Gekkou sat in her chair quietly, staring down into her lap to avoid looking at the dead body lying on the floor. She was alone save for the unusual company of two of the Wangetsu’s most powerful rulers: the Southern King and the Northern Queen. The two races heads stood on either side of Gekkou's chair, glaring at each other over the young princess' head. Their animosity towards each other was understandable; their races were at war after all. It was a huge surprise when both of them had shown up at Gekkou's coronation the previous night. It was customary for the four Wangetsu's heads of their race to be invited to the coronation of another High ranked leader, but whether or not the invitation was accepted was another matter entirely. Both the Southern King and the Northern Queen were thousands of miles from Eastern territory and it made little sense for them to travel such a distance in the middle of a war just for a coronation. But, of course, it was probably just to save face and give the implication that the Southern King and the Northern were planning on negotiating an end to the war.
Gekkou wasn't sure what to think about this situation. Her Main butler, the man who had been more like a father to her than her real father the Eastern King, was dead and lying on the floor with a dagger in his back. To make matters stranger, the rulers of two of the world's four most powerful nations were standing by her. When she first discovered the dead butler, she had screamed and called for her servants; instead, the Northern Queen, who had happened to be walking down a nearby corridor, was the first to arrive. Immediately she told her attendant to fetch the King of the Southern and Eastern Territories and when Gekkou's servants finally arrived, she had ordered them to leave. Gekkou had been too shocked to do anything; she had just stood there, staring at the body, while foreign leaders took charge of the situation. She had been holding down the fort for a Father for less than a day and things were already going wrong.
The quiet of the room was suddenly broken as the doors of the chamber were flung open and her Father the King of the East walked in, followed by his handmaid. He carefully stepped around the dead body on the floor and walked straight up to where Gekkou sat, not looking at her, but at the two leaders heads on either side of her. Now three of the four world's most powerful leaders were standing around her and giving each other looks of suspicion; things didn't seem like they would end well.
"Ah, hello there, Eddy" the Queen greeted the Eastern King casually with a flare of mischief in her northern proper-accented voice, "I haven't seen you in quite a while…"
"This isn't the time for your crap, Lady" Eddy responded rather rudely, "This is a serious matter."
Gekkou glanced up at the King of thr South and caught his eye, she couldn't see his mouth due to the dark veil he wore over the lower half of his face, but something told her that he was smiling. "Now now" he said, raising his hands in a calming gesture, "We shouldn't be starting fights with each other."
"Ha!" The Queen laughed, turning her icy blue gaze from King Eddy to the King of the South, "Like you're one to talk about starting fights!"
