Fighting the thieves had put Meredith on edge, and kind of wore her out. When she got to the dojo, and Komatsuna wasn't there yet, that only served to make things worse. She began her warm-up, this time only 50 push-ups and sit-ups, and some stretches. She faced the practice dummy, and began training on it while she waited for Komatsuna. She threw punches at the head, kicks to the chest. Elbow slams diagonlly, knee kicks to its sides. She kept this up for a good thirty minutes before she decided to stop and wait for Komatsuna, reserving most of her energy.
Komatsuna showed up, carrying a piece of paper. "Good evening Meredith. I hope you have had a good day?" Meredith didn't want to tell him about the thieves, the thought made her embarrassed. "Yes. And you?" "Its been fine, thanks." Meredith was curious about he paper, and asked Komatsuna about it. "This? Oh, its just something I wrote up real quick, I'll show you after practice." Komatsuna began his warm-up, and Meredith decided to do another one with him. 50 more push-ups, and 50 more sit-ups, then they used each other to help get the best out of their stretches. "Meredith, I was wondering, before we sparred could you show me some of your moves? I'm interested in your techniques." Meredith nodded.
"These have been passed down in my family for generations. I'll start with one of the easier ones. If you'll follow me." Meredith took up the starting stance, for this one an offensive, with hands raised in fists in front of her face. Komatsuna followed her example. "First, you put your right foot out, doing a lower block with your right hand. Then, you come around with your left side, and do a lower-middle kick with your left foot, aimed at the solar plexus." Komatsuna did as he was told, following Meredith's example. She'd never teached before, and was just giving the same instructions she had been given when she was learning. "From here, you step forward from the right, and give a right punch towards the nose. Now, bring your left foot around the back, using the torque from the spin to push you back a little, and slam your elbows back at an angle." Komatsuna did this. "Good," Meredith said. "Now, lets start from the beginning, and just go straight through to here, then we'll continue." This was exactly how Meredith had been trained to do it, always doing the first half, then the second. They moved in unison, Komatsuna watching Meredith, who's eyes were closed, doing everything from muscle memory. She almost forgot to stop, and opened her eyes. "Now, the opponent is theoretically supposed to be to your left now, so we back-fist with your left hand, bring your right foot around 180 degrees so you're facing the front again, and do two punches, both aimed at the stomach. Another kick, with the left foot, also at the stomach, and then immediately bring your right foot around for a kick to the face. Place your right foot down, step forward from your left, and push with both hands, palm forward. And, then you're done." They finished, and Komatsuna spoke up. "Can we do it again, this time all at once?" "Sure." They started again at the back of the room, and went through all the steps once more, in sync with each other. "You're a really fast learner," Meredith commented. Komatsuna smiled. "Thanks, I've always been told so. Now, shall we get to sparring?" Meredith nodded, and they both stepped into the room, and bowed. This time, still feeling the flow fromt he form they had just done, Meredith chose an offensive stance, and took the first move, a kick to Komatsuna's waist. Komatsuna did a low block, then spun, and kicked at an angle just slightly higher than Meredith's stomach. She pushed his leg sideways, but Komatsuna took the spin he was given from that and spun again, this time punching at Meredith. She caught the hand, pushed it up, and punched his stomach twice, causing Komatsuna to stumble back. Taking advantage of this, Meredith stepped forward, throwing more punches. Komatsuna blocked, dodged, and weaved to avoid most of them. But Meredith was unprepared for a kick to her midriff, and was pushed back some. This time Komatsuna advanced, and Meredith was forced into a defensive stance. She held her ground, blocking punches and kicks, but Komatsuna was getting closer. She'd have to move eventually. When she judged he was close enough, Meredith did, surprising Komatsuna with a two handed push, one hand pushing his chest, the other his stomach. He fell backwards, and Meredith helped him back up.
Sparring was over, so they did a warm-down, 50 more push-ups, and 75 sit-ups. Meredith asked about the paper. "Oh, this," Komatsuna laughed, and pulled out the paper. "I just thought, since you're new here to Vegeta, you might want to look at some Saiyan names. I wrote up a few, to see if you might like any of them." He showed Meredith the list, and she looked at them. "I like this one," She said, pointing. Komatsuna looked, and read aloud "Serori Satsumaimo. A very pretty name." He looked at her, and smiled. "Much befitting of one such as yourself." Meredith ignored this attempt at flattery. "I think I will start going by that name now." 'Serori Satsumaimo...' she thoguht to herself. 'A saiyan name. I like it.' "Well, I will see you later then Meredith...or should I say, Serori. I won't be able to spar tomorrow, but how about the next day, same time?" Serori nodded, and Komatsuna left, waving. She waved back, and went to the noodle shop. It was time for work.
