Tanis was very, very busy.
He has been looking down into the North Galaxy lately, and has noticed something most curious. There has been a little fighter garnering attention lately, and not the good kind. He has gathered up a gaggle of fighters, and got it into his head that he's the top dog. He's been traveling throughout the galaxy, and has been harassing a few planets every now and again.
Tanis has kept his eye on him, and has slowly watched his strength grow. Suki’s rise to power wasn’t spectacular, or at all surprising, Icers have a way of becoming powerful. But occasionally, one gets too big for his britches and thinks he can take over. Tanis’ fellow Kais have been laughing at him, calling him crazy. They remember the great Frieza, and remind Tanis what happened to him. Suki wasn't a galactic threat.
Not yet.
Tanis can see the signs. The growing power, the extortion of planets, and even the following he's been getting. These are all signs of something big in the works. Tanis didn't like it. Not one bit. If the other Kais won’t listen to him, then he’ll have to go out on his own. Suki will be a major threat eventually, and if he gets too powerful, than Tanis will be ready and waiting for him. Irresolute, Tanis walked out of his house on a bright new morning completely convinced that he was the one to defeat Suki.
And the worst part was that Suki wouldn’t be the last of them. More villains will sprout up seemingly out of nowhere, and will stop at nothing to see the world destroyed. Some men just want to watch the universe burn. Tanis didn’t quite understand why. Why would they destroy everything that was so beautiful?
Well, first things first; Tanis needed money, and a lot of it. Being a Kai and enjoying the benefits were one thing, but he needed weighted armor, and fast. He understands how the world works: he could train all he wants, but it’ll be shadowed by the results of the students who trained with weighted armor. This was one of the first lessons he taught the people who trained under him.
Gathering his thoughts and walking outside, he started thinking about all of the ways he could gather money. Going in and out of libraries, stores, and other public places, he managed to find some people who owed money to him. He couldn’t tell them the real reason he needed it, so he blamed it on the hard economy. That seemed to satisfy most of them, and they gave him the money he needed without much of a fight.
Feeling the money he accumulated in his pocket, he walked along the street, wondering about his position. He’s gonna need a lot more money than this, but it’s a start.
