Tropical Encounter

Midnight launched his kick and suddenly it was grabbed. Responding to the touch, the Dao released his left hand, using the right to keep it locked and using his right hand, launched a spirit skull ball at point blank range which was set to explode between the both of them. But as he launched it, he felt a kick which he felt somewhat..the jutsu took most of it. As the spirit skull ball just formed, it detonated. Midnight just gripped his sword hilt tight with his right hand as the detonation began....

ooc: This is going to hurt....both of us, i hope your ready.

As Zach watched the battle progress, he continued back until he was just a few feet away from the sample container he’d brought with him. Remembering that he was there for a reason and not just to play, the young man dug the list out of his pocket once more and looked up the second item on the list. He would have to wait to finish the first item as the number one drawer was still laying in the sand, dangerously close to the fight.

Item two on the list was simple and not as unpleasant as the first item would have been; he was to collect some caterpillar specimens. Reading further down on the list, Zach noted that the workload was in fact lighter then usual. After the caterpillars there were only two other items and both of those were plants that could be found right near the beach. Nodding in approval, the blonde put the list away and turned his attention back to the fight just a something exploded. He wasn’t sure what though as he was quite obviously not paying the fighters his full attention.

Ryota scowled as he felt a sudden build up of energy between himself and Mdinight, bracing himself and tightening his hold on the other demon's leg in order to prevent an escape attempt Ryota gritted his teeth as an explosion erupted between himself and Midnight. He was rather thankful that this had been done while they were on there second level's of power as it made taking attacks like that at least decently possible, it sucked beyond belief and he'd probably regret it later but for the time being he'd just push on and be happy that at the very least Midnight was likely in a significant amount of pain as well.

"That probably would have worked out a bit better if we were a bit more evenly matched, I have to say though whatever it was that you just did was rather good. It might have even been a real issue had you taken a bit more time to charge up the attack." Ryota said giving Dao a cocky grin before taking a few quick swipes at Midnight with his sword hoping to use the incredibly disadvantageous position that Dao was in to his advantage.

As he attacked Midnight Ryota sent a mental order to the Galleon to prepare it's cannons for an attack, he had no plans to send any orders for a full powered blast like he'd ordered on the robot man who decided to attack him in the park. No he had no plans to vaporize Dao though he had a feeling Dao would be able to survive anything the Galleon could put out at the moment due to the ship's weakened state, however given enough time he was rather certain the ship could cause the other demon a bit of pain.

Dao Midnight had spikes all over his shreader jutsu, so he wondered how this nether demon could block out the bloodloss. He was concentrating, gathering energy while the explosion hit.

"Well thank you," midnight said countering royta's sword swipes, one got in on his armor, another on his shoulder, but the spikes caught it, "But you got some good strategy on you, and a leaders charisma. I kept zach alive for you...the headbutt was to weaken him, not kill him, he won't be fighting me for awhile..."

Ryota then pulled out his sword out of the spikes as midnight decided to just discharge a makaimehameha out of the foot that was caught by ryota in hopes thats he would be able to get free and cause a bit of damage but in all: distance.

As Zach turned his attention back to the fight, or rather it was dragged back by the sudden explosion, he watched another brief exchange, this time involving a sword and then without much ceremony, the dæmon took off across the water. Zach wasn’t sure if he was actually running away or it was some harebrained attempt to get distance for an attack, but one thing was for sure, the man in red greatly outclassed both him and the dæmon.

“That was pretty good.” Zach called out as he pulled another sample drawer from the container and started back across the beach towards the man in red. “I think you scared him off.” the blonde added as he stopped under where the two had been fighting and watched as the dæmon continued to shrink away into the distance, which is in actuality an impossibility since the dæmon did not have the power to fly.

Dusting off his hand Ryota turned to Zach with a shrug as his Makaioken faded away. "I'm not particularly surprised. He's probably used to being the top or one of the top dogs where he's from so being faced with someone he doesn't know that's stronger than him was probably a bit of an issue for him. It's a bit unfortunate because I was hoping to test out my full strength against his." Ryota said with a chuckle.

"Are you alright? You did very well against him all things considered, had that last exchange between the two of you gone a bit differently I'm pretty sure you may have been able to pull out a victory or at the very least weakened him to much to actually fight me." Ryota said as he walked over to Zach. He then turned to watch the now dispersing energy particles of the other demon's technique.

"I'm not even entirely sure if I ever want to see that one again, on the one hand he wasn't particularly pleasant to be around but on the other I just cant help but enjoy the idea of getting another chance to fight him." Ryota said with a chuckle.

[Zach]

“Yeah, I’ll be fine. He just knocked the wind out of me a few too many times.” Zach replied to the other man. “And thanks. I did get in a few good hits, but it was almost like something was just willing him not to get hurt by them. Oh well. I don’t know why you’d want to fight him again though, he fought kind of cheap.” Zach added and then looked to the sample drawer he’d taken out earlier, it was half buried in the sand but looked to be intact. He didn’t particularly want to go back to collecting samples, especially since the adrenalin from the fight was still funning through him, but knew the job had to get done eventually, especially if he wanted money for food and such.

“Well, I’m not too beat. If you want to do some friendly throwing each other around I wouldn’t mind. Otherwise I have to get back to collecting these samples for the guys back at the museum.” Zach continued. “Oh and I don’t know if you heard me when the fight started, my name’s Zach.” Passing the container he was holding to his left hand, Zach held out his right for the man in red.

"I suppose I could go for an actual spar if your good for it, unless you've got some trick you decided not to pull out on him I think I'll stick to my base strength so that we can have a real fight." Ryota said as he shook Zach's hand. "I did catch your name before the fight, though I don't believe I had a chance to give you mine. My name is Ryota, Captain of the Demon Galleon. If you look up my ship should be relatively close enough for you to see alright considering how high it is it's likely going to look a tad small." Ryota said giving Zach a grin, the guy had heard all of what Dao had said about being a demon and Ryota hadn't particularity tried very hard to hide that he was one as well so why not get the whole 'also a pirate' bit out of the way as well.

"Would you like to spar here on the beach or perhaps on the ship? I might have someone who could patch you up a bit better before we actually spar though if we did spar on the ship a few of my crew might get the impression they your a new recruit." Ryota said with a chuckle. If Kiga happened to be in a decent mood he could probably convince him to whip up something medicinal for Zach, it wouldn't have nearly the same potency as those beans he'd found but you cant really complain with a bit of healing over no healing at all.

“Hmhmhm, no, no hidden tricks. I used almost all of them on him already.” Zach chuckled back and then followed the man’s suggestions and looked up. At first he didn’t spot the vessel hovering high above them, both due to the sun and the fact that it was high enough up so as to be almost undetectable. One however could spot it if they knew it was there, much as Zach had just done.

“Captain eh? Well either that ship is huge and out in orbit or it’s pretty close to the ground. Either way it’s nice to meet you Captain.” Zach responded as he shook the other man’s hand and brought his gaze back down to him. “As for going aboard, I don’t know if I’d want to put your crew out. But if you don’t think it will be a problem, I wouldn’t mind going up and having a look.” the blonde added and placed the second sample drawer down on the sand near the first

"Erg... now that I actually think about it considering what I heard through the portal it may actually be better for us to spar here. Keyra is probably gonna try and kill me the next time I show up and I dont want to take up too much of your time with that fight." Ryota said with a chuckle. "I guess we'll just have to do this here then." He said with a shrug before cracking his neck and dropping into a fighting stance.

"I'll let you start things off considering your already at a bit of a disadvantage because of your fight with the other guy so come at me whenever your ready." Ryota said with a grin as his aura flared up slightly as he powered himself up to his full untransformed power. "If you dont mind me asking how long have you been a fighter for? The skills you displayed in the other fight seem to be that of someone who's been a fighter for a while but from what I've seen that's a rather uncommon trait amongst humans." Ryota asked.

[Zach]

“Heh heh heh, you’ve got a crewman who’s going to try and kill you? Isn’t that mutiny or something?” Zach joked and turned back to face the Captain. “And I may be at a disadvantage…” Zach started and then tensed up as he ascended back into his transformed state with the obligatory flaring of his own crimson aura. “…but that’s no reason to go easy on me.” he added and started to walk closer, stopping about ten feet away and assuming his usual defensive posture.

“And I don’t mind you asking, that’s how we learn right?” the teen replied and then continued. “As for how long, I’ve only been actively picking fights and such for about two years now while I work out my own style. You might have noticed it during the other fight, get hit, and hit back. I guess you could say I’m training myself to be a tank. I didn’t know I showed more experience then the regular guy, but I guess I’ve been at it harder then most, rather then longer, so that would account for it.”

The teen concluded his reply by bolting forward, arms still up in their defensive positions. Once he was within range, Zach tried to level a quick pair of jabs with his left arm, headed for the Captain’s head and then a strait right for the chest. Although his innards still hurt and were making his movements a bit sluggish, he hoped the added power and speed afforded to him by his ascended state would give him enough of an edge to be at the very least, a challenge.

Ryota grinned as Zach came charging at him at full force even despite his injury's, if nothing else he definitely had to respect the guys endurance. Raising his arms in defense Ryota blocked the jabs aimed at his head though while doing so left himself open to the shot at his chest. Deciding to take the offensive now that things had started up Ryota sent a hard kick aimed for Zach's chest hoping to use that to break through Zach's defenses'.

Regardless of how well the kick went Ryota would then follow it up with a quick series of punches and jabs none of which were aimed for anywhere specific, he would end it off by taking a step back putting out his arm and launching a blast of energy at Zach's chest hoping to sent him flying back a bit so that he could start a bit of a ranged assault.

After Zach threw his jabs, landing both only on the Captain’s arms he managed to land the punch to the man’s chest and was in the process of reeling his arm back in when the other took advantage of the hole in his defense. The man leveled a kick into his own chest and forced the boy to stumble back. Thankfully his chest was in much better shape then his abdomen and he took the kick with an accompanying grunt, but no major damage. It did however keep the gap open for another moment while the Captain started to throw a flurry of comparatively lighter punches. One grazed by the side of his head, alerting Zach as to just how fast the man was, another thudding into his chest and the majority of the rest striking his blocking arms.

The blonde weathered the flurry, but Zach’s fore arms were starting to turn red with the constant pounding. After another moment the Captain backed off a step and held a hand out. At once Zach realized what the man was about to do and tried to drop out of the way of the blast, bending backwards onto his hands and feet, except with his chest turned to the sky. Completing the backwards flip as the blast sailed right over him, Zach could feel the energy tingling his skin as it went by, denoting just how close the shot was. End back up on his feet, there was now the range the Captain desired between them, but Zach was on his feet and breathing heavily as he started to gather energy to bring his body armor back up.

Ryota grinned to himself, while things hadn't gone exactly as he had wanted the end result was the same and that was the main thing. Ryota quickly drew his sword and with a grin slashed open a small rift to his immediate left. He would then create and launch a blast of energy through it causing the blast to fly through one end of the rift and out the other with the other half of the rift being a bit above Zach.

Ryota watched Zach to see if his reaction to the attack, so far Miles had been the only one to really figure out how the rifts worked fast enough to use it against Ryota and even then Ryota was rather certain that was only because he'd watched and experienced a rift itself before there fight. With any luck however Zach would catch on quickly and at the very least be able to dodge some of the attacks he'd be throwing out through his rifts.
