Pressing his right hand to the wall Ark would use it to support himself. Already breathing heavy he would look over at Master Diki, the older man seeming just fine despite the long sparring session they had been having. No matter how long the two sparred against each other, or how many days in a row Rushi never seemed to get tired. It was if the old skin he wore was some sort of disguise or illusion, his strength and stamina closer to that of a man the age of Ark… but apparently in better shape. Shoving off the wall Ark would move back towards the center of the room, taking a couple of deep breaths to steady himself.
“So, do you wish to continue Ark, or do you need a break?” *Rushi would grin a little at the comment, knowing full well that Ark would continue until he truly could no longer force himself to fight.
Rolling his shoulders some the younger man would narrow his eyes some, not missing how much the old Master Diki seemed to enjoy pushing him to his limits. It was if he got some sort of enjoyment out of seeing Ark drop to the floor in exhaustion.
“I am ready when you are Rushi, do not try and prolong your break by babbling.” *Lifting his arms up Ark would drop back into his stance, both of his arms out before him so that he could easily defend against strikes.
Seeing he was ready Master Diki would come towards him, his old legs carrying him towards his opponent with ease as he pulls back his right fist. Sending in a right handed strike for Ark’s left shoulder would only be the set up for his true attack. Seeing Ark lift his hand up to deflect that blow the Master would follow up with his left hand, reaching in to smack the young man’s right arm out to the side. With one hand up to deflect the blow towards his shoulder and his other hand knocked out to the side Ark’s body would be open for actually attack. Quicker than one would ever believe the man was capable of moving, Rushi’s left foot would snap up, planting a solid kick into the center of Ark’s chest.
With both his arms out to the side Ark figured he must have looked pretty open, but he had seen through the man’s right handed strike and had not put all of his strength into deflecting the blow. Instead of trying to shove Rushi’s fist out wide he would snap his arm back in, grabbing the old man around the ankle before it connects with his chest. Lifting the captured leg up higher Ark would then step in pushing in towards his opponent as his left leg snaps out to catch Rushi in the knee. With a small cry of surprise Master Diki would lose his balance and start to topple to the ground, slamming down on his back.
“Not as tricky as you think, are you old man?” *It was more of a jest then anything, not cockiness in Ark’s tone for he knew that he was indeed fighting against a skilled opponent.
Once the old man hit the ground Ark’s other hand would come in to grab onto his ankle as well. Starting to turn he would pull on the man’s leg, lifting his prone form from the ground. Turning in a one hundred and eighty degree turn he would then let go of his leg, launching him through the air. Ark would of course not throw the man with all the strength he could muster; not wanting to toss him into the far wall, but it would be enough to send him a good distance across the large room.
As Rushi sails through the air he would start to realign himself, twisting in the air so that instead of hitting the ground on his back like Ark intended he would land in a roll, somersaulting and hopping right back to his feet before turning to face the young man. “Pretty spry for an old man, aren’t I?” Shaking out his leg he would come right back for Ark, as Ark once again drops back into his customary stance, arms up.
Closing the distance with more speed this time he would start to send in strikes, Ark doing his best to deflect blow after blow. The two would be evenly matched for speed, their hands deflecting blows and sending in counter strikes only to be deflected in turn. Watching Rushi’s strikes the younger of the fighters was starting to see what he thought was a pattern and that would lead to an opening. Letting him continue Ark would continue to block before shifting back a step so that one of his Master’s strikes would fall just short of his chest. With a small smirk Ark steps in, lifting his foot to drive it into the man’s gut.
To Ark’s disappointment the blow would never land, the opening he had seen quickly disappearing. With his open palm facing Ark’s chest Rushi would wear a smirk of his own as a small blast of ki launches from his hand, slamming right into Ark. The blast would knock the younger man right off his feet, and launching him back through the air to land roughly on his back with a groan.
“…I though you said… no ki blasts…” *Shaking his head some Ark would prop himself up on his elbows as he looks over at Master Diki, his right eyebrow raised to accompany his statement and show his confusion.
Tucking his arms behind his back Rushi would casually walk towards his student, that small smirk still on his face. “And do you think your opponent is always going to fight fairly? Sure when we spar I might always stick to our rules, but what if you get into some sort of scuffle out in the real world?”
Sighing some Ark could only nod at the logic. “You’re right… as usual. However I wouldn’t go so easy on someone out in the field.” It was not a serious statement at all, for Ark had been giving it his all and in reality would avoid a fight if he could, going all out against a real opponent was the last thing he wanted to do.
Stepping up to the young man Rushi would extend his hand to offer Ark assistance to get to his feet. Of course Ark would take it and hop up to his feet with the assistance of his Master. “I will get you next time Rushi, especially if you play by the rules.”
“Oh I am sure you will, but remember this lesson well.”
“Everything is a lesson with you isn’t it? I should have known better.”
