Name: Samael, The Keeper of the Crossroads, Old Scratch
Race: Makaioshin
Sex: Male
Age: As old as man's desire
Aura color: The viewer's favorite color.
Image:
Attacks:
Crossroads Power: Samael has an affinity for crossroads. Anytime he's in the direct vicinity of a crossroads - that is, any fairly even 4-way intersection of actual roads (footpaths wont work, but dusty country roads that arent paved will), he gains a X2 pl boost.
Crossroads Traveler: Samael can instantly travel to any crossroads on the planet at will. This requires a few moments of concentration, and can only be done on Earth.
Soul Food: Samael can turn collected souls into personal power. This is essentially an absorption technique, but it requires that Samael be owed a soul from his Demon technique. He claims the soul in payment, and as a result gains the pl of the soul's owner as his own.
Demon Technique: Cross Road Blues: Samael's demonic power is to, in essence, make deals. The nature of these deals, however, are of a fantastic nature. Samael can effectively grant minor wishes. All he asks is your soul - or one hell of a favor, to be called in at any time, any place, under any circumstances that he so chooses, and any failure to deliver on the favor defaults the payment to one fresh soul.
Now, Samael isn't the Dragon Balls. He can't grant you immortality, he can't restore the dead, he can't recreate whole planets. He CAN, however:
1- Raise a fighter's power level (grants a x7 transformation)
2- Grant wealth! (I'm thinking this would be limited to duplicating the amount of money he had available to himself at the time - so if he has 200 zeni, he can only grant 200 zeni)
3- Create love, or at least a form of adoration and lust that neatly mimics love.
4- Grant skill in something mundane such as music or basic martial arts (non-ki based, this is purely a roleplaying kind of thing and cannot be used to grant techniques).
5- Restore a mortal's youth ONCE. An old man can get his youth back, but if someone else wishes for that same man's youth later, it's beyond Samael's power.
6- Forgive the debt of another deal. This is rarely agreed upon, but Samael will absolve a previous client of his payment if it means he can get a better soul or favor out of the deal.
Samael cannot hide the nature of the deal - in order to actually perform the technique, the client MUST be fully cognizant of what they are doing. As a result, Samael can never trick someone into wishing for something just to get their soul.
Starting Planet: Earth
Bio: Samael has been setting up contracts for ages. He's always been a business man, and he's good at it. His entire business model was built upon the idea that when mortals come to a crossroads in their lives, they shut down. Mortal men hate making the big decisions, the tough decisions, and Samael has the power to offer them a little bit of leeway to work with. He's helped weak men become strong, poor men become rich, and clumsy men become skilled. He's set up marriages, businesses, and even helped build empires.
All for just the low low price of your soul, to be collected at a later date. Though there are some payment options, if you're interested...
Amongst Makaioshin, Samael isn't particularly famous or respected - just another demon doing his own thing, and he prefers it that way. Makaioshin kings and knights and other high rollers draw too much hostility, and Samael has no interest in being assassinated. Hell, he's not even really into fighting that much. He prefers to strike a deal, or if all else fails just murder you in your sleep. Some call him a coward, he calls himself a pragmatist.
It wasn't until around the advent of Blues music that Samael really started to style himself as the King of the Crossroads - it had always just been a metaphorical way for him to express the kind of distress his mortal clients were in. However, one of his clients (whom had asked for skill in blues guitar) wrote several songs referencing the contract. See, the guitarist had met Samael on a literal crossroads, and took that to mean that literal crossroads were where such things happened. Rather than get upset, however, Samael rolled with it. He taught himself a few tricks to solidify that identity, as well has make the job a bit easier. However, Rome wasn't built in a day, and he knows he could still use a few aces up his sleeve to solidify his venture.
One thing that Samael knows is bad for his business is heroes. He doesnt hate them or even really resent them, but he doesn't like them either because they screw with his profit margins. Mortals don't lose hope as easily when there's heroes afoot, and that makes deals harder to close. Lately, he's been feeling a bit uneasy about the arrival of a brand new Kami, who seems to want to gather all of Earth's great heroes together and fight the forces of evil. Samael, distraught and concerned for his business, has only been able to think of one solution.
The destruction of Central City sent a few contracts his way, you see - simple things, a bit of money, youth restored, things like that. Even with heroes, the world can still be sent into awful turmoil by the actions of villains. Samael has a plan, and all he needs to do is convince just a couple of big bads to work with him.
Zeni:200
Items: Demon Sword - Samael's Demon Sword is shorter than normal, actually taking on the form of a long, slender stiletto dagger.
