Serori flew over the mountain in the direction of the Gengoro Islands. She had been dismissed from Mount Paozu after the disappearance of Kotan. Although the other two Saiyans were their adversaries, the WTO trio did have morals and honour. Or at least Serori did, and she assumed Jorlaxl and Caius did as well, as they had dismissed her to even out the fights. She was fine with this, as it allowed her "free" time to deal with her business whilst she looked for dragonballs for her beloved Suki.
She flew low over the trees, enjoying the breeze, listening to bees, saw a deer on her knees, giving birth as she pleased, heard a bear wheeze, dropped her house keys, was late for her fees, and I think I've gone on too far with this. She skimmed the water, laughing quietly to herself as the misted spray flew into her, cooling off her heated body. She didn't feel bad, she felt more lawful evil. This visit to her parents was just something that had to be done. Perhaps she wouldn't even kill them, just rough them up a bit. Maybe not even that, maybe just talk, she was feeling in a very good mood after all.
And after she was done, Wonder Island was a great place to search for the Dragon Ball. After all, it was well deserted, and only filled with mystical creatures. That, and atop a mountain would be ideal places to find them, and Caius and Jorlaxl were already taking care of on top of the mountain. Hell, hadn't Komatsuna returned to Earth?! After all, that's what he told her last time they had met. Maybe she might run into him, and say hey. Fuck, this trip could even turn out to be fun.
Serori had been lost in her thoughts, and had almost missed the gates to her parents' mansion. She landed softly, deactivating her Bukujutsu, and took off her shoes. Bowing low to the gates as was custom, she padded softly along the path. The forest line was just the same as she had left it those years ago when she had stormed off. It was always where she went when she needed to think. The animals weren't too loud here, and she could think clearly as she walked through the trees, wind whistling in the leaves. Serori felt that she may actually enjoy seeing her parents again.
She arrived at the grounds gates, and bowed low once more. She didn't see any signs of anybody, but the house was fairly well kept, so that meant they hadn't left it. The dojo doors were closed, the shed was locked, and the house door was in front of her. She took a step towards it, and noticed a vehicle in the drive way. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be her older brother's. 'So Alex is home,' she thought to herself. 'I haven't seen him since three years before I left.' Serori was even more excited. This was turning out to be a wonderful reunion after all.
Serori stepped up to the door and knocked. It was quickly opened by Mrs. Redthew, looking big and strong as ever. Upon seeing Serori, she gasped, jumped, landed with a resounding thud, and tears began welling in her eyes. Serori hadn't expected this kind of greeting, and was unsure as to how to react. "Alex! Alex! Come here! You'll never guess who it is! Oh my goodness, Alex! Come here!" Her mom shouted, calling to both Serori's brother and father. There were thunderous steps as both father and son came running around the corner, to see their sister and daughter, respectively. Both of them teared up as well, and both let out huge gasping sobs.
'It's remarkable how similarly they look alike,' Serori thought to herself, as she was hugged, passed, kissed on the cheek, squeezed. 'Alex has grown up looking just like his dad. But me...I don't look like anybody. I look like myself.' Everybody was crying except for Serori, going on and on about how they had missed her, should have told her from the very beginning, how it wasn't the same without her, and how glad they were to have finally forgiven them. Both the male's sobs were louder and more emotional than Serori's mother. 'Forgiven them? They think that just because I've come to see them I've forgiven them?' But she pushed her thoughts aside. She might as well enjoy them while she was here.
"So, how has your life been? What have you been up to?" Mrs. Redthew asked.
"Oh, well, I went to planet Vegeta..."
"Was it fun?! What all did you do there? Did you meet some new people?"
"Mom, don't interrupt me. I'm not finished yet. I went to Vegeta. I felt...lonely, and mad, and I didn't know anybody. But I found a dojo, and continued my training. There, I met an android, who apparently fell in love with me. But after leaving you all, I realised that I couldn't have a commitment like that. I told him to go, and..."
Serori's mom cut her off again.
"An Android! And you say he was in love with you? Well why didn't you marry him, why did you let him go? What if it turned out he was the one for you, and..."
"Mom! I told you not to interrupt me! Sheesh..." Serori was getting slightly perturbed at her mom's continued interruptions, but she let it slide. "As I was saying, he left, and came to Earth and don't even think about interrupting me mom and then I got a job at a noodle shop. I was making some good money, but then one day, I came back and everybody was...dead...almost as if," Serori shuddered at the mental image she had retained of the deceased bodies. "As if they had been sucked dry of their life energy. They were sacks of bones and skin...but, no, I skipped a part. The day before that, before everybody was killed, when I was being a waitress, I was approached by this weird lizard man, or something. He spoke this weird language, and it was like I could understand it. I couldn't hear what he said, but the words showed up in my head...he told me that only I could save them. And he left. And where he had grabbed my arm," here Serori pulled up her sleeve, "there was this star, on my wrist." She showed her family, and they all ooed and aawed.
"Well, all that is quite interesting. But, if you lost your job, how did you get here?"
"Well, you see, I went back to my space pod, which I am much too big for, and continued my training by myself. But I wasn't alone. Apparently I was being followed by two members of the WTO." At this, her parents gasped.
"You mean, THE WTO? Led by Touketsuki Yakedo?! My, you should be glad you were lucky to survive!"
Serori laughed. Lucky to survive? What were her idiot human parents talking about? "What do you mean? They followed me and..." She thought better of mentioning her killing her real parents. After all, if her Earth parents were to suffer the same fate, she didn't want them to have any notice. "...and, while I was training they approached me. I was drained from the...from all the training I had done, and they said they had been following me for some time, liked the look of my power. We had a brief spar, and I was beaten badly, but they let me join them. We...um, well, we went to a museum and...yeah, we went to a museum, and then back to their Lord's ship. Where I...I met their Lord, and he allowed me to join."
Her parents stared in shocked silence, barely able to believe her. Their daughter had joined THE Touketsuki Yakedo? They began to say something, but Serori was quicker on the uptake.
"Well, I'm famished. Do you want some help cooking dinner?"
Her mother, startled slightly, stuttered only a little. "Y-yes, I would. Tonight we were going to have steak. Would you mind helping, dear?" Serori went into the kitchen, while the men helped set the table.
Serori and her mom cooked and talked, like all women do. But the subject seemed kind of odd to Serori.
"So, this...Touketsuki Yakedo. What is, what is he like?"
Serori had to think for a second. She'd never properly met him, she'd just seen and heard about him. "Well, he's...he looks different than either you or I, but very handsome...almost...devilish." Serori giggled, just thinking about him. "And he, he's very regal, and proper. He treats us all well. But above all else, he is very very powerful. That's why I joined him. I wanted to become as strong as possible. I don't think anybody could ever defeat Suki. And if they did, well...just between you and me, I would have to join them. I mean, it only makes sense if I want to be as strong as I say. It's not a matter of loyalty, I wouldn't think of leaving him while he was alive."
Serori's mom just pursed her lips, and didn't say anything. Serori took no notice, and continued peeling potatoes.
At the dinner table, the topic was resumed, this time by her dad.
"I heard that Suki attacked our...both of our planets."
Serori thought about this, chewing. "I wouldn't call it, attack. He gave them ample warning. He told them what he wanted, and gave them plenty of time to get it to him." She swallowed. "In the circumstances, he seems plenty fair. I see no reason for people to disobey him. Planet Earth did so, and look what happened to Central City. And Boliko from my race, he didn't comply either, and his top general was killed. Both of our planets got what was coming to them."
Her dad sat still, looking past Serori. He swallowed, and then spoke up. "Serori, when I said both of our planets...before Yakedo even came to earth, before he was even over this way...There's a little planet, near Kold. Small planet, very low population. Smaller even than a moon. Well, Yakedo blew it up. One of his first acts of terrorism. Took him just a thought to do it. And boom, there went all of my people." He looked up at Serori, tears in his eyes. "I was their ruler. I had mounted an attack team, and they were wiped out instantly. So I took your mother, and I flew away. I left that planet, just to save myself." He looked down, shaking, but pulled himself together, and continued eating. He spoke shortly after. "But if you think joining Suki is the right thing to do, then, well...You're 32, there's not much I can do to stop you. But I want you to keep in mind what I told you. If you ever find a way you can get out of that mess, that rabble, I would like for you to do so."
These words touched Serori's heart, but not in the way that her father had more than likely anticipated. Instead of having a change in heart, Serori's anger at her parents was hardened even more. This was two lies that she had grown up with. For thirty two years, they never told her they weren't human. But now she thought about it, they were much too tall and big to be humans. They were probably much stronger as well.
Dinner was finished, and Serori retired to her old room, but not before she was approached by her dad.
"Serori, I've...I've been saving this up for you, since you left, four years ago. I wanted you to have this. It's...it is a lot of money. You can make it of much more use than I can. I've got all I could ever want with your mom, and this house...I don't need this." He pushed his hand into hers, and Serori closed her hand. Inside she felt a bundle of Zeni. She didn't look at it, just put it in her pocket. "Now, you go to bed, you need your sleep. I can tell you're tired. Goodnight." Serori yawned, and repeated the goodnight to her dad, before they went into their seperate rooms.
She lay in her bed. It was just like she had left it, four years ago. She lay down, and thought about everything that had transpired that night. Her parents were against Suki, and that meant that they were against Serori. But, that didn't mean....
Serori heard whispers coming from the grate in her ceiling. She had always used that to eaves drop on her parents when she was little. Later, she'd covered it up, when she had realised that it was immoral. But the covering had come off while she was gone, and her parents' voices drifted through.
"We have to keep her here while our forces attack Touketsuki. We have enough people to do it this time, I don't see why..."
"You don't understand. I don't want to make the same mistake I did last time. I'm not going to let them just die."
"I know, honey, but this time, we're prepared. For 8 years, they've trained, they are ready for this. We have to take down Yakedo. And we need to keep Serori here while it happens. I don't want her to be broken hearted again..."
"What are you talking about?"
"In the kitchen, Serori told me...I think she's fallen in love with the Icer."
A fist pounded a bed. "Damn! I knew something was up with our little girl. He's brain washed her."
"Oh, honey, don't say that! I'm sure it's just the loss she's been feeling..."
"Be that as it may...alright, I think I have a plan. Alex and I will take her to the dojo for a quick training session, while you run out and mobilise the troops. Then we'll..." a sigh "I'll knock Serori out, and keep her safe until the Icer has been defeated. Then, we can tell her the truth, God knows she deserves it."
"Alright...I'll try my best. Goodnight Alex, I love you."
"I love you too Darlene."
Serori had heard enough. In her head, she formulated her own secret plan. This was too far. Even though they were her parents, they had to be dealt with. She fell asleep, thinking about what she would do tomorrow. It was horrible, but it had to be done.
