Point A to Point B in Zero Seconds Flat

As Toshio’s fake punch diverted Zach to block his lower regions by dropping his elbow, he was glad to see Zach’s face open up and he watched as his left fist landed against the face of the blonde boy. Toshio however, was surprised as Zach as launched his own attack as well, his left fist colliding with Toshio’s face just as Toshio’s attack had done. Zach’s punch forced Toshio to stagger backwards a bit, and he was surprised when he saw the blonde wonder go on the offensive, coming at him with a barrage of punches that ranged in location. Toshio could start to feel the strain of the gravity lessen as he trained in it, becoming more and more use to the gravity as time went on. Toshio managed to collect himself in time to block most of the strikes from Zach, however a few got past his guard and struck in the stomach and neck area.

After more intense blocking, he would try and counter a few of Zach’s punches, aiming his at around the head and neck region of Zach. Yes, the time to stop training and getting more acquainted and less strain from the gravity was nearing, soon he would be showing Zach how the Instant Transmission worked.

Sweat ran down every inch of Zach's skin as he pressed his flurry of punches, his body straining under the intense gravitational pull of the chamber. Actually managing to land a few of the shots, Zach could see that the sudden change in tactics had worked and tripped Toshio up enough to put him off guard. The other man was probably expecting Zach to run through the same old routine, but why would the teen do that when it never got him the result he wanted with the older man. No, their spars never ran the way Zach wanted so the blonde was going to ensure it didn't run the way Toshio wanted either. They'd already had a loud, vocal argument over this very issue some five years prior and it seemed the man just wasn't going to change. Proof of this came readily as the black haired instructor attempted to counter Zach's onslaught with punched aimed up high. The boy's defenses were however geared for just this kind of attack though and in spite of the sluggishness of his muscles thanks to the combined resistance of the gravity and his training weights, the blonde managed to weave his head to the side and avoid the first shot. His arms closed up into an iron clad guard about his head and the boy once again took up a stationary footing as he blocked the remainder of Toshio's punches. 'For a teacher, he just doesn't seem that open to learning.' Zach grumbled to himself in the privacy of his own mind while the black haired man fruitlessly probed his upper defenses.

As Toshio continued to block most of Zach’s punches, he watched as his counter punches missed, slightly grunting at Zach’s ability to dodge or block them all. Of course, Toshio knew of Zach’s ‘weakness’, but his morals, as always for his student’s and the people he cared about, he would not exploit them, only on rare occasions such as the strike a while ago. He firmly wanted to NOT severaly injure or take advangtage of the people of the Victory school, espically one’s he had know for so long such as Zach. Could he? Yes Would it maybe help Zach learn to defend his tomach region bbetter? Possibly, but Toshio would let that sink in somewhere else, not by him. Besides, he knew that was Zach’s fighting style and he was very sure that the young man would not change it regardless.

As the Zach offensive attacks continued, Toshio found himself getting better and better acquainted with the gravity and found himself blocking more and more of Zach’s quick offensive shots. Finally, Toshio would jump back form the close quarters encounter and attempt a quick leg sweept, hoping to knock the young boy off his feet. Regardless if that hit or missed, Toshio would do a few back flips, the gravity still straining his shoulders and body as he flipped, but he managed to complete them anyhow. Putting considerable distance between himself and the blonde wonder. Toshio would then crack his neck before speaking.

“Hmm…See this little spar has allowed me to get better acquainted with the gravity, if you don’t mind, would you care to start the Instant Transmission pointers? I can provide a long speech about the mechanics and what not or I can show you physically and give you the mort important stuff. Which would you prefer Zach?”

Toshio would then stand still; awaiting from Zach which option the young man would want. Toshio, for the most part had gotten use to the gravity and he felt like he could perform a few Instant Transmission without breaking down and having his energy all spent. After all, he didn’t want to look ‘weak’ in front of Zach, at least not physically.

[Zach]

Sweat still rolling down his body, Zach weathered the remainder of Toshio's punches, the other man's fists thudding against the blonde boy's forearms. When Toshio finally relented and jumped back to execute his sweep, Zach jumped as well, essentially playing jump rope with the man's leg being the rope. The intense gravity though caused the teen's landing to literally shake the room. Seeing Toshio back away, Zach did the same and waited to see what the other had in store next. To his surprise, Toshio seemed ready to drop the spar and move on to the actual reason Zach had brought him here, which of course Zach couldn't turn down.

"Sure." Zach responded and lowered his arms. Trudging back towards Toshio he took a few deep breaths to try and reenergize himself and stopped a few feet away. "Well if you show me step by step I'm pretty sure I can work out the mechanics. I did after all pick up those eye lasers simply from a description in a book." the blonde responded and stood by waiting for his instruction.

During his back flipping, he managed to catch Zach easily dodging his attempted leg sweep and after finished what he had to show in the Instant transmission intro, he would listen to Zach as he wanted to know how it was done, so Toshio smiled Physically show it is then. Toshio would slowly put two fingers to his forehead and then he would speak to Zach, telling him why he was doing so.

“Okay Zach, the Instant Transmission requires a ki signature in order to work. I’m actually not even sure you can do it without having some sense of energy sensing. The reason I put two fingers to my head is to better focus on my intended energy signature, my use of it and constant training has allowed me to search out the entire Earth and appear next to or near anyone, even if their ki signature is very faint. As long as it’s their, I can go there like so.”

Taking a few minutes to think of a target, he wanted someone or something from far away that Zach would recognize, after a few seconds it came to mine and within seconds, Toshio would be gone from the gravity room, instantly he was on top of the lookout, he spotted the person he used to get here, Nam, only stopping for a few seconds to wave and not speak, he would pluck a few flowers from the Garden that was so nicely made, and within seconds he would be gone again and back in the Gravity room with zach, a few flowers in his hand. Zach was the one who was tending to the garden, and he would most likely recognize the flowers. All of it took maybe 5 seconds from the start of his energy signature to now.

“I take it you recognize these? Instant Transmission is just that, it’s instant. The only time I used was to find the energy target and the time to pick the flowers. It’s a great way to travel across vast distances in the blink of an eye. In battle, I can hone in on the enemy’s signature and ‘dance’ around the battlefield, however it comes at a cost for new users. It’s very energy costly if not trained properly, and the only person I know of that’s better than me with it is Suki. I sense…over the past 5 years he could have improved on it even greater than I. I hope that I’m wrong in that aspect though. Anyway, two major points. 1.It costs a good amount of energy and 2. It needs a ki signature to lock onto. Without one, it would be extremely hard to perform this technique. Any questions? Oh…and here you might want these.”

He handed Zach the flowers and would wait to see what Zach’s reaction would be, would he have any questions? Would he be able to do it without being able to sense energy? Toshio did not know and would simple wait now.

Standing and listening intently, Zach mentally took down what Tosh was telling him but so far it wasn't anything he didn't already know. He already knew that locking onto an energy signature as a point of guidance was going to be difficult unless Rito was involved and so had already resigned himself to the fact that his own use of the technique would have to be within shorter distances. What he needed to know was exactly how his energy had to be manipulated to achieve the instantaneous travel. However before he could voice this, Toshio had vanished. "Great..." Zach grumbled and waited for the man to reappear as he likely would.

As predicted a few moments later Toshio literally popped back into view and continued on while holding a hand full of tropical flowers. Zach did indeed recognize them as the types he usually tends to on the lookout, a good hour's flight away from the school and example of how fast one could travel with the technique. But again, this was something the boy already knew, he'd travelled with Gurin at least twice using this mode of travel and both times felt like his stomach had been turned inside out, although that was likely just due to the fact that he was a passenger and not the one executing the technique. Finally though Toshio handed him the flowers and took a breath after asking Zach if he had any questions. Frankly the first one on the blonde's mind was 'How did you learn to hold your breath for so long.' but the joke was in bad taste considering the fact that Toshio was here to help him so Zach shelved it for another time.

"Yeah, I don't want to sound rude, but I do know a lot of what you just explained. I already know I’m going to have to practice using Rito since his is the only energy I can sense and that if I hope to use this without him, it's only going to be for very short hops." Zach explained is as respectful a voice as he could and then went on. "What I don't know is how do I manipulate my energy to affect the transit?"

Upon returning from the lookout and gathering the flowers, and then giving them to Zach. He was a little bit surprised that Zach knew all of the stuff he just did but was rather curious as to HOW he actually did it, focusing the point on how to use his energy, Toshio smiled and shook his head before speaking.

“Ah, I did not know that the books we had on this technique were so well detailed in the actual transmission itself. Hmm, well then how to focus you energy, you have to focus your ki, your whole being, into a single point. Collect yourself altogether in one spot at once. And then you focus on another ki, and tell it to, your body, to focus on that single point. However, being you don’t know how to sense signatures, this aspect could apply to you very much so. Just concentrate on a single point and feel your body and that point, out.”

Once he was finished Toshio would wait for the young man to head his words, and maybe even give it a go himself. Constant and physical Practice was always good though…right?

[Zach]

Zach didn't know the technical jargon or even that what Toshio was describing was very much like quantum teleportation, but the boy was starting to understand the concept. Essentially he would have to flood his body with his own energy, there by entangling his matter with the energy. Then by projecting a copy of that energy elsewhere and eliminating the original energy, the quantum entangled matter would be transported to the location of the copied energy. Again though the technical wording was far beyond the teen's understanding, all he did understand from the explanation that the dark haired man gave him was a general understanding of the mechanics involved and the knowledge that he would definitely have to practice this technique to keep it from being anything but a power hog. To flood one's entire body with enough power to entangle one's very matter would consume a substantial quantity. Then to copy that energy and direct it elsewhere would double, if not more, the cost. Zach could very easily see himself being exhausted after just one or two attempts but at least he now understood how to execute the technique.

"Ok... I think I've got this." Zach replied, nodding at the other man and took a few steps away, putting his back nearly against one of the gravity chamber walls. Between the physical drain on his body from the chamber and this technique's power drain, it was going to completely wipe out the teenager's strength within one or two tries so Zach was ready to simply fall back against the wall should the strain become too intense. Toshio of course would likely know that the blonde was exhausted at this point and shut down the gravity mechanism, but until then they were still under the full force of thirty earth gravities.

Focusing his vision on the opposite corner of the room, Zach started to build up his not inconsiderable energy reserves. As he did so, the boy mimicked Toshio's motion of putting his fingers to his head, however given he was executing the technique on sight alone, and could not sense any energy other then Rito's and his own, what ever placebo-esqu additional focus the motion may have provided the older man, it was entirely ineffectual to the younger blonde. And so after a moment of wondering why he even tried, Zach dropped his arm and continued to focus. His energy level steadily climbed as his body flooded with more and more energy. Once the boy felt he was sufficiently flooded, he directed, at least in his mind, where his energy would obey, a second mass of energy identical to the first, across the room to the opposing corner. The strain was telling as Zach's whole body started to tremble with the intensity of both his determination and rapidly accelerating exhaustion. Then, once the boy was sure the energy had been properly placed, he let go of the energy within his body and was immediately consumed by a sensation of utter disorientation. An instant later he found himself staring directly at the corner, less then a foot away, transported there in an instant as if propelled by some snapping, quantum rubber band. The effort though was took much even on the first try and so only a moment after succeeding and realizing he'd managed to teleport himself across the room, Zach collapsed backwards, hitting the chamber floor with a thunderous crash.

"Errrrr... I... think it... worked..." Zach chocked out between labored breaths and then closed his eyes, content to let Toshio take care of shutting the gravity system down and if need be, carry him back to his quarters, although the latter certainly wouldn't be very dignified.

Toshio would wait patiently watching as the young blonde tried to use what he had just told him. As Toshio’s eyes concentrated on Zach, he watched as the young man boy the two finger’s to his forehead and was seemingly gathering his energy to hopefully explode it outward and complete the instant transmission by moving across the room. As the seconds passed, Toshio continued to watch Zach stand their, possibly trying to concentrate hard enough to complete the technique. Toshio was about to speak up, asking what could be the problem for Zach, however there was not a problem except maybe time as Zach disappeared from the spot he was previously at and appeared a few feet away.

Toshio smiled at the young boy, he had done it. His smile quickly disappeared though when Zach fell backwards, exhausted from the quick moving technique. Immediately Toshio rushed to the gravity machine and turned it off, the intense gravity releasing and returning to normal Earth gravity. Toshio would then make his way to the exhausted young man, smile at him and then speak a few words.

“You did well blondie. You can train more on that later however, that move exhausted you and it’s almost time for my classes to start. Come on; let’s get you to the medical wing to rest. Don’t need you dying of exhaustion. I’m not quite ready to come out of retirement to be Headmaster again….yet.”

He chuckled at the small joke he made and started to help Zach to his feet before they both made their way to the medical wing. Once they got their, Zach was helped by nurses into a bed for some quick resting to regain his energy back and then Toshio would be off to his first class of the day. Happy that Zach had did something that he thought at first would be impossible without sensing ki energy. However, he shouldn’t be too surprised. Zach had always been special and seemingly defied the odds at every corner. He was a special man that Zach, and Toshio, as well as everybody in the school knew that.
