The students were doing remarkably well, using both teamwork and on the spot reaction-thinking. Smiling in spite of himself, he mentally noted to himself to congratulate the duo on their work together. However, he had to focus on the katana-wielding monsters lunging right at him. Using his afterimage technique, Jorlaxl's previous location was replaced with merely an illusory image of him. The real one was behind the lot of these samurai. The beasts gleefully cut and slashed their way through the illusion, their smiles turning quickly from joy, to confusion, to anger.

Raising his arms, Jorlaxl shot out missiles of ki from his outstretched fingertips, countless amounts of them streaming from his hands, all aimed at these abominations. Almost all of them reached their targets. The samurai, preoccupied with the fading image of the false master they killed, weren't prepared for the missiles. Tearing through flesh, these blasts exploded after hitting their mark, leaving nothing left of the wouldbe assassins. Only tattered cloths remained, drifting lazily through the air towards the ground. Nodding, Jorlaxl gently floated to the ground, meeting back up with Drexx and Ike.

"What's happening? Are there any more?"

With the thing around his ankle dead, Drexx stood and inspected the area around where the spikes had pierced his flesh. The skin was eaten away and blacked, exposing the wiring underneath. If he had been an organic creature, he shuddered to think what that might have done. What that might have done to one of the students. He was glad he Jorlaxl and Ike had been able to handle the demons as they appeared.

Who were these demons? Where were they coming from? And most importantly, and perhaps most worry some, was would more come?

Drexx walked over towards Ike was, Jorlaxl floating down towards them as well, inquiring if there were any more demons. Drexx scanned the area, using the signatures the demons had, and found nothing in the woods. Whatever they were they had come and gone too many slain by the mighty Crane School to continue another attack. They knew better now, this part of the forest was protected.

“I can’t sense anymore, I believe that is the last of them master.” Drexx bowed to his master. He looked over at the finished chamber, glad they had managed to finish building it before the demons had come.

“Master if it’s perfectly alright I’d like to go analyze this poison. If any more of those demons come back we’ll need to have anti-venom available to the students.”

Drexx lifted up into the air, ready to make his way back to his home and lab at his masters approval. It had also been a long day, and the android was feeling rather low on power.

The last of the demons had been dispatched. Their black blood rained upon the temple floor and hissed into an ebony vapor.

The demons had breached the school grounds with ease. It was fortunate that none of the students were not hurt in the assault but Ike could not help but feel fear expanding a grasp on his mind.

"More will come..." Ike painfully thought.

This was just the beginning. It was his duty as the school's silent guardian.

The Protector began to fly away into the warm, breezy sky leaving Ike alone to watch Master herd the students in the school. Ike was alone here. The winds of change were skirting the dead autumn leaves past Ike's paws and he watched them as they disappeared into the setting sun.
