She never felt so truly pathetic in her short life. Has She? Niju stared dully at her hands, spotlessly clean with perfectly cut fingernails. There were still faint red lines criss-crossing the white skin like a cob web, marring her flesh with a crimson disease. The Winner had left her now, sitting on a near by rock sill with a mournful expression on her face. Niju had never felt sad, emotion like that was forbidden to the project in The Gates, and especially the Androids. But losing was much the same, and Niju had done just that.
There, that now familiar sensation of her stomach twisting and her heart hurting. Uncomfortable, she shifted her body, hugging her knees to her chin. A large, white bandage was wrapped around her waist, and underneath her clothes, across her chest. Her wounds still hurt too, but the pain wasn’t a delicious sensation to her anymore, just another scathing reminder of her fight.
A sigh escaped her lips as she leaned back, her eyes staring forlornly at the ceiling. She was feeling strange ever since that fight with The one who name she can't recall. Swallowing hard, she remembered that ever since she arrived back at The Gates, she avoided the other Projects like the plague, and only barely spoke to one other android. The shame over weighed any attempt at social activities, and she was becoming more and more reclusive.
Her expression became pensive as her thoughts traveled to the event the other day. A scientist had blatantly insulted her in her face, and usually, Niku would have mercilessly beat his head in with much glee, but now… she didn’t even touch him, just watched him for a moment before walking back to her room.
This unusual display of mercy unnerved her somewhat, since it was such an outlandish action that she would normally take. Ultimately, she had pinned it down to the after shock of losing the battle, but now, she wasn’t so certain. A shiver trailed up her spine as she bit her lip, chewing on it gently. There was something wrong, and she knew it deep in her bones.
Something else was there.
