“Ka…me…ha…me… HA!!” a mesmerizing blue beam of energy rides over the vast ocean, lifting the water in its path and splitting it in two. I failed…
Nam had been trying to develop a new feat for his Kamehameha Wave, but he hadn’t been successful in his attempts. A drop of sweat crawls down the half-saiyans face. Making so many energy beams was tiring, but he wouldn’t stop yet. The sand under his feet blew away, deepening the soft crater he had produced during every set. The ocean was still recovering from his recent attempt, when the next beam was launched across once again.
A strand of hair danced over his face, his clothes flapped around the wind and his feet sunk deeper into the soft sand. He squint his eyes to avoid the airborne sand from getting in them and causing a disturbance. Nam was alone in the seaside coast, practicing, perfecting. The half-saiyan needed to improve his abilities, not just strength. After a few more attempts, Nam was beginning to feel fatigue and decided to give it a rest for a while. He receded from his crouched position and retrieved his hands, which were cupped behind his body; the traditional position for producing and Kamehameha Wave.
He stood straight, taking a deep breath as the cratered sand was filled by incoming water which soaked his boots. The water was immediately absorbed by the sand. Nam gazed into the horizon, catching his breath before walking out of the moist hole and laying down in a nearby patch of grass under palm trees. He was wearing his new tunic, which represented his new alliance with Earth’s Special Forces. The symbol was emblazoned on his left chest and his back. His scabbard was resting on the ground beside him.
Nam stared at it for a moment, after deciding to dedicate some time to his sword training. He had barely any reason to use his sword, but he should be ready for when the time comes. The half-saiyan unsheathed his weapon, the blade flashed in the sun light and he stared at his reflection. Nam held his two-edged sword with both hands, his right over the left in the handle –just under the guard with space between hands. Nam held it over his head and swung down, slicing the wind. That was only the opening; Nam followed that swing with various thrusts while picturing an enemy in his head.
The half-saiyan had been using the sword like any other person and changed that by embedding his chi into it, as if it were an extension of him-self. He then concentrated the energy enveloped on his blade and swung it at the air three times, aiming at a nearby palm tree. With those three strokes came three strands of energy which spiraled in the air until it made impact with the tree and wrapped itself around it. That was his binding technique.
Nam calmed down and focused on his position. He realized the sword was occupying both of his hands, therefore, restricting him from using any energy attacks. That was no good. Nam turned to the ocean once again and focused his energy on the blade once again, but with a different approach that differed from his binding technique. The blade glowed with energy and Nam raised it over his head. As he thrust his blade downward, a basic ki attack was launched in the form of a crescent. He smiled and began to form combos in the air, occasionally surprising his invisible foe with sudden blasts of crescent energy.
Suddenly, screams were heard in a nearby town. Nam froze in his training as he heard people asking for help. The half-saiyan grabbed his scabbard and flew out towards the village while sheathing his sword. Upon arrival, Nam could instantly see the problem was centered on a band of weird looking aliens. It maddened Nam how these creatures would enter Earth and cause chaos. They thought they could do whatever they wished.
“Stop right there!” he demanded, standing firm with clenched fists at his sides. The aliens paused in their tracks and gathered to face the saiyan. “What do you want?” one of them said.
“Stop tormenting this village…” Nam requested. He was very willing to let them go unharmed if they abided to his demands, but as usual, they didn’t listen.
“We’ll leave… if you can make us!” from the clique of extraterrestrials came out a purple skinned alien with black dots that spanned its body. He smirked and got into a stance.
“Fine… if that’s how you want it… I will defeat you in the name of Earth’s Special Forces!” Nam said. He felt a bit weird saying it, it sounded like something a comic hero would say, and it only confirmed it as the posse chuckled amongst themselves. But Nam needed to pass the word, let people know that such an organization existed in the defense of Earth and that their actions wouldn’t go un-apprehended.
Nam didn’t even get into his fighting stance; he just stood there, watching his opponent. He tossed his scabbard to the ground next to him, which he had been holding. As the scabbard reached the ground, Nam’s purple adversary charged in after him with a punch aimed at his face. Nam was unimpressed and simply moved his head to the side, evading the attack. He then countered by sending a powerful thrust to the alien’s midsection. The creature’s eyes widened, as if almost popping out of their sockets, and saliva shot out of his mouth as he rested on the half-saiyans fist with a grunt.
One hit, was all it took to bring the creature to total defeat. Even with the heavy weights, Nam moved much faster than his opponent. The rest began to snarl at the half-saiyan as their comrade fell before his feet, and immediately another charged in. The rage blinded this one, and it seemed to be just as weak as the first –if not weaker. Nam let out a short scream, “HA!” as his next aggressor approached, he was pushed away by an invisible force cause by the half-saiyan’s sudden surge of energy, a kiai attack. It was a very basic move, good for keep distance or repelling certain energy attacks. But it was more than enough to finish a battle quickly against weaklings. The force pushed the feinted foe under his feet onto his inbound opponent and sent them both towards the group.
Another one in the group stepped out, but this one was armed, and human. He had taken a gun from one of their victims and was now pointing it at the half-saiyan with a wide and confident smirk on his face. They probably decided that if hand to hand combat was not enough, a gun would do the trick. All the citizens screamed and gasped and yelled, “HE HAS A GUN!”
The man laughed, “hahaha… What’re you gonna do now?” he cocked the gun with his thumb and gripped the trigger, threatening to shoot. Nam remained in a poise and calm state. He was standing sideways, looking at them from the corner of his eyes with a dull expression. The strand of hair danced slowly and discreetly in the mild wind. People were running in the background, screaming, hiding, and escaping. But Nam just stood there… staring.
He was thinking… How pathetic… one of their own kin, a human… Nam was disappointed by the man’s lack of honor. The man cowered and hid himself amongst the strong extraterrestrials to save his own and tormented his own planet. It truly takes all kinds of people, but Nam hated these types. The man seemed to have lost his patience towards Nam’s indifference and his grin soon disappeared. In its place, a snarl, “Die bitch.”
The aliens laughed at the man’s vulgar expressions as he pulled the trigger and the bullet ignited outwards at incredible speed. Poor human… unaware that the clique of extraterrestrials were laughing at his poor ways. They were using him, having some ‘fun’, mocking him. The man thought he was one of them, but in truth he was nothing but a traitor and the aliens were enjoying his primitive mentality. They stopped laughing when Nam’s right hand moved and matched the bullets speed, catching it. It burned a little, but Nam’s training seemed to have permitted him the ability to stop a bullet. Nobody had ever seen such a thing; or perhaps, it wasn’t his training, but his saiyan blood.
Nam extended his hands opened his palm to show them the piece of metal and then dropped it to the ground. To any other human, it would’ve meant death, for the bullet would hit as soon as they heard the sound. It was as if bullets moved at the speed of sound. But Nam wasn’t knowledgeable about those kinds of things. It was just a theory. Either way, Nam wasn’t a normal person, he was able to see the bullets trajectory, and it even seemed as if it were moving slower than he expected. Maybe it had to do with all his weight and gravity training.
The man frowned at this and began wasting away all his ammunition as he took out a second pistol and began dual shooting with both with his flustered face. Nam turned to face him, still with his dull expression, staring at him with his indifferent eyes. Every piece of metal that came his way, he caught it with his right hand alone. He couldn’t let any get away, even if they weren’t going to hit him, because they might hit another person whom was standing behind him.
The ammo finally ended as the man desperately continued pulling the trigger while only the clicks of the gun were heard, the sound of its empty cartridge. “DAMNIT, DIE!!!” he roared, still vainly pulling the trigger as if they were going to magically shoot an extra bullet. He was in panic. He couldn’t comprehend how such a phenomenon existed. Nam let all the bullets he had caught fall to the ground below him, keeping company to the first and single bullet which was lying alone on the dusty ground.
The man dropped the pistols to the ground and began to shake. He then grinned as he realized he was still hanging with his posse. But they didn’t hesitate to kill the man. He was no longer producing joy and thrill for them, and so they disposed of him like a worn out toy. Nam frowned at their actions, but remained in his same spot. One of the aliens walked out. The human was lying lifelessly on the ground beside it.
“I will be your opponent now.” He said. His voice sounded masculine so Nam assumed it was male. The alien was slick and defined. He was about Nam’s size and was wearing battling armor similar to a saiyan’s. Nam remained still, his opponent’s power level was another of weak stature and he didn’t feel the need defend himself, Nam didn’t realize it, but he was actually showing arrogance. Perhaps, it was the effect of facing an adversary he had no respect towards. He wouldn’t show such behavior to someone who knew; definitely not Zach or Antary. Yes, there was an ego within Nam that he had yet to discover. Maybe it was a result from his sudden boost of power, but although he only demonstrated it to his enemies, it was still there.
This arrogance didn’t take too long before immediately stabbing him in the back. The red alien smirked as he suddenly faded from his position, which left Nam surprised. Moments later, the extraterrestrials fist was pressed against Nam’s untightened abdomen and winded the half-saiyan. The alien wasn’t so powerful, but it was still enough to cause serious damage to his solar plexus, the center of all his nerves. Nam’s poised and indifferent stare quickly changed into one of pain and confusion. The alien was low and looking up with the same grin. His smirk then widened as he continued to display his superior speed and rotated around the half-saiyan, punching and kicking all around his body.
The first strike to the solar plexus had momentarily weakened Nam and he was unable to keep himself from tumbling where ever his opponent’s hit made him. Still recovering, the half-saiyan’s upper body shifted up, down, back and forth, as his adversary orbited around his body at super speed, which Nam was unable to see. He’s uppercut the half-saiyan’s chin, disappear and roundhouse kick him in the face, disappear once more and punch him in the midsection once more to keep him paralyzed, strike him in the back to straighten his body and send a left hook to his face. The alien did all sorts of maneuvers, only striking his upper-body while Nam’s legs remained planted on the same spot. They weren’t as painful as it would have been if it were Zach, but none the less, it was painful enough and extremely fast.
How would you defeat someone who is way too fast for you? Their punches are probably weaker, but the numbers stack up and little by little begin to deplete your health while the other is perfectly intact. Nam knew that he only need one or two hits to take out his opponent, but every attempt he made was dodged and counterattacked without time to spare. He almost hit his opponent once, which shook the alien up a bit. It was only luck though. This caused the alien to become more wary and made his maneuvers more complex. He would distance himself at times and strike down from different angles, disappear and charge from another angle and so on.
The rest of the aliens laughed as the half-saiyan was being ridiculed. To them, Nam was a buff and slow opponent who moved way too slow to actually cause any damage. Only if Nam could speed up, he would end it in a flinch.
The aliens ceased from laughing any further as Nam was suddenly engulfed by a scarlet aura, which also made his opponent stop and look. This implied they were capable of sensing energy for they noticed the dramatic power boost, but as Nam charged in with threefold his speed, his opponent was still a bit faster and faded, striking Nam in the back. His aura immediately dispersed. The half-saiyan’s eyes widened and he dropped to his knees in pain. His back side strung like never before, he had never been hit while using his Kaioken. It seemed that the move didn’t only increase his power threefold, but it also made him more sensible to attacks, without mentioning he gets closer to fatigue with every use.
Yes, the Kaioken had increased his speed quite enough, maybe enough to match his opponent’s speed. But the alien was still a ways faster and he wasn’t getting tired any time soon. The red alien smirked, feeling proud of his superior speed. The shock quickly ceased and the band of extraterrestrials began to chuckle amongst each other once more. Nam was beginning to feel furious. He needed to find a way to increase his speed without using the Kaioken, it would just tire him too much.
The aggressor soon engaged in his barrages once again. Damnit! I need to do something! the half-saiyan scolded himself as the alien continued with his upper-cuts, roundhouse kicks, punches, and all sorts of attacks from every angle imaginable. But to a third party, whom was watching, they’d only see a faded red object blurring around the half-saiyan, whom was showing signs of pain.
After a few moments of this, the red alien finally stopped and stood in front on Nam, about five feet away. “It’s over,” said the extraterrestrial as he charged in for the final blow. Nam braced himself and his body faded just before the alien reached him, missing. The alien wasn’t the only one perplexed by what had happened. Nam wasn’t sure himself what he did. It appeared as if he had performed the Zanzoken, but he needed to move very fast for such a technique to work on someone of this caliber.
The alien shrugged it off and wrote it off as a lucky dodge. As Nam’s adversary moved in once again, the half-saiyan shifted into a forward stance with both hands cocked back into a fist. He relied on the feeling he had when performing whatever it was he did and let his body’s memory do the work. He faded once again, appearing beside the alien as its right punch was airborne next to Nam. The half-saiyan grabbed its thrust with his left hand, his left leg in-front of his body and his right behind it, in a way that he was facing the arm of his opponent, which was gripped by the wrist. He then proceeded by adding his right hand to the grapple and twisted it upward and to the left and his body shifted to the latter, his right leg sliding to the right.
The alien gestured for a counter, but Nam added pressure to its twisted wrist and the extraterrestrial yelled out in pain. He was trapped under Nam’s mercy and he would no longer be able to move away. His crew was standing silently, unable to comprehend what had happened. But Nam paid attention the second time he did it. Apparently, he instinctively used his energy as a boost while he pushed himself away from his former location. It was a small amount of energy that was pulsed outward from the stem of his feet.
The half-saiyan smirked, “Now I’ve got you…” He slid his left hand over his opponents should while moving his arm to the right, still gripping the alien’s wrist with his right hand and pushed down as he moved his left leg behind his opponent’s right leg and bent both into a crouched position while pushing down on his shoulder and pulling up on his twisted wrist. The result was a captured opponent, unable to do anything with the fear of losing his arm to the half-saiyan. The alien’s upper body was forced downward, facing the ground.
Nam, maintaining the grapple, slid his right leg 180 degrees to the left in a circular motion, forcing his opponent to make the same turn to keep his arm from harm and ended up lying down on the ground. The half-saiyan stilled gripping his arm in the same way. But Nam did this without thinking up a plan and realized his adversary was now in the proper position for execution or losing one of his limbs. Nam didn’t have the heart to do such a thing, but he couldn’t just let go. The red alien would just get back up and attack. Nam improvised and released his aggressors shoulder, still holding onto the wrist and thrust at the back of his neck with his free left hand: open-palm, closed fingers.
His opponent was out cold and the group was shaking. Apparently that was their best bet. Nam let go of the unconscious alien’s wrist and moved away. “Take him and go before I change my mind…”
Soon after the extraterrestrials had evacuated and Nam made sure their power signatures were out of the earth’s gravity field. The town which was being tormented cheered; although some were disappointed Nam decided to let them free. Nam explained that this way, they’d pass the word to their friends and cause fear –preventing future gangs of aliens. But perhaps, this would only attract more attention…
The town insisted on giving the half-saiyan a reward, even though he initially refused. But they just wouldn’t take no for an answer. And so, the half-saiyan left a bag of zeni to continue his training near the coast. He let his scabbard on the same spot it had been when he was training; in the patch of grass under the palm tree. His body was a bit numb, but he wanted to get this right before allowing himself to rest –before his body would forget how to perform the maneuver.
He closed his eyes and recalled back in the recent fight. He concentrated on the actions of his feet. He saw a spray of red energy that suddenly expulsed from under his feet and aided his movement. He focused on providing it again, concentrating his energy around his feet and coordinating it with his movements.
(PL + Weights + New Move)
*New move:
High-Speed Movement – Nam can use his chi as a boost for his movement as he is practically launched forward, upward, side-wards, downwards –anywhere. He can do this midair, in or on water, on the ground, etc. If he times it correctly he can trick people into thinking he can run on water. The maneuver is rather small in all and will probably remain unnoticed unless the opponent is very observant. With this move, Nam can match his opponent’s speed if he has at least 80% of his/her power level. 90% would imply a slight advantage in speed and over that would be blurring.
To those observant fighters, a small amount of red energy (in Nam’s case) is expulsed outward from the sole of the user’s feet. It’s small, quick, simple, and highly effective. This technique might be confused with flight control at times, but it is very different.
Is this understandable? xP

Is this understandable? xP
