The man had taken his parents, the only family he had known, and as a baby. Vengeance had fueled his desire that led to his return home. On return, however, he had heard that the persons responsible were already dead, and his rage had been quenched slightly as he directed his emotion to other ends. Now, on a pilgrimage to take him away from Suki, there was there was little-to-nothing left for him... but the sweet taste of revenge, dancing around his mind. Nevertheless, the young Saiyan knew he was nowhere near strong enough to face the power of any Icer, let alone the lord of them all.
As such, his travels upon his ship took him to one of the many Gravity Chamber facilities located all throughout the shuttle. The teen stepped inside the unoccupied room, first taking a moment to gather his surroundings. Countless tiles stretched along the floor, allowing for a vast and wide-open training area. Strong, sturdy walls supported the dome-shaped roof, which could certainly withstand the powerful blasts King Boliko could produce thus far. Parting strands of charcoal from his field of view, the man walked his way to the console located at the center of the left side wall, briefly going over the controls.
Twenty Times Gravitron Initiated
Black hues winced in shock and every muscle in his body tensed. The gravity was stronger than ever, and he would never get used to the sensation of the increased weight of his ribcage pressing against his lungs... uch. His armor clanked and clung as he steadied himself, having not been properly prepared for the sudden change in atmosphere. It took him a moment, but eventually, he adjusted to the gravity and fixed his stance once more. The weight was certainly intense; but how far would he have to go to be able to match Suki without any other training? 100x? More?
The basics are where the young royal Saiyan started all his training. From fighting an invisible opponent with basic combination techniques to warm up sessions, Boliko spent the first hour within the chamber strengthening his body and adjusting to the gravity. He had learned quickly just how difficult normal training could be under a different gravitational pull. After sit-ups and push-ups alone, the boy was covered in sweat, panting out short breaths of hot air as he pushed himself up from the ground, completing his last set of push-ups.
His armor was taken off. While he had initially intended to train under the weight of his armor as well as his heavy weighted layers, added with the gravity, it was already becoming too uncomfortable, and the armor would only further detract from his overall session. A few extra pounds of armor lessened were better than overheating far too early during his training. With the armor put aside, he was left with a full body jumpsuit red in colour, his boots remained, but without that thick material choking his body, he could feel his temperature lowering. Wiping his brow, he returned to the center of the room.
The next thirty minutes were spent for standard basics; various hand-to-hand techniques, a combination of punches, kicks, and blocks to an invisible opponent. Each technique was properly performed under the extreme pressure with minimal room for error. Boliko wished neither to rush his training nor to exert himself so early on. Gravity training was something relatively new to him, and despite Touketsuki being far beyond his level at this point, he knew if he ever wished to truly face him in combat, he would need to take his training seriously, and consistently. Pushing oneself to the point of exhaustion may raise the power level, but was certainly far more dangerous on the body and mind. His drive was strong, but he wouldn’t allow it to blind him of these obvious facts.
Letting out a slow breath, the genetically endowed Saiyan finished his last line of combinations and adjusted to a relaxed stance. Wiping the beads of sweat from his forehead with a towel he had brought along, he made his way back toward the main console, knowing that the chamber also had some additional features he wished to try out. After going through a quick, yet still very tedious tutorial, three droids appeared from a door in the wall along the south side. They remained stationary for the moment, awaiting an input of instructions. Boliko opted for a sparring session for the first one, and activated the others to jump in within fifteen minute intervals. Hopefully, by that time, he would have become well-adjusted.
The center bot came to life, its metal eyes shined with a crimson hue, signaling that it had received the transferred data. The machine came rushing toward his direction, and the young Saiyan sprinted to meet it halfway. A powerful exchange of punches, kicks and blocks ensued, with the Saiyan working more on his defense than her offense for now. The bot’s speed was indeed challenging, but he was able to keep up with it for the most part. Over the course of time, however, its speed increased, forcing the young man to take up a pure defense, as his mind kept count of the passing time. On cue, an additional opponent entered combat, coming in from behind. With a turned head, the man leaped into the air and spun his body, dodging the oncoming punch and delivering a devastating roundhouse straight to the droid’s head, forcing it to stagger back. The Saiyan dropped hastily to the ground with a thud and continued his spin, knocking the feet out of his other opponent, then quickly flipped away from the two and landed in a guarded stance.
The next few rounds of melee were far beyond intense. Their speeds had now certainly doubled their initial speed, forcing Boliko into awkward stances to block, or leaping and retreating to the sky for a moment to collect his bearings. It seemed the gravity had finally started to affect his efficiency in battle; perhaps he should have started-
*BAM*
Boliko let out a roar of pain as he was struck from behind, cursing as his sight had caught two of the droids he had currently been sparring, but had lost count of the time before the third jumped in. With the sudden loss of concentration, he careened to the ground, collecting himself only at the last moment in a crouch and bursting straight for one of the droids. The man coated his fist with condensed ki and blasted it straight through the droid’s chest. But, the droid wasn’t finished; even with the king’s fist through its chest, its arms reached out and grabbed hold of the Saiyan, forcing him to drop his guard momentarily out of the pure shock that his strike hadn’t ended the bot’s functions. Then, his senses picked up the energy signatures forming at his back. The royal turned to find two blue blasts rocketing toward him, and with the bot holding onto him, it made certain he couldn’t escape.
Instead, Boliko yanked the bot with all of his strength while spinning his body around, allowing the machine to take the brunt of the combined blast. Metal and circuitry flew in all directions, showering the gravity room. Through the smoke, Boliko’s body traveled sideways, flying just a few meters above the tile floor. Now, this was a fight. Gathering a bit of ki from his reserve, he extended the energy through his limbs, to his palms; where fiery spheres of energy began to form.
“Eat this,” Boliko screamed as he hurled his right hand out, followed by his left, forming two twin fireballs that launched from his grasp, hastily toward the remaining opponents. The two blasts were dodged, and the bots replied in kind, firing off a blast of their own, which was followed by a light curse and another quick burst of speed. The remaining two were attempting to surround him, so he continued to keep himself nearer to the wall. He adjusted his stance in air, pressing his feet against the wall to a crouch. With a forceful push, the king launched himself forward, spinning his body wildly with a quick extension of his leg. The two bots jumped back defensively, and as she landed in a crouch on the tile floor, Boliko let out an angry yell.
“They're so fast!” the Saiyan cried out. With that cry, crimson flames danced around the boy, far thicker and more condensed than ever before. His heart raced against his chest, threatening to burst through his ribcage all together. Time slowed down for a brief instance as his eyes widened, able to take in everything going on around him. Carefully calculated thoughts coursed through the mind in fractions of a second as his aura exploded outward. He leaped into the air, leaving an abundance of flames in his wake.
A fury of punches and kicks were let loose upon his first victim, the assailant becoming all but a punching bag for the fast, rapid strikes. One powerful roundhouse at the end sent the bot flying to the opposing wall, but the young Saiyan was not done just yet. With another burst of his aura, he skyrocketed toward the other robot, fist cocked back and landing a strike that decapitated the machine in a single hook. Of course, he never let up, and continued the assault, ending the rush with an over-the-head double-fisted hammer strike to the double-over bot’s back, sending it to the floor. The flames surrounding him dispersed and the Saiyan floated slowly to the ground, letting out a controlled, yet tired breath.
With his combatants now out of order, the king took the moment to take a break as other bots came in to clean up the mess and parts, using his towel to wipe his face and rehydrate the body with a bottle of ice cold water. The liquid chilled his throat and stomach, leaving a stinging sensation momentarily due to the fierce cold. When he felt rested enough, he took one more pat of his head with the towel, and then set it aside to prepare for the next round of training.
Appearing before the center console, Boliko took another swig of water, going over the various set scenarios. He had chosen this warm up to focus more on melee combat rather than energy production, but ended up using ki in the end anyhow. His eyes did spot, however, a rather interesting concept with one of the settings; droids with the ability to reflect ki blasts. This would certainly aid in his ability to dodge, as well as his overall reaction time.
With this, he cranks up the gravity, and inputs the command.
