It was possible to dodge it, it was certainly powerful but he could split into several versions of himself and split, so to speak. He could of ran back through the bar; it would have surely slowed down the blast.
But in the end he realized that the bar was truly the only place he had left, and Barnabus was the closest thing he had to a friend. Escape would surely mean their deaths and the destruction of the bar.
"Goddamn old mystic and her damn curse... I hate having a conscience!"
Tightening every muscle his burning aura appeared once more as he gathered every last bit of energy within himself. His muscles bulged slightly and a throbbing vein appeared in his right bicep. Finally the attack reached him. It had actually only been a few seconds but to him it had felt like a lifetime.
Extending his arms, he held his palms forward and caught the ball. He pushed and pushed, but the ball didn't budge. Instead he noticed his feet slowly dragging backwards in the sand; edging him and the massive attack closer to the bar. Whether through sheer panic or awe, not a single saiyan moved. They all just stared and waited; and hoped.
The old mystic's memories started to surge through him, all her loves gave him strength, all her pain gave him vigor. The thought of the bar and all of its inhabitants being incinerated burned in him, like nothing had effected him before.
"AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"
With all his might he grasped the ball with his very fingers, gripping it tightly, and pulled it up until it was burning against his cheek. With a primal roar he threw himself backwards while simultaneously throwing his hands up as hard as his body would allow. The massive ball of ki flew upwards, just narrowly skimming a small section of the roof before flying off. A few moments later the sky was framed by a massive explosion.
Stumbling backwards, and no longer with the strength to catch himself, Sohko fell. He landed flat with his limbs outstretched. With every ounce of energy drained from him, he felt unconsciousness creeping upon him. The last thing he sees is the bar standing strong and Barnabus and company unharmed...
"Good..."
Then darkness.
