OOC: Brown text is Ikezu's native tongue.
IC: The wind blew through his hair, bringing with it the scent of change, and glory. The young man stood there, white fur bristled up against the breeze. His lion like face looking away from the light cast by dawn for his challenger. His toes warm against the sand under his feet. He laced his fingers and cracked his knuckles, raising his hands into the sky stretching his shoulders, leaning down to his toes to stretching his calves. He’d continue like this stretching out and getting loose for his challenger, thinking about things he could say while he’s beating him.
The sun was rising behind him, casting brilliant orange flames across the clouds, painting the sky like a canvas. Ikezu was beginning to lose a little bit of his patience as he rose into the sky for a better vantage point. As of yet, there was nothing to see but desert and plateaus.
A memory flooded his mind, from long ago.
~~~~~~~Flashback~~~~~~
“Dad, why do you hunt?” A young Ikezu helps his father skin a wild Dear (Deer/Bear).
“I hunt for food, to provide for you, your mother, and our village.” Removing the Dear’s intestines, and emptying their contents.
“Do you like hunting?” Ikezu asked inquisitively, wrapping the empty intestine around a long pole.
“I hunt because I have to. You shouldn’t relish in the death of the living son. You should respect all life, and only kill when necessary.” His father placed his knife to the side, looking at his son.
“So it’s necessary for these animals to die?” Ikezu asked, nonchalantly.
“For us to live. Yes.” His father stated, sitting next to his son.
“I think I understand.” Ikezu said grabbing his father’s hand and placing it on his head.
“In time, you will be required to do the same. You will have to hunt, and then you will know why I do this.” He said placing his forehead against his son’s free palm.
~~~~~~~Flashback~~~~~~~
“You did it because you loved us. I kept my promise dad. I took care of mom. She’s ok. We’re all ok.” He’d say under his breath, as if letting someone deep inside him know.
The wind blew harder, whistling like an Inaurian hunting call. Ikezu refocused his attention and scanned his environment, watching for any signs of life. Whatever challenger the wind blew his way, Ikezu would be ready for them.
