As he walked through the the blissful plains before the mighty kaiju Xelaritas paused to reflect on the events of that fateful day. He'd just began sleeping off a rather generous pick nick he'd eaten. as he lay there in the shade of one of the kaijus' mammoth roots. He'd been half asleep when he'd first heard that terrible noise. A sound that to this very day he believes to have been the kaiju screaming.
He'd naturally snapped awake and sprung to his feet. His heart and pounded fiercely from the shock of the startling noise had Inspired in him. Then he felt the dark and terrible power within the branches above him. He was little more than a child back then. Helpless and defenseless or so he'd thought.
Faster than he could react a strange being fell into view, flying through the broad leafage of the mighty tree. Its red face contorted with Unfathomable blood and accented by broad black horns.
Held is place by the sheer terror he felt from beholding this brutal creature he could do little but raise his arms instinctively and brace for the meteoritic impact.
He hadn't realized it at the time but he'd been screaming back at the creature in a mix of bewilderment and fear. Fortunately for him the intrinsic power of his bellow and the high emotions fueling it it was forceful enough to blow the creature clean back and saved him from its initial savage blow by launching it like a bullet from a gun into the broad trunk of the kaiju with a dull thunk!
It was most fortunate for him that he managed to get the better part of his wits together as the creature shook off the shock of being blown away. This time he was slightly more ready for the savage beings lunge.
Or so he had thought. he was rather shocked when a great black blade appeared in the creatures hand mid swipe. It was a miracle in its self he'd managed to duck out of the blows way. having regained his composure as the blade finished passing over his head he took a decidedly more aggressive action.
He Brought his balled fist up and into the chin of the monster with as much strength as he could muster. Its head lolled back as it was lifted off its feet and launched high into the air. As much to his astonishment as the mindless creatures.
he beheld his clenched, slightly bloodied fist with mind numbing awe. surely he was not that powerful! Yet there he was, making sport of a monster with haphazard blows!
His bewilderment was quickly remedied by a swift dose of reality. the air around him turning sickly yellow he looked up to be greeted with a monstrous energy wave as it rushed the last few feet towards him.
His reflexes failed him. His eyes screwed tightly closed. He was sure this was it. The end of his life. Due to his unique nature this was not really so much a problem for him as it was for other species but it was still very embarrassing!
He felt the ray impact him. Its pale light burning at his flesh and bending his bones with its force. His entire body throbbed with pain as his pristine clothes were torn to shreds with the demons furious attack.
After what felt like an eternity to him his knee's finally buckled and he toppled over onto his back. He was rather surprised to see that there was no halo over his head when he awoke. though his entire body was wracked with burning pain and bruises from the blow. He was for all intents and purposes still in one piece.
He sprang once more to his feet. The demon resumed its relentless assault, diving straight for him with its clenched fists stretched out before it. Its aura had changed significantly Now the creature pulsed with unprecidented power that far dwarfed his own. Bracing himself Xelaritas prepared for what he thought would be a long and brutal beating from his foe. Musing quietly to himself about how he'd wished he payed more attention to his instructors and learned some more powerful techniques and for the second time in such a short time he mulled over his imminent death but it was not to be so.
Mere Moments before the beast reached striking distance it was again blown away, this time much further and by someone far more adept in the combat arts than him. he turned to see several large and burly kaioshin surround him and the demon. He remembered the face of there leader.Face half cocked with a grim as he said "Not bad. We'll take it from here."
Things had changed forever on that day. There was no denying that. He felt the experience had, as terrifying as it had been, ultimately made him a better person. he'd readhered to his studies with a fever and learned all he could of his mysterious attacker. Of his people and there terrifying brother race the makaioshin. he even took up learning about the celestial bureaucracy.
He'd dedicated his life to containing that terrifying concept he'd encountered that day. He would protect the universe from it and all who aspired to it. He would as supreme kaioh cast down this thing. This "Evil." where ever it was found by teaching the races of the universe to aspire for goodness.
Though he had a long way to go. it pleased him to think he'd started the journey over two centuries ago. One step down the path he hoped to follow till his end.
It had all begun on that fateful day. It had been nearly 200 years since that day but still he felt it was only just beginning. With a slight smile he turned away from the view of the mighty kaju tree and headed back towards his home, determined to carry on ever forwards towards his looming goal and the enticing smell of his dinner off in the distance.
There should always be time to pause to look back and reflect upon the past he felt. Less it be forgotten.
(Pl please. Tried a bit harder than usual with this but I'm still getting the feeling I'm doing something wrong.)
