Caius, upon awakening, realized he'd been asleep. The battle had taken a lot more out of him than he'd thought it would, to resort to a biological function he had no need of. He jumped up to a sitting position, hands going to his chest, where Ikezu had blown a gaping hole through his very core, literally. The wound was almost gone, although a nasty burn mark was left in his garment. He looked around, and found himself back on Suki's ship. Either Suki or Aice must have carried him back. Ikezu was presumable defeated or dead. Caius was on the winning side of something for the first time in his life, and wasn't quite ecstatic about it. He was like a child, as such, realizing his actions, and the actions of others, were not always perceived with the same eye. What Suki saw as his right as the most powerful to extort and enslave, others saw as his tyrannical ambition to subjugate and destroy. Caius didn't know how he felt about his role in the killing of the Saiyan generals, or what ire it would bring upon him personally, just from association with the World Trade Organization.
He found himself absentmindedly fiddling with the little knots in space where he was able to reach into other realities. His fingertips happened upon a clothlike substance, and peering closely with his head he could see, as if through a keyhole, what he was grasping. It appeared to be humanoid clothing, and pulling it through, he realized it was a store display of a matching shirt and pants. He removed his burned garb and put these on, and thought he made a dashing gentleman. He decided to go and see what Saiyan cities were like, so using his innate Bukujutsu, he flew towards the metropolis he saw in the distance. Landing some ways outside, he managed to sneak into a crowd. His lack of a tail made him stand out, but there were other aliens. Most of the chatter appeared to be about the enormous explosions of ki released by the fight between the General Rensou Hiruen and Touketsuki Yakedo, the invader. News of the general's defeat had not yet reached the Saiyan capital, it appeared.
Caius was just walking through the streets when he saw it. A man who looked like he was up to no good. Some aspect of how he carried himself, some inexperience in hiding his true intentions, some subtlety gave him away. He walked past Caius, not making any kind of eye contact, and after he passed, Caius turned and followed the man. He had his hands inside his jacket, and appeared to be looking for someone, or awaiting some kind of cue of some sort. As the man walked, with some intensity to the rapid turns of his head, as he searched the streets, Caius was almost shocked out of his silence when the man quickly turned down an alleyway, his hands coming out of his jacket. Caius saw another man at the end of the alleyway, similarly surprised. The man Caius had been following drew a small metal device, held it by a hilt in one hand, leveled it at the other hand, and pulled a lever with his index finger.
A small pop issued, and Caius's sixth sense kicked in, and to him, time appeared to slow down. He realized it was a projectile weapon of some sort, and he didn't really want to be able to say he'd seen a man murder another man for no reason and not have done anything. With speed that almost threatened to break his wrist, and elicited a streaking pain up his right arm where Ikezu had cracked it before, he stretched out his hand, and telekinetically tried to stop the bullet. The force applied was too little too late, and Caius was only able to slow down the bullet marginally and redirect it from the man's mid chest to his upper right, near his shoulder. The assailant turned around and found himself face to face with Caius. As he registered the sight of the nearly platinum-blonde Makaioshin in front of him, the demon blade that Caius's blood granted him the ability to summon was already emerging from the man's back, and the gunman sputtered the last thought that went through his brain, its meaning rendered incoherent by the blood flooding his respiratory passages. Caius sheared up through the man's body to remove the blade, its sharp edge tearing through the man's shoulder as the slowly-dying man collapsed to the ground, his body already suffering a severe drop in blood pressure from the many severed blood vessels and damaged organs. Caius quickly turned to the man who'd been shot, and ran to try and help him.
Sir! Who did this to you, why were you killed?
Th-*hack* they wanted me dead...
WHO! You have to tell me who it was!
The Red Shirts...*cough*
The man held out a small object in a tightly clenched fist, and with his other hand he compressed the wound in his chest.
Take this and *COUGH* run, before the police get here. I'll be fine. Show this to Satoimo, if you want to help...
Caius wrenched the man's fist open, and saw a small metal pin with an intricate design etched into it. Standing up, he gave a grim nod to the bleeding man, and ran out of the alleyway, only to run into a pair police officers. Caius took a quick step back, powered up to his full power level, and drew his blade.
Hey! Where do you think you're goi...ho...oh my god...what the-
In the man's scouter, Caius could see the already large number listed rapidly increase, and he wrenched the nightstick from the Saiyan's grasp. Spinning, he let the nightstick return to the unlucky officer in the form of a blow to the temple. The first man went down, and as the 2nd man stumbled backwards in fear, Caius had already closed the gap. He punched him in his open jaw, possibly shattering teeth, and hit him over the head with the hilt of his sword.
To escape the eyes of gawkers, and officers nearby, whose attentions had barely been drawn by the strange alien being, he ducked into the doorway of a bar, only to have his way swiftly blocked by two men.
Hey, where do you think you're going? This is an exclusive club. Put the sword away, and we'll talk.
Caius considered putting the two bouncers away the same way he'd dispatched the police officers, when he noticed a symbol on two earrings worn by the men. They were identical to the design etched into the small pin given him by the unknown victim earlier. Caius drew out the pin, and the bouncers' eyes opened wide, and they scurried out of his way. Apparently this pin granted some kind of influence. Walking past the main room, where sexily dressed women and nicely dressed men appeared to be dancing, dancing as their planet was being invaded, past the DJ spinning music, he found a door with the same design, again engraved into it. He tried the door, but it was locked. He was about to move on when a small panel opened in it, and one eye looked out. It rested upon the pin that Caius had hastily stuck into his shirt, and the door opened.
It opened into a magnificent cathedral like room, with a vaulting ceiling supported by magnificent stone buttresses. At the end of this room sat a man in a throne.
...And who might you be, stranger? How did you come by the pin you so brazenly wear, and use to break into my club?
I received it from a dying man. He told me to present it to a Satoimo, "if I wanted to help."
And do you want to help?
What's in it for me?
You think you could kill a man for me?
Caius could barely restrain his laughter. Besides the Inaurian, and the highest of the Saiyan army, most of the Saiyans whose power levels he'd sensed so far were weaklings. With a little exaggeration, he boasted,
"I could knock this whole block out right now if you wanted me to."
Haha, good man. I have a proposal. I will reward you handsomely if you can kill a man for me. I am Satoimo Shoga, and I'm the gang boss that runs this part of town. You came to the right man if you're looking for money. Let's go up this ladder to the highest room in my citadel, shall we?
Caius noticed a ladder leading to a small room with a window, and followed the man to the top of a tower. Caius was sure he hadn't seen any evidence of features like this from the outside, but the buildings were packed.
If you'll look that way, you'll see a little red building. If you can get inside there, and kill everyone inside, and come back to me, I'll pay you for it. We good?
This is just up my alley, you have no idea.
Caius jumped off a balcony, and flew across to the roof of the opposite building. Running across the rooftops, his vision zoomed in on the building the mob boss had singled out. Caius used his Bukujutsu to increase his speed, and slowly began flying with great speed towards the doorway of this building. He charged up ki in his body, and collided with the doorway, throwing it open, and releasing a great explosion. He tucked his body into a small ball, and rolled across the floor.
He used his momentum, and unfurled his limbs. He drew his sword, which chose to appear in its preferred shape, a katana. He drove the sword into the chest of the first person he saw, a man obviously a gangster, a pistol at his side, and a symbol tattooed on his neck. Turning, and wrenching the sword out through the man's side, Caius drew Ki into many large spikes as he whirled around. Not a sound could be heard, nobody had yet really processed what was happening. The signature technique of the Makaioshin floated in the air, the proverbial pin waiting to drop. With a hair-raising, hearty laugh, the demon unleashed the Death Wave into the party-goers in the club, and the world around him was wracked with explosions. Body parts were flying about him, and the building began to collapse. Turning and readying the attack once more, to level the building. He saw a man coming at him, fists up. Caius tossed his katana into the air, and as it spun, he waited for the point to be oriented directly at the man before driving it into his chest with telekinesis. As the man arched his back with the sheer pain of having a steel blade sever your spinal cord, Caius pulled his sword up, taking the man's body with him. He channeled his Ki into the sword, and released the Death Wave again from the point of the sword, a volley of turquoise ki projectiles colliding with the opposite wall of the establishment, and the entire club came down on top of Caius. Using ki blasts, he blew apart the debris that threatened to land on him, and he listened to the screams of the dying around him, as the rubble settled. Caius turned around again, and faced Satoimo's tower.
With a wry smile and a confident salute, he lifted off and flew back to the tower. Landing on the lip of the balcony, he looked into the astonished face of the gangster.
I don't really know what I expected, but I knew you were powerful from the moment you walked in. Whatever I thought you were going to do, it definitely did not involve you leveling Okura's place entirely, haha. Good work kid, you're now a member of the Shoga Clan.
And now for the small matter of my payment?
Here's some Zeni, if I can count on you in the future.
Taking the man's Zeni, and with an abrupt shake of the hand, Caius looked the slimy gangster in the eye. He was going to have one more spot of fun today.
For the remainder of your short life, Shogo.
Caius summoned his blade to his left hand, and with his right hand, drew the blade as fast as possible, the honed edge cutting the man's head off his body, splattering blood against the ceiling. The WTO had landed on Planet Vegeta, and Caius intended to do his little part in damaging every part of it he could, in the name of his master, Touketsuki Yakedo.
