Jorlaxl was glad to be back on Suki's ship. The icer was kind enough to let all of his colleagues use his advanced training facility, and Jorlaxl intended to take advantage of all of its several facets. Today, the gravity simulator combined with the sparring machine would seem to be the best option. Walking throughout the ships many corridors, Jorlaxl mentally prepared for the task. His recent acquisition of training armor already seemed to be a good investment. His power has grown much since he landed on planet Vegeta. It seems that it has almost doubled, in fact. Making his way for the training rooms, he smiled. This was going great! Ever since he joined up with lord Suki, he's done nothing but improve himself. He even made a friend.
Walking into the advanced gravity simulator room, he got mentally prepared. Making completely sure that his weighted armor was fastened correctly, he started up the gravity simulator. Going through the many options, he turned the dial on the machine until it read in bright red letters "20x gravity simulator" and automatically felt the effects. Before, he only trained up to 10x gravity, and even that was hard at the time. Now, not only was the gravity doubled, but he also had heavy training armor that made it even harder. It took all of his concentration not to topple over completely. As it was, he leaned against the wall, slowly crouching down due to the enhanced gravity.
This was going to be difficult. Mentally fighting with the gravity as well as physically, Jorlaxl slowly unclenched his muscles in his legs, and stood up cautiously. After a few moments of very difficult physical labor, he was able to stand up, as long as he was leaning against the wall. Thinking to himself how silly he must have looked, he couldn't help but grin a wide grin. After staying in this leaning position for a little bit, he tried to regain his balance, but to no avail. Whenever he tried, he just toppled back over into his crouching position. This gravity was killing him!
Getting back up again was slightly easier this time, and once he was ready, he tentatively took a few steps forward. They were agonizingly slow and labored, and Jorlaxl instantly felt the pressure in his body again. The steps were heavy, and fell hard on the ship's floor, causing it to echo throughout the training room. This was definitely going to take some getting used to. He was already working up a good sweat, and could tell that he would be sweating like a stuck pig when this was over. He'd probably be in as much pain, as well. No pain, no gain... Jorlaxl thought to himself, secretly cursing how weak he was.
He started walking around the room slowly, but surely. He thought he was getting used to the armor back on Vegeta, but this added gravity was killing him. He needed to work on this level until it came to him with ease. He absentmindedly thought about how amazing it would be (and how powerful he'd be) when he could fly around the gravity room easily. Soon, he reminded himself. Soon.
Slowly but surely, his walking became less and less laborious, and after an hour or so of simply walking back and forth, he became able to do it relatively easy. Surprising even himself with his progress, he decided to take a break before progressing further. Bored and panting heavily, he began thinking about his repertoire of abilities. He had his personal favorite, magic missile. That was a good "fill in the gaps" technique. Teleporting enemy? Just blow up everything. He had his life draining tail. Flight, obviously. His recent power up called unyielding spirit that he has yet to use. And lastly, the saiman no jutsu, that he hasn't used yet either.
Realizing he had almost no purely defensive moves, he started thinking about what Suki had at his disposal. He could fly, he used instant transmission, and he had ki beams. That was all Jorlaxl knew about. Thinking to himself, he considered his options. Instant transmission sounded like a good idea. It was used for both offense and defense, and seemed to be a good fallback plan. Charging an enemy and suddenly outnumbered? Transmit your lucky ass back to safety. He liked it! Resolving himself to learn instant transmission, he stood up, and noticed absentmindedly how much easier it was for him to do so.
Walking over to the sparring machine, he simulated a random saiyan enemy, and programmed it to stay still. He didn't need to fight the brute, only to lock onto its ki signature. He saw that Suki could only use the instant transmission to teleport to other places around a certain ki. Having no one else around, Jorlaxl had to make due with this opponent. Eyes glazed and looking to much like a neanderthal to be taken seriously, Jorlaxl smiled at the irony and walked to the other side of the room.
He supposed that the first thing he had to do was relocate his ki. Focusing, he slowly imagined the ocean of ki he had carrying him away, like a faint breeze in the night air. He looked at the saiyan about 14 feet away from him, and imagined his body moving from where he was to the spot behind him. It was hard to see past Jorlaxl's legs moving toward it, and he was having trouble figuring out how exactly to do this. However, he kept trying.
His mind was blank, and he was nothing but a weightless buoy in the ocean of his own ki, seeing himself float away effortlessly. Closing his eyes, Jorlaxl imagined himself moving away to where he imagined. And opening his eyes, he looked down, and saw that he was 3 feet to the right of where he intended. He was able to see past the saiyans right shoulder. That wasn't exactly where he intended, however, but that was progress, and Jorlaxl was happy for it. Something as powerful as instant transmission was invaluable to have at your disposal. And if Jorlaxl could master it...
Again closing his dark brown eyes, Jorlaxl imagined moving to where the saiyan was, except in front of him. When he opened his eyes, he was 2 feet way from where he mentally projected himself. Progress. Looking around, he saw another spot, on the other side of the saiyan. Trying to make the technique more useful, Jorlaxl kept his eyes open, something that could very well mean the difference between life and death in a real battle.
Seeing himself move between spaces without actually moving was surreal. He saw the space he was trying to get to instantly turn into the place he was just moments before. This technique would literally get him places. And it also gave his body time to recover, so now he was ready to continue training. He also felt a little bit lighter in the armor and enhanced gravity, which was always a plus. It seemed that the instant transmission didn't actually count as muscle activity, though. Absentmindedly, he wondered if Caius earned enough to buy his weighted armor.
Deciding that now would be a good time to stop for the day, Jorlaxl shut down the gravity machine (instantly feeling a lot lighter, which was a sharp contrast to the weighted down feeling he had upon entering) as well as the sparring machine. The brutish saiyan dissipated, and Jorlaxl started to leave the training room. He was wrong about sweating like a pig though. He was sweating bullets.
