It was that time again, time to beat his body to hell and back, pushing himself farther an faster then anyone he could keep up with. Although he’d yet to find another of the dragon balls, Zach had returned to the lookout for anther training session. He wasn’t sure about it, but he had the feeling that ever since it’s installation, he’d practically been monopolizing the gravity chamber. That was fine with him though, the more he used it, the faster he’d regain his rightful position as the strongest of the group, he’d worked for it after all.
One more Zach made sure to wake early to avoid interruptions, making his way from his quarters to the kitchen to prepare breakfast. He ate quickly and silently, obviously having no one to talk to other then the kitchen appliances and chairs, and let’s face it, who wants to talk to a chair? Their conversation would be dry and some might say, wooden. Zach breakfast was as he usually made them, high in protein, consisting of ham, a large portion of eggs, toast and both a glass of milk and orange juice. He’d never really thought about it but breakfast on the lookout was almost his subconscious was of making the place feel more like his home used to as it was exactly what his mother used to make before a day out on the farm with his father. Perhaps he was starting to feel a little more comfortable but definitely not so much so as to start talking to the other members though. There was still a score to settle with Nam and he also wished to avoid finding out which one of the group might be one of those monkeys.
After cleaning up after himself in the kitchen, Zach made his way to the lower levels, passing the desk full of old junk he’d looked through and found that weird genie’s ring. He still had it and really had to make a note to himself to tell Kami about it. He also couldn’t get over the fact that he was now apparently immortal. There really wasn’t a way to test that other then to wait and see and let’s face it, that literally will take a decade or two. Until then he would just continue on and wonder whether he would be nineteen next year or if he should still consider himself eighteen.
Reaching the chamber, Zach opened the door and stepped inside, sealing the portal behind him and illuminating the ‘occupied’ light bulb outside. Examining the controls, Zach dialed in a factor of twenty five today, seeing as his last session was at fifteen times normal gravity and more then a week ago. Although it was uncomfortable, the five G increases in intensity seemed to be working out well for him but he intended to change that part of his training regime and up the increase to ten G's. The activities for today would be different as well. He would start off as usual with some pushups and sit-ups a well as other conventional exercises, move on to shadow boxing to keep his eyes and coordination in the intense gravity sharp, and then move on to something new. With the confined space it was difficult to move very far in any one direction so running would be extraordinarily complicated. Zach hoped though that the intense gravity would sufficiently slow him so that he didn’t end up bumping into the walls every time he took a corner.
After turning on the generator, the blonde got through his routine in the intense twenty G pull with some effort but no unexpected difficulties. He was heavier, a expected and had to work harder to move his mass but that was the whole point of the session. By the time he finished he was covered in his customary film of sweat and breathing deeply. The air in the chamber had become hot with his body heat as his exertions surpassed the capacity of the room’s wall to transfer heat away. It would get hotter still as Zach stood after his fifth set of sit-ups and started to jog around the square confines of the room. Taking the corners was difficult as expected and it was no surprise that at every turn the teen had to put his hand out and against the upcoming wall to aid in making the turn. Still he managed to get some decent cardio work out of the space and before long had stopped back in the middle of the room, panting.
The last step of his training was something he’d tried in his previous session, attempting to maintain a stable hover while in the intense gravity. The near exhausted teen sat down in the center of the room, crossed his legs and rested for brief moment before channeling his ki energy and lifting off the floor. He remained there, hovering in place roughly mid way between the floor and ceiling for a good twenty minutes until his supply of energy started to dwindle from the constant and intense consumption. Finally, when his reserve ran out and he was aloft only on what his body was currently producing, Zach started to descend to the floor. He laid back and simply breathed for another five minutes or so, recovering some of the physical energy he’d need to trudge his way over to the controls and shut the machine down. Once he felt strong enough, the boy rose to his feet, approached the door and shut down the training apparatus. Unsealing the door, he opened the entranceway and headed outside, leaving the chamber door open to air the room out while he proceeded upstairs for a much needed shower.
