((This thread is set shortly after the events of Just Another Day For The Homeless... I assume I'm allowed to do that right?))
Virion appeared a short distance from the isolated hermitage, regarding his shaking hands in distress, his eyes wide with shock and fear,
"No... No what have I done!?"
His hands continued to twitch and tremor, but this itself was not what had Virion in a panic. No, he was looking deeper than that, sensing within himself a change, a familiar turn for the worse. It's possible that his shaking was a result of his mental condition more so than his physical condition, for he knew this feelings all too well.
He was almost lost for words, how could he have been such a fool!? That effeminately coloured creature was not worth it, not by a long shot!
"Raugh!" he snarled, clenching his hands in frustration and flicking his tail so that it smashed heavily through the rocky ground, small debris scattering under the impact
He should never have gotten involved!
And yet his temper had gotten the better of him, an unbecoming lack of judgement causing him to push his body when he should have known better. It's apparent stability had lulled him into a false sense of security, but now it was beginning to unravel!
"No..." He rasped, his voice soon ramping up to a full scream,
"Nooooo!"
His transformation earlier had somehow re-triggered the degeneration of his cell structure, perhaps a result of the molecular change such a form induced. Regardless of the reason he had to find a way to make it stop, before it slipped any further! The damage was minor for now, but Virion knew all to well that this was just the pebble which starts the avalanche, and it was slowly, so very slowly, picking up speed. Luckily, Virion had an idea of how he might stave off this catastrophe. Theoretically it would work, though Virion had never attempted such a move before.
The man he had picked out was an ex-martial artist, skilled and powerful, but getting in in years now days. All Virion knew however was that this power was slightly larger than an average human's, and it could be used for what he needed.
He shambled over, dragging his feet moodily as if forcing himself to do this, much as one would drag themself out to complete a chore or take a particularly unpleasant dose of medicine. Reaching the small home, he stepping straight through the gardens and foliage that encircled this isolated building as if they didn't exist, like some sort of steam roller pushing forward at a slow but inexorable pace.
The sound of snapping branched apparently alerted the man, for as Virion reached the doorway the elderly master was already at his feet, haven taken up a defensive stance in preparation for an intruder. Reaching a hand out Virion pushed through the thick wooden door effortlessly, the frame buckling and breaking under the strain of his push and the small pane of glass shattering to pieces.
"By all that is holy-" the man started, his stance slackening as he beheld this monster bursting through his front door. Before he could even finish his sentence however Virion had already closed the gap, shambling forward to grasp the man by the front his his shirt and lift him bodily into the air.
Nimbly the man bent and twisted, coming up with an explosive kick which cracked against Virion's shoulder. Any normal man would have suffered a broken arm from such a blow, such was the strength behind the move even in such restricted room for execution. Unfortunately it was not nearly strong enough to have an effect on the insidious Bio-Android. The man looked shocked, his struggle abating. He could feel all to quickly the hopelessness of his situation, and through the dark intent in this creatures eyes he could feel that his time had come...
"I'm afraid I must ask too much of you now", stated Vrion in a flat tone, reaching up his spare hand, opening the maw in it's palm,
"But I assure you the necessity of this merger pains me almost as much as it does you..."
"Spare me the monologue and just kill me and be done with it, you vile creature!", gritted the old man defiantly. Unlike so many other humans there was no fear in this man now, almost like that foolish girl from back in the city. This brought a smile to Virions lips, but only for a split second. Infact it was more like a twitch than anything else.
Without another word he obliged.
The man flinched as Virion struck forward, his hand connecting to the old mans mid-section just below where Virion was lifting him.
A look of pained shock came over the elder, his mouth widening in horror, while the only change to Virion's expression was his eyes narrowing slightly as the process began.
Rapidly the old man began to decrepify, his skin growing slightly loose and wrinkled. He appeared to shrink and dessicate, his expression a silent scream as his facial features were lost to the process, eyes sinking in their sockets as folds of skin soon obscured them completely.
It was stomach-churning, as if the man was melting like a waxen candle, but from the inside. A horrible sound could be heard too, almost like a gurgling pulse as the tube heading from Virions hand up his arm twitched and oscillated.
Soon it appeared as though the man's limbs were retracting into his shirt, his form limp and boneless, his whole body being sucked dry through Virions hand-maw. This sagging flesh was not even recognisable as once being a man, save for the clothing which slowly slide loose. His shoes fell to the ground, as well as his arm bands and pants. The only reason his shirt remained in place was because Virion had it gripped in his hand, and soon the malformed husk of flesh scrunched up completely, disappearing within the folds of it's coat.
The horrific process of bio-extraction was complete.
Virion let the empty shirt and coat drop to the floor. He was highly displeased by this course of action, not lying when he said that the merger pains him almost as much as it did the man. For now he felt defiled, the man's bio-essence mixing with his own was a most unsavoury thought for Virion, like a human's revulsion at eating a live cockroach.
Still, he had work to do, and concentrating on this new acquisition he began adjusting his own bio-chemistry. It was an arduous task, such fine control of his own body not coming easily.
The more he probed the more he came to appreciate the genius of his creators design. Even in this degenerated form, a form he was never meant to function under, he held the markers of greatness; powers, capabilities, and exquisite adaptations.
A good hour passed, and then another, Virion just standing completely still, on a journey within himself, seeking to repair the damage he had done to his own body.
It was nearly dark by the time he finally arose from his frozen state, like a statue brought to life. One could consider what he'd done almost like a form of meditation, a journey of self-discovery and self-improvement, though in a far more literal sense then most advocates of meditation would understand.
He had succeeded, using the old man's bio-essence as a base, to reverse the damage process and deactivate the internal processes responsible for his decaying state, his cells no longer deteriorating like a slowly unravelling seam.
His discoveries however had much wider applications than just that...
