Diane was sitting on a rock, looking silently at the clouds above her. She came out here for a little bit of solo training, but she couldn’t get her heart into. She sighed, halfheartedly starting to throw punches into open air. She just wasn’t feeling it. Zach’s letter had told her to stay by the School, that way they could meet up when he returned. From where Diane standing was she could still see the silhouette of the dojo higher up on the mountain. Abuul had offered to give her some more one-on-one training, but at the moment Diane just wanted to be alone.
Wandering through the mountain range aimlessly, Diane would occasionally kick down a tree or fire a kamehameha into the air. Despite these attempts at sparking some fighting spirit, she remained down in the dumps. She had been out all day, since she woke up early in the morning, and now it was evening. The sky was gradually changing in color, and Diane realized she had wasted an entire day moping. I’ve got to focus! She commanded herself. Zach’s gonna come back soon, and I’d better show some improvement when he returns.
Psyching herself up, Diane flared her pink chi, casting a magenta glow on her surroundings. She was trying to make her aura as powerful as possible. Even though there was really no reason to do this in battle, it was hard work and helped train her to handle large amounts of energy at once. To anyone nearby with the ability to sense ki, this would be like Diane sending out a million flares, broadcasting her position. But she was on a mountain range in the middle of nowhere. Besides the people at victory school, who would be watching?

Satin had been wondering around earth for quite some time now, without a single moment of peace or enjoyment in her heart. Her father might have been dead for over a month but it seemed like just yesterday when they had trained together. According to him she was reckless and a horrible defender, she would often try to work on her defensive moves but at the same time she always failed.
Something caught her eye, it was a pink aura. Not many people on earth were fighters in fact her mother told her that most fighters on Earth were probably in her best interest to avoid and possibly destroy if they are weak enough. Satin thought briefly about calling out to the girl, but decided against making herself noticed. ’ Well she might be nice, and this would give me a great opportunity to spar with someone... Or she might be a bit of a annoyance and I'll have to eliminate her.' Satin smirked then walked over to the stranger.
Naturally Satin's hair was a mess and her clothing drenched from the water she lived in. She glared at the girl trying to make eye-contact with her, and give her some indication of her strengths and weaknesses. Also it was expected since she preferred to keep her silence and maintain her cold exterior.

Diane was so focused on powering up her ki, she failed to notice the newcomer until they were basically face to face. The sudden appearance of this girl surprised Diane to the point that her ki faltered, her pink energy fading. She hadn't expected anyone to come this far up into the mountains for no reason. She surveyed the challenger, noting her dark beauty and air of coldness. The girl gave her creeps with her her soaking wet clothes and messy hair.
"Um hi." Diane greeted the newcomer with a tentative wave. "The name's Diane... Are you here for the Victory School of Martial Arts?" As she asked this question she doubted the answer was yes. Diane didn't recognize her from around the dojo, and she had a very distinctive look. The glare Diane was recieving from this girl's eyes was completely unnerving. Her eyes were unwavering, seeming to bore deep into Diane's soul. This chick is freaking me out... She thought to herself, shifting on her feet. She kept an eye on her challenger's movements, preparing for the worst.

'Victory School? How odd, it seems this girl is a student. Mmm perhaps this Victory School thing could be of some use to me in the future... I'll have to remember it for now...' Satin's eyes were still locked on Diane's, the girl seemed to be tamer than she thought. The girl scared her a little considering how she had immediately decided to break the silence, however Satin herself wasn't the type to respond to strangers.
"I haven't a clue what you are saying when you speak of Martial Arts. Your actions are confusing, why would you decide watch my movements when I haven’t done anything to arose suspicion?" She asked smiling tenderly at the girl, but her eyes remained glaring. 'Might as well wait for her to lower her guard, after all if she came from a school then this chick might be stronger depending on her year.' Satin shifted her weight on one foot while her arms remained folded.

The girl's demeanor suddenly changed from cold and distant to warm and possibly friendly. This shift in attitude was enough to put Diane slightly at ease. Hearing the strange newcomer speak was a relief, as her words carried no hostility. Diane wasn't surprised to hear that the girl didn't know what Victory School, but the fact that she seemed confused about the term "martial arts" was a little surprising. Diane decided she wasn't threatened by this girl, so she relaxed, her shoulders untensing and her constant fidgeting coming to a halt.
Returning the girl's smile, Diane explained: "Victory School is dojo built up here in the mountains." She turned around, pointing at the foggy peak of Mt. Paozu. The faint outline of the building was barely visible in the dimming sunlight. "If you squint your eyes you might be able to make it out." Turning back to face the newcomer, Diane continued: "Martial arts... is like a style of fighting." She frowned, trying to find a better way to phrase it. "It's like the art of fighting, you know? The technique and stuff. I'm sure a real master would be able to explain it better."
Done with her flimsy definition of martial arts, Diane was struck with curiosity. "So who are you?" she asked nonchalantly, not wanting to seem like she was interrogating the girl, "What brings up here in the mountains." Even though the girl didn't seem to be a threat, one could never be too sure. Besides, Diane hadn't forgotten the cold first impression she had gotten from her.

Satin remained still as she tried to make sense of whatever that was the girl had just said. Her guard was obviously down, and if Satin wanted to she could easily blast her. But then again she wasn't the type for an ambush, in fact after hearing the girl's definition of the martial arts she was almost discouraged. She tilted her head to the side after the girl was finally done talking, the unfolded her arms and rested them at her sides.
"I take it that you were not taught to fight like I was, and this 'Martial Arts' you speak of is a form of fighting I suppose... how pathetic." Satin's voice changed from friendly to cold in a split second, she often used this technique to confuse her enemies. 'So I guess it's common for humans to be trained by their masters instead of their fathers... how weird, unless I'm the weird one.' She smiled to herself then looked up at the sun trying to locate the dojo. It was indeed hard to look for but she found it without flinching even slightly, her eyes then returned to the girl.
"Careful now, the wrong questions can give off your weaknesses." She cautioned bluntly, Satin liked to mess with people's heads it was the one thing she was good at. "But if you must know, I guess I cant see the harm. My name is Satin, and I actually reside in the wilderness rather than waste my time with civilization..." She smiled and softened her gazed while widening her stance slightly, her arms however remained at her sides.

Diane was thoroughly confused as the girl, Satin, changed her tone yet again. She shifted to the strange coldness that she had shown when she first appeared. What is with this girl? Diane wondered, once again on guard. One second she's silent, the next she's nice, and now she seems kind of cruel... Satin's comments floated through Diane's head. She had called martial arts "pathetic" and had stated that she lived in the wilderness. She also hinted at her own fighting experience.
Diane narrowed her eyes at the girl, not liking the way she was twisting her personality. The girl had basically insulted Diane, or at least she thought that's what happened, and Diane wasn't about to just let such an unprovoked act go unchallenged. "Listen, I don't know what you're trying to pull..." She stated with a frustrated tone, "But whatever it is it needs to stop. There's no reason for you to go around messing with people!"
Diane noticed Satin widening her stance. Usually a change in posture like that meant something was about to go down, and the way Satin had put down martial arts, it was likely going to be a test of fighting skill. Dropping into a low stance she adopted from from her master, Abuul, Diane decided that now would be a good time to test her new fighting style. She locked eyes with her opponent, waiting for the girl to make a move. She didn't know how powerful Satin was, and couldn't risk underestimating her.

Satin's mind swirled with possibilities of her opponent's thoughts and feelings. 'Well, if I was in her position I would be insulted, and I would have blown up something by now. She must have some serious issues.' Satin turned her eyes away from the girl momentarily and looked below her, the ground was loose but still tough enough for a short battle. "Watch your tone, it makes you sound weaker than you are... And I apologize for my misconception. Perhaps I hit a nerve, is there some reason you despise me?" The girl's tone of voice and how she was acting... was beyond Satin's comfort zone. It made her feel slightly annoyed with the human species, as well as disgusted with herself.
'She seems to be controlling her situation pretty well, perhaps this training she has endured really is worth my investigation. In that case it might be wise to not act as a threat.' Satin shifted her position slightly so that her body would be quicker to move if Diane attacked her. " This martial arts thing, might be useful. If you wont mind showing me what your power can do... It would be a great opportunity." Satin smiled at her, then moved her hair away from her eyes as she tied it back with a small silver chain.
Satin wasn't as dripping wet as she was before, the only reason she was even in water was because of the weight it put on her clothing making her training even harder than it had to be. She remained still eye-contact with Diane was lost, she preferred not to face an opponent directly. "I would like to spar with you." She said bluntly as she crossed her arms without a second thought. 'I hope I'm not too confusing, that wouldn't be fun at all.'

Diane was relieved when Satin formally challenged her. Thank goodness... she thought to herself, That was really starting to weird me out! Her opponent had tied her messy hair back and then crossed her arms, asking to spar with Diane. Diane raised an eyebrow, curious as to why the girl would assume such a pose before a fight. Oh well, the fights not gonna start if we just stand here. Diane reasoned. Not wanting to take Satin by surprise, she spoke out. "I'm gonna come at you now... So be ready!"
Waiting only a moment for the comment to register, Diane wasted no more time. With a surge strength she leapt forward, closing the distance between the two combatants in a single bound. As soon as she landed, her right arm shot out, not quite as fast as she was capable of but still having some speed to it. She also held back slightly with power, not knowing how strong her opponent was. Meanwhile she kept her eyes sharp, wary of any sort of counter attack that could be thrown.
This first attack of Diane's was really just test shot. It was a good way to get a read on an opponents reflexes, speed and strength. It was a technique Abuul had taught her in the few days that she had been here at the Victory School, and was one that was apparently very important during sparring matches. Diane was curious to see how this girl, who obviously had no martial arts experience, would react.

Satin had taken her current position for a reason, and the girl's response was predictable yet uncommon. 'She fights with honor, that means I wont likely need to be aware if she attacks me from behind.' She smiled slyly registering all her possible counter moves within seconds, she could choose to attack Diane when the distance between them had been lost, or a smarter option awaited her...
Satin shot upwards, the attack however was a little too fast for her and she miscalculated the time it would take to dodge and worse this meant her reaction times would be slower than expected. The blast went under her, but it had grazed her right leg and since she had a previous injury in that same area the pain was next to unbearable. 'Well then now I'll just have to counter from the skies, if I return to the ground my chances of victory are slim. However she know thinks she's won, if she's cocky this could provoke her into lowering her guard.' With out a second thought Satin placed the two fingers of her left hand to her head, then waited for her energy to charge.
A light violet aura surrounded her body, her eyes started to become dilated because of her concentration. 'If I don't pull this off, my pain will be for nothing.' She ignored the immense pain in her leg and continued to focus on charging up her power, besides watching Diane this was at top priority. 'Okay after I'm done charging, I have to make sure I dont kill her, so I'll have to time it just right and aim just right...' Satin smiled, but she really hated this.

Diane's initial attack grazed her opponents leg, revealing slightly lower reflexes than Diane had been expecting. Apparently Satin could fly, but that would make much of a difference for Diane, considering she could fly too. She has some surprising skills, Diane noted, But she just doesn't have the experience to fight on par with some of the more powerful opponents... This, however, was just Diane's initial impression. It was never a good idea to underestimate your opponent early.
Looking up at Satin, Diane noticed that the girl had brought two fingers up to her head, like some kind of strange salute. Diane could could faintly feel the ki charging in her opponents body, and realized that she was charging up some kind of attack. With a smile, Diane wondered what kind of attack it would be. Should I try to stop it or let it through? Diane asked herself, extremely curious. After a moment of thought, Diane jumped backwards, increasing the distance betweent the two combatants. Bringing both of her hands behind her, she began to charge her own ki based attack: The Kamehameha.
"Kame..." Diane vocalized, beging to gather her ki and concentrate it into her palms. As she was doing so, she was also watching her opponent's fingers, trying to catch a glimpse of anything that could reveal the nature of her attack. "Hame..." Diane called out, Her ki charging almost complete. She was ready to release the Kamehameha at any moment now, and only had to wait for her opponent to release her own attack. Diane was planning to fire her attack head on with her opponents, and could wait as long as she needed. Good thing I did some training in handling my ki before the girl got here... Diane thought, smiling to herself. Now I know what to expect from keeping this kamehameha in my hands for a while...

‘I see now… underestimating me so early? What an idiot. I would have fired right now before I could have a chance to attack!‘ She watched Diane carefully, with the increase in distance and the strange language she was speaking. Wait was that English? Oh well, it was a command for an attack that was one thing she understood.
Satin smiled at Diane then aimed directly for her stomach, she knew that the blow could be fatal if it hit however it would still give Satin the time she needed to gather more energy. And since it would be shot at a distance the chances of a counter attack were likely. ’ Since I have no clue what her current power level is, it will be hard to guess weather or not she’ll try a counter attack. Oh well I’ll just have to work with what I got, for now at least…’ Satin’s eyes grew soft, and her smile faded into a solitary stare. ”Makankosappo!” She called out the word softly, then watched carefully as the blast separated into two beams one going straight and the second spiraling around the first.
Satin drew backwards about twenty feet, then allowed her feet to touch the ground. It wasn’t a very smart move considering her weakened condition, but she had an immense sometimes dangerous sense of pride. ‘I wonder what Akita would say about this, it always was comforting to hear her voice…’ Satin soon became lost in thought, she had forgotten about the battle and was now focusing on her memories. ‘Before I was like this… before I was like him. The past is the past time to forget that and focus on Diane.’ She lifted her head, waiting to see what possibilities for battle she would have next.

Diane saw the attack headed towards her, and her eyes widened. This was a beam that was designed for piercing, and would likely slice right through Diane's Kamehameha (and her body while it was at it). Thinking fast, Diane tensed her muscles and jumped away with blinding speed, moving fast enough to leave an afterimage behind her. This was the Zanzoken technique, and at close quarters could often be mistaken as instant transmission. Dashing quickly to the side, she let Satin's attack pass harmlessly through open air. As soon as she had regained her footing a few meters away she shoved both of her hands towards her opponent's former position. "Ha!" she roared, releasing her energy wave.
Unfortunately, Satin had already drawn back from where she originally was, meaning Diane's attack also missed. Satin was only about twenty feet back from the point Diane was aiming at, but with Diane's shifted angle that distance was plenty for the girl to avoid her attack. That's what you get for not looking before you attack... Diane scolded herself. What a waste of energy!
Diane rushed towards her opponent, planning to kick off some close combat. Satin, however, seemed lost in thought as she approached her. Diane laughed out loud, still running towards the girl. "Get your head in the game!" She yelled, jumping up footfirst at her opponent. This flying kick would be a bad idea for an ordinary fighter to try, since it was impossible for them to change course in midair. It's a good thing Diane wasn't ordinary fighter. If things started looking bad all she had to do was manipulate her ki and fly, so a jumping kick wasn't much of a stunt.

Satin knew backing up was the best possible caution she could have made, and since she was right about the counter attack this only increase her cautionary actions. ' Both our blast were lost, but her attack was more powerful. Why didn't she chance it countering mine, unless she's more like me than I thought...' Satin had hardly noticed what Diane had said, or even why she had said it.
'She knows I was daydreaming, oh well it only makes her more cocky.' Satin smirked and started to giggle a little. 'Says the one who attacks the air!' She said smiling as she regained what little focus remained. 'My leg is still injured, but I guess the worse thing that could happen would be to break it...' Satin then noticed the kick coming towards her, this would probably be the worse decision Satin had ever made in this game.
'If I dodge she has a plan, but if I take it... That's insane!' Satin placed her hands protectively shielding her face, she dung her feet into the ground attempting to guard herself from any jolting damage. She let it hit her in the face, causing her to fall backward in a single motion. She brought up her feet in an attempt to kick Diane, or better yet in order to cause her to take flight. 'If I pull this off, I'm golden for the time being...' She smirked and placed her hands behind her head in a hand stand so she could be able to land on her feet if she missed.

Diane had expected her opponent to try to dodge the flying kick, but instead she was surprised to feel the attack connect. What's she up to? She wondered, confused. Her question was soon answered when Satin dropped back, bringing her foot into Diane's unsuspecting midsection. The kick launched Diane into the air, but she was more taken aback than hurt. Smart move, Satin... she thought, praising her opponent silently. But it'll take more than that to slow me down!
Diane twisted her body around in midair, her hands pulled back together in a familiar pose. "Kame..." Diane called out, charging ki as quickly as she could. "Hame..." She was rushing this kamehameha, trying to catch Satin before she had a chance to counter. "HA!" she finished, thrusting her hands down towards the girl below her. The kamehameha was nowhere near as powerful as her last one, but was enough to cause some serious damage to opponent, especially considering the difference in their power levels.
As the energy surged through the air toward Satin, Diane considered what she had seen so far. The girl had some real skill, that was for certain. She could effectively manipulate her ki into energy attacks and the abilty to fly. That was impossible without some sort of training, but apparently she didn't know what martial arts was. She also stated that she lived in the wilderness, and showed obvious disdain for anything to do with the city. Diane just didn't know enough about this girl to draw any inferences about her life, so she just focused her attention back on the battle. Maybe by the end she would have a better understanding of her opponent.
