Aice was down in the engineering bay sitting in front of a large monitor, with many images on its screen. His hands were flying around on a keyboard, hitting many keys, bring up math equations and graphs on the screen. The equations were advanced math and quantum physics, a normal person wouldn't have understood what the symbols and umber would have meant but Aice wasn't normal, or a person. Each equation was more complex and difficult than the last, but Aice knew what he was doing.
He had found the super computer system a few days ago when he was cleaning up the engineering bay. As he was going through boxes of old parts, and tools, he came across wires that weren't connected to the main engine or any of the lights in the room. Natural curiosity kicked in and Aice followed the wires, finding the computer. After spending some time repairing the console, he got it working; this allowed him to access floods of information about the universe. With all this information at hand he spent days down in the engineering bay, reading, translating, and formulation equations.
He had gone through all the information that the computer had held in its data banks. Now bored he was tinkering with old tools, that were lying around the room. Picking it up and looking at it, he seemed satisfied that it was done, he placed it back down it, and stared at the device.
It’s been like this for days, I'm getting bored down here. I've fixed the engine, changed the light bulbs and gone through all the info in the computer, and that's only taken three days. We've been traveling somewhere but Lord Touketsuki won't tell us were, he says it's a surprised, but I don't much like surprises, being unprepared for something makes it more difficult than need be.
From the over-comm Suki's voice called out...
"Aice get up to the training room immediately, we need to talk."
This again?
"Oh my way, My Lord."
Levitating off the floor, Aice flew down the hallway towards the training room. Flying up past the ladder, and through the hole in the ceiling. Landing in the room, Aice saw Suki waiting for him.
"You called for me, My Lord?"
"Obviously I did...Now that you’re up here I can being. A short time ago I came across a radio signal from a planet not far from here. Unknown to others, this planet was not on any of the data banks; therefore it was easy game and free profit. I would have normally gone there and done my whole tribute routine, but other events came up. Being that I cannot be at two places at once I had to choose, but regardless of my choice this planet still needs to be looted. I would love to go down there too pillage and destroy, but I still have other affairs to deal with at the monument. I'm sending you down there to take care of business."
"If you have other things to take care of, does that mean you'll be leaving me here to take care this by myself?"
"Indeed that is exactly what it means. I’m sure you’re more than capable of doing this yourself. You'll go down to the planet, establish contact with the local populaces, and give them my demands. If they agree with my terms take the money and return back to the ship. If they do not agree, radio back and raze the planet. If the second action happens I will return for you in a week’s time. At that time I will decide on what to do with the planet. Do you understand my orders?"
"Yes My Lord, money or raze."
"Very well, we shall be there shortly, be ready to leave soon."
Suki left the room heading back to his chambers, leaving Aice alone in the room with his thoughts.
My first assignment without Lord Touketsuki guidance, and wisdom…I think I'm ready for this, and I'm not going to let him down. I'll come back with the money or burn the planet to ashes.
