Flying with his father, Kotan grinned. His power level had increased to five thousand, meaning he was a lot stronger than he had been only a few weeks ago. In the last month, he had gone from being at a power level of six hundred, to multiplying his power by over eight. He was a bit more cocky now, and he had asked his dad to teach him a power up technique. So, this was why him and his father were going to train in the very same wasteland that Kotan had killed the father of the Atrocity a week and a half ago.
“Son, are you ready for the intense training I am about to put you through? Because, the Kaio-Ken technique is not something that is easy to master. I'm only able to pull of the second tier of it, but with enough training, you can possibly achieve the third tier of it son. Then you will become powerful, more so than you already are.”
Smiling at his dad, Kotan nodded and said “Don't worry dad. I'm ready. I am prepared for this training.” And this was true. He'd become a lot more powerful recently, and he hadn't trained with his dad in over a year. So, it would be the perfect time for it, as he was close to his dads power level now.
“Here we are son. Lets land here, and we can begin our training.” Kotan's father, Mangano, an obvious pun on “mango” said, and flew into the wastelands. Kotan followed his dad into the wastelands, matching his speed. There was a three hundred difference in their power level, due to Mangano having been a low class saiyan soldier. Both saiyans landed, Mangano slightly before his son.
Landing behind his dad, Kotan looked at the armour he was wearing, and then his dads. While Mangano wore earth clothing, he still had armour. Both were wearing blue spandex suits, as well as white gloves and boots, and an armoured upper body plate without shoulder guards, just scaled straps. It was to honour their heritage for this training.
“Okay son, show me your full power. But first, let me demonstrate the Kaio-Ken form. Kotan looked at his dad when he said this. Mangano began to power up, and then his whitish aura changed. It became a blazing red, as he said “Kaio-Ken times two!” For a moment, his power level doubled. Kotan was shocked as his power returned to his maximum base power level. “Your power dad....It was twice what it is now.”
Mangano nodded and said “That’s what it does. It doubles, or triples your power. Now, I want you to power up to your full amount, and then attack me.” Kotan nodded, and with a yell, powered up fully. His blue aura ignited around him, and created a crater in the ground. His power rose to its maximum of five thousand, and then his aura began to pulse around him wildly. Mangano grinned at his son and said “Lets begin.” His own aura began to pulse around him as he powered up to his full level of five thousand and three hundred.
Taking a battle stance, Kotan flew at his father. Throwing a punch forward, he was hardly surprised when Mangano grabbed his fist. However, the hybrid had planned for this, and swiftly kicked out his leg. The kick caught Mangano off guard, and Kotan used this opportunity to break out of his dads grip and back flip away from him. Grinning, the older saiyan said “Okay, now try and access the Kaio-Ken. You have to dig deep within yourself to find the energy required.
Kotan nodded, and put his hands to his side. He began to let out a small scream as he powered up, and tried to surpass his current state of power. However, there was a resistance. A mental block of sorts, that was not allowing him to surpass his current power. “Come on, I can do this. I can do this....” Kotan repeated this, as he scream began to grow and he tried to ignite a Kaio-Ken from deep within.
Hunching forward, Kotan continued to scream and struggle. He was trying to contain his Ki, and push himself further than he ever had before. Over his scream, Kotan heard his father say “Son, this energy has to come from deep within. Push hard to find it!” Kotan began to push his Ki and power level further.
With a scream of power, Kotan unleashed a shock-wave of KI, but was surprised by the result. As he unleashed the shock-wave, his aura turned red, as did his entire body, and his KI did not just double, but instead tripled, pushing itself into the ranges of fifteen thousand. Finishing the scream, Kotan fell to both knees, gasping for air. His aura died down, and his body returned to its normal state.
Taking several deep, heavy breathes, Kotan looked at his dad. Smiling, Mangano said “Well done son. You just achieved the Kaio-Ken state. And after achieving it like you just did, you can use it. But, only use it for short periods of time, otherwise it will overwhelm you and you may die. Nodding, Kotan said “Thanks dad.” Smiling a bit, Kotan knew the Kaio-Ken was a good replacement for his Oozaru form, which he had lost recently due to his tail being cut off.
