Aice had been lying in his bed for a while, looking at the ceiling. The soft sounds of ship hummed, slowly in the background. They were peaceful sounds; they told Aice the ship was healthy (in since) and working correctly. Only when there was a new sound or a sound that was missing Aice knew something was off. Until, recently the ship had been running off new parts and repairs from large star ports. A few months ago, Suki had called Aice to him.
Aice walked into the training chamber, walking cautiously as he did so. He never knew when someone was training inside the chamber; the last time he walked in Gurin had almost hit him with an energy blast. He said it was just an accident but Aice knew otherwise. Gurin had always been trying to get the upper hand on Aice, but as Aice's power grew so did his knowledge of the world around him.
Looking around the room Aice spotted Lord Touketsuki in the corner of the chamber doing push up’s. Aice could tell he was stretching his muscles, after all the gravity wasn't on and he wasn't exerting himself, at least from what Aice could tell.
I wonder what Lord Touketsuki wants from me, usually if we were going to attack a location Gurin would be here in the meeting. It can’t be sparring, granted we are in the training room, but Lord Touketsuki doesn't spar he just kills... well, I've had a good run.
Aice stood in front of his Lord, bowing he said...
"Yes my Lord you called for me?"
Lord Touketsuki was still down in his stretches, barely caring that Aice had talked to him at all. After another minute of Lord Touketsuki stretching, taking a knee he looked at Aice. Even with Lord Touketsuki on his knee he was just barely taller than Aice.
"Aice...how long have you been working underneath me?"
Oh... here it comes...
"Not for very long My Lord, but I've enjoyed every second of it."
"Hmm, yes. Well I've seem to come across a problem that needs to be address now, before it becomes a real nuisance."
Fuck...I wonder how long I would last if I ran...
"The engine is acting up, go take a look at it" Suki said demandingly.
Aice stood there for a second, looking blankly at Lord Touketsuki, taking in what he had just said. Noticing that he had been standing there for a few seconds, he didn't want to keep Lord Touketsuki waiting.
"Is that all my Lord?"
"Yes, quite. I need someone that knows their way around technology, and machines. Since it's between you and Gurin well...it’s not much of a contest. Anyway get down to the engineering room, and do whatever you think is right." Lord Touketsuki said.
Lord Touketsuki stood up and walked out the room leaving Aice standing there alone in the room. Taking a sigh of relief, Aice let out a little chuckle.
Well I feel much better now, I thought that was going to turn out really bad for me, but you never know.
Lord Touketsuki poked his head into the room, and looked out at Aice.
"By the way I thought I might let you know, I can read thoughts." Lord Touketsuki said.
Aice froze in his place looking at Lord Touketsuki.
"So...you know everything that..."
"Very much so, but no worry there is no need for me to end your life, your too useful to my operations...for now at least." Lord Touketsuki said with a smirk. He turned around headed back down the hallway.
If I was wearing pants I would have needed a new pair... let's get to work.
Aice heading down to the bottom of the ship, into the engineering bay. The lower parts of the ship were lit from flood lights, doing so saved power for the ship. The yellowish lights filled the shadows of the hallways with a dark yellowish color.
I'm going to need to change those lights out if I'm going spend a lot of time down here. Maybe a nice white would do these hallways some good.
Aice walked into the main engine room, it was a sight to see. The ship overall was a nice ship, but nobody spent a lot of time down here and it could be seen. There were tools scattered across tables and a black substance pudding on the ground, it reflected back in the yellow light making it look brown.
"Oh boy this is going to need a lot of maintenance and a lot of time. Well I better get to work, it’s not going to clean it's self-up."
