Hogg’s eyes went wide when he saw the combined attack rocketing towards him. He leapt out way and the blast rocketed by him chuckling all the while. That was all the pair had left. Hogg stood up and brushed himself off. He walked over to T’bok, chuckling as he crushed the gorilla’s windpipe with a massive hoof. He shot some quills at the smaller android for good measure, the foot long spikes impaling the small female android. She let out a small moan before the lights in her eyes faded forever. The monster turned to face the android and the Namekian with a wicked grin on his bloodied snout. His was the victory. They were scum, barely even worth his time to finish off. Still they had given him a hell of a fight, and he supposed he owed them a warrior’s death at least.
The Namekian was already unconscious; the android just knelt grasping his crushed arm, mouth agape looking up stupefied as the boar sauntered over to them, rain pouring down all around them.
“You put up a hell of a fight android. You all did. Be proud of that. You die a warrior’s death.” The boar stepped on the Namekian’s head squishing the brain matter around with his hoof. He gripped a quills off of his back and felt the point, it would do the job. He walked over to the android. The blue bitch appeared again but Hogg was ready for that, he bashed her away with a backhand.
He lifted the android’s head up to face him, but his eyes showed that he was somewhere else, somewhere far away. He held the locket up to his face and the android’s eyes were brought into focus. He stared at Hogg questioningly, no malice visible on his face. Just despair. Complete and utter despair.
“I wish you could have joined me android. I could have used someone like you.” Hogg sighed, He brought the quill around in an arc and jammed it through the android’s head, ripping off another just as quickly and jamming it through his heart. The android let out a death rattle and fell over onto his face. Dead.
Or that’s what Hogg had intended to happen anyway…
He went to dive out of the way, but T’bok grabbed him from behind around the waist, all the gorillas strength used to fasten the giant boar to his spot. Hogg looked down horrified when he found he couldn’t move.
“What are you doing?!” He shrieked as he kicked T’bok away and went to dodge... but it was too late. The uni-beam blasted through his chest while Orenji’s move blew up on contact. Hogg was blasted away, blood pouring from the hole in his chest. Drexx stood and walked over to Orenji, still clutching his shattered left arm. The Namekian was breathing, thank the kais.
T’bok came up behind Drexx and patted him lightly on the back. They had done it. Against all odds they had won. Tina came up and joined them as well. The crowd around them sat in stunned silence. Drexx scanned the crowd warily, if they decided they didn’t like the outcome, could the three of them fight off that many? Drexx turned to T’bok, a smile was plastered on the gorilla’s face.
“What happens now?” He asked, still looking at the crowd with cautious eyes.
“Now we rebuild. We start over. Gone are the days when we were just a mindless group of animals following that pig around. We begin life as a peaceful culture today. There may be some among us who don’t like it, but for the majority it’s what we’ve wanted all along.” The sun came out as T’bok spoke the words, as if a sign from the gods that everything was going to be okay.
Tina walked up, a locket secure around her neck.
“I got my locket back!” she flipped it open and inside was a picture of her mother and father. Drexx smiled a very weak smile. They had done everything for this. And nothing had been more important. They had come for a locket, but stayed for freedom, for the right to live in peace for all manner of Anthropomorphs.
“Make sure to keep in touch Drexx. You and Orenji are welcome here any time Brothers.” He raised his hands in victory and the crowd went wild. An anthropomorphic koala approached them with a small tattooing kit.
“If I may.” He said holding it up. Drexx presented his right shoulder and sat calmly as the koala tattooed a tribal mark on the android’s shoulder.
“This will forever mark you as an ally of Anthropomorphs everywhere.” T’bok said, patting Drexx on the shoulder. Drexx gave him a weak smile; the koala went over and talked to Orenji.
“I think it’s time to go home.” He said weakly.
“I’d like that.” Tina said weakly as well. They had been through hell and back, and it had all been worth it. Drexx walked over and helped Orenji to his feet. From there they would make their way back to Central city. Drexx needed repairs, and Orenji needed rest.
