.

By the time they were ready to depart from their resting point, the sun was already setting. It was finally the close of what had been quite an eventful day. She listened intently to Zach's words, eyes glued on glowing, orange horizon. At a time like this, it was hard to keep a straight face.
Diane smiled at Zach's readiness for adventure, although she was little disappointed that finding the saiyans wouldn't be as easy as she hoped. This isn't gonna be simple... She warned herself. But I'm in it for the long haul. Steeling her determination Diane let joyful laugh, feeling ready to take on the world. She looked up and noticed Zach's outstretched hand, an offer of friendship, and hopefully the beginning of a great journey.
Taking Zach's hand, she lifted herself off the ground, using the momentum to launch herself into the air. Floating above her partner's head, she turned around with a cocky smile. "I'll lead the way," she called out, rising higher, "You just try and keep up." With that, she launched in the direction of Townsville, drawn toward the the warm glow of the sun retreating in the distance.
OOC: I'll take XP for this please.
