A calling in the winds blew across Mount Paozu. Drawing near the good in all things, and the light over the land. As if time itself was bringing into fruition the demands of life, and the darkness that would follow.
This wind was calling of Royd, Pilot of the Nightflyer, beckoning his arrival, pulling every fiber of his being.
But would he accept the calling and arrive, or turn down his destiny

Following the events in Central City, Royd had ended up as something of a celebrity, something he didn’t want. Twice he’d dispatched his hologram to the surface to answer what he thought would be simple questions about the city’s destruction, only instead to be mobbed by reporters. The word had somehow been distorted that he’d gallantly led Mr. Firecracker and his camera crew as well as the crowd away from the battle at great personal risk when in fact he was never in any danger. The stories were quite frankly outlandish even for tabloids.
It was due to these stories and the endless hounding by the press that Royd had become somewhat of a recluse on his orbiting tanker. It had been days since he’d even powered up the communications consol in the control room. And today was just another day in hiding as the space Captain floated into the palatial lounge and seated himself for breakfast. The ship still wasn’t doing well as he’d not been able to make the business arrangements he’d been attempting in Central City. Fuel supplies were getting critically low and whole sections of the grand vessel were now dark and cold. Half the maintenance robots were down to conserve power and even the lighting and heat were turned down in the residential quarters. If the Nightflyer did get fuel soon it would end up as an unpowered hulk, drifting about the planet.
As the black haired man was picking his way through yet another round of emergency rations, a strange sensation lit his telepathic senses up like a Christmas tree. Royd would have ended up crashing into the ceiling and it’s current display of a morning sunrise, as he stood up so fast from the shock of being contacted by someone other then the computer that he’d forgotten about the low gravity. Thankfully he managed to grab hold of the anchored coffee table in the middle of the recessed seating area and reseated himself. The sensation was indescribably bizarre to the telepath. It wasn’t a complete telepathic signal like he could send to the computer or read from it, this was more like a feeling of need was being transmitted to him.
“Computer… Power the anti-gravitational disk and set for manual guidance once I’m below ten thousand feet.” Royd ordered and pushed his try aside. As he floated through the hidden passage into his quarters to retrieve his helmet and cane, the computer did nothing but protest in it’s eerie, mechanical whispering voice.
“Don’t argue with me. Someone down there called, I know you heard it too… And they are still calling.” Royd stopped and looked up to one of the computer’s many cameras. “Someone needs me and I can’t leave them in need. Prep the disk, I’m heading down to the hold.”
The computer reluctantly relented and by the time Royd arrived in the hold, the disk had been charged and it’s display panel was indicating it was ready for departure. Donning his helmet and checking the seals, Royd them boarded the vehicle and tapped the execute key, enabling the computer to open the locks holding the craft in place and launch it out of the bottom of the great ship. Like his previous visit to Earth, the ride down was smooth, uneventful and took nearly an hour. The anti-gravitational disk’s gravity lens propulsion units hummed along as it gradually slowed from orbital velocities to subsonic and eventually slowed to a halt twenty feet above the ground.
Royd had arrived at a mountain side, his telepathic faculties telling him the direction of the call but little else. Guiding the craft in for landing, the onboard computer deployed the landing legs and within moments the anti-gravitational disk touched down and deactivated it’s propulsion system. Again, like his last visit, Royd felt the oppressive gravity of the planet and leaned heavily on his cane as he moved to the rear of the disk and climbed down the steps to the ground. He wasn’t sure who’d called him but he was here and waiting.

Atop the mountain far above other civilization, Royd had been summoned, by what had not yet been revealed however Royd could still here it, a calling that pulled him further through the mountain until finally a figure appeared, it was dark, just as Royd had the opportunity to see it, the wind would pick up, and the figure would be covered in a veil of snow. It seemed tall, at least 5'10, however it did not hold much in the form of muscle or body weight.
The figure was emitting a power, not one of strength but rather one of grace, in the figures presence came a warmth, even atop this cold mountain. A friendly and kind energy that was inviting, and soothing to the young pilot.
"Royd Ellis, Pilot of the Night Flyer"
The figure addressed him directly, the voice seemed slightly older, as if one of Royds elders were speaking with him, however the words, similarly to the energy was calming. It continued once Royd's attention had been directed.
"Your Planet needs you now more than ever Royd, without the support of yourself and the NightFlyer, the earth may find itself in a danger far beyond any it has seen before."
Images come into the young man's head, as a telepath he would recognize that this was a telepathy being used on him to show him the situation, each horrific Image, each death, each life taken from the universe, In what was mere seconds, Royd would be able to see the entirety of an Alien Creatures Rampage. He would learn of Touketsuki Yakedo, and of his plan to attack the very planet that they stood on now
"Royd, if you find it in your destiny Take the Nightflyer to these coordinates, waiting for you there will be a man, one you shall refer to as the Kami, the Guardian of the Earth. He will direct you further."
Without giving a chance for questions, or even a chance for Royd to respond, the figure would be swept away into the wind, disappearing from view, its Aura remained, the warm feeling stuck with Royd, he had been visited from something greater than this world.
Because it was not an actual being, Royds Telepathy would be unnecessary, the instructions were clear, and now was his chance to move forward, to make something larger of his life.
(If you would like to view the disturbing images, simply read Any of Suki's trainings, while we are not aware of the attacks, or transformations, the deaths at his hand are easily seen )

As Royd circled slowly around to the front of his transport, he could feel the telepathic call growing stronger until it finally coalesced into an apparition of sorts. With his helmet still on, he couldn’t clearly hear anything outside but the voice of the apparition spoke to him clearly and after a moment he knew it was via telepathy. At first the raven haired man was shocked to be contacted so clearly by another mind other then his computer. His reaction was not unlike the one he’d had on the ship, although in Earth’s intense gravitational pull, his jump was completely imperceptible.
The figure greeted him and continued on, describing a grave threat that was about to befall the planet and that his help was somehow required. As if the request for help wasn’t enough, the apparition started to send telepathic images of death and destruction on a scale Royd hadn’t thought possible. It was then he started to question, mentally anyway, why he was needed. His body was so infirm that the average man without any special powers or strength could easily do him very serious harm. He could barely move in Earth’s gravity and needed a cane simply to hovel along.
Before he could voice his concerns that they’d asked the wrong man for help, the apparition was gone. Royd stood for several moments, mulling over the encounter and it’s implications. “They need my ship?” he said to himself and started back to the disk’s stairs.
“Why would they need the Nightflyer? She has no weapons to speak of and is nearly eighty years old. Unless they want to move something… That must be it, they must have a plan already in place and need the ship to get something into place.” Royd mused and climbed up onto the elevated platform of the anti-gravitational disk. Plugging his suit’s power and data umbilical into the consol, he tapped his suit’s radio transmitter key and called up to the great vessel.
“Computer. Access what ever funds we’ve managed to secure and then contact the Metro City Spaceport. Place an order for as much fuel as we can afford right now and have it delivered by automated tanker or what ever facilities they have right away. I am going to take the disc on manual control to a new location on Earth. Track my position and once refueling is complete, prepare the ship for atmospheric entry to pick me up.” the space suited man instructed his ship and a moment later the electronic reply came over his suit’s headset.
With that matter out of the way, Royd powered the disk’s systems and lifted off. The vehicle was slow and the trip would take some time, but thankfully a byproduct of the anti-gravitational field was a reduced gravitational pull on the top of the platform it’s self, allowing Royd to stand in comfort rather then in the near agony he must endure while not within it’s field.
{Topic concluded I guess. Power Level increase requested.
Purchased ship fuel. 2000Z.}
