Xanden woke up at about 9:00am, tired and dizzy from the day before today. He had went and stayed the night in his space pod, seeing as how he had nowhere else to stay this was a good option. The nice thing was that even thought the space pod was broken it was still functional for living purposes. Thus, Xanden decided to use his space pod one last time before starting his new training regimen.
After reaching into a closet full of several copies of the same outfit and taking the first one he saw, Xander then got dressed in his normal outfit, which happened to be just a black long sleeved jacket with a flame design on the bottom half of both sides, some black pants with a flame design similar to his jacket’s, and black boots.
“Time to go then.”
After packing a bag and eating some break feast, which was a sort of an odd reddish bamboo from his home planet, Xanden left his space pod to start his training. He had planned out a whole week’s worth of training, and today would just be settling in and getting ready (so to speak). Xanden looked around the area, which was a simple forest with high trees that were taller than Xanden, and a trail going North and South. The sun was out and birds circled the area. It was truly beautiful. Oh, and their was the destroyed ground and farm scattered all over the place. But besides that it was beautiful.
So to find a good place to start training, Xanden walked down the trail.
Xanden was hoping for somewhere that was large and had plenty of things to do. There was no point in training every day doing the one thing over and over again, when he could be doing many things over and over again plus some new things. As Xanden thought this to himself, he almost walked right off the edge of the cliff that the trail seemed to have lead him to. He caught himself, as rocks and bits of dust rocks started to fall down the side off the side of the cliff and onto a road below.
“Few…” Xanden swiped his forehand with his elbow, getting rid of some newly occurred sweat. “Shit that was close. Better pay better attention-WHA-“
Xanden looked far off the cliff, to see what seemed to be a never-ending forest. The tops of trees seemed to stretch on forever, and the sounds of birds and other animals could be heard even to those who could not hear easily. The sun lit the entire area, and their seemed to be human impact around, except the road below the cliff. Their was also was, on the very end of what the eye could make out, high mountains on the verge of the forest and surrounded by trees. They seemed to be in a straight row, where on left and right sides there were small mountains were side by side with bigger mountains and those mountains were side by side with even bigger mountains. In the middle of these, was one huge mountain that was so huge no human eye could see it completely.
“Seems like I found a place to train…”
After flying down to a small area below the cliff and in the heart of the forest, Xanden tired to think of a small little training job he could do. Has slowly took of his bag he had rested on his shoulder, he noticed hat he scared off all the nearby animal life. This did not bother him, but surprised him since on his home planet animal life was very fond of him. Anyhow, back to the subject of training, Xanden needed something to do. Something that would test himself. As he pondered this, Xanden slowly turned around and saw the massive mountain that built up from the ground and went to what seemed to have gone to the outer reaches of the planet.
“…Perfect.”
And with that, Xanden pushed himself off the ground with one foot, as bits of dust and some leaves flew around below him, As he started to fly towards the mountain.
Reaching the bottom of the mountain was not hard, and didn’t take Xanden that long. It only took him about a minute. After he reached his destination, Xanden started to stretch. He needed to get ready before he started some tough training.
“…Okay, so how should I do this? I haven’t carried rocks for a part of a training regimen for years…” He turned to a part of the mountain, with a sharp glare. Then out of nowhere, dust and dirt flew everywhere, as the side of the mountain broke into equal pieces of rocks, each boulder weighing around 10 tons. Nothing much. Xanden slowly walked up to the newly made piles of boulders and dirt, and placed them onto his shoulders and (sort of) wrapped his arms around the boulders.
“K, this should be good amount to start with.”
He then slowly turned to the trail, which lead up the entire mountain way. It was in a spiral path, so Xanden would have to be quick and accurate if he wanted to pass. One wrong move and the rocks, or even himself, would fall off the mountain and most likely fall to the ground below.
With a sudden SWOOSH Xanden took off, as the dirt behind him covered every square inch of where he went. 1 level, 2 levels, 3 levels, Xanden was climbing up quick. He had only made it so much up he mountain thou, and had a long ways to go if he wanted to get to the top. He turned once, he turned again, he turned one more time, and again and again this pattern happened. Then, with a sudden wrong move of turning a bit to slow, one of the rocks fell off the stack located on Xanden’s shoulders and broke upon impact with the ground. The THUD sound of the rock displeased Xanden.
”Shit. Going to have to take it slow if I want the rest of these rocks to get to the top…”
Xanden then turned and walked slowly up the mountain, trying not to get impatient and start to run off again. But he couldn’t help it. This was boring, and the rocks were just starting to take their toll on Xanden. They were heavy, and besides, Xanden only had so much time to rest since his deadly spar with Jorlaxl. This may have not been a good idea, but Xanden knew he had to finish what he started and hell he was going to do it.
As he started to turn, the toll on Xanden’s body started to get worse. “UGH!!!” the rocks were heavier then Xanden thought they would be. Then again, Xanden was just starting to get warmed up, so there most likely wasn’t anything to be worried about. Still, the rocks seemed to be tough. And were putting quite the strain on Xanden. But one thing had kept him going: He was weak, and he needed to get stronger.
When he went to Central City the day before, he had met two powerful beings: Samael and Jorlaxl. The both of them were stronger then Xanden, at least stronger then him in his normal form. And the sad part is, they probably weren’t the strongest on the planet! Then again Xanden could transform and most likely beat anyone that stood in his way…still, he would prefer to be stronger them normally and not have to resort to his transformation to get a power boost.
In the battle with Jorlaxl, Xanden got some good punches in, but his ass was handed to him. Jorlaxl had the upper hand strength way, even after Xanden had trained for a full year! Sure, in the end they both proved they were powerful, but this information that people were stronger then Xanden power wise drove him almost insane.
This is what made him go on. This was his drive.
Xanden was getting close to the top, and was nearing the end of his of his training. His body would need a rest afterward, considering how damage it was from such a simple training exercise. Heck if he started to speed up now…then the idea hit him. Why not speed up once again? Then he could finish this quicker and continue his day. The more he thought about, the better it sounded. Besides, Xanden would love it if he could get these rocks off his back.
Then without another thought, Xanden suddenly sped up and ran for the next turn.
“Now…Turn Now…WAIT, NO-“
But it was to late. Xanden was too hasty, and made a wrong move. He slipped right off the edge of the mountain, and started to fall. Before he knew it, his face was almost right on the ground. Luckily, Xanden was not a slow thinker. He quickly thought of what to do and stopped mid-air and started to float, right above the treetops. Then, the sudden sound of a “THUD” came as dust and dirt flew high in the air thanks to the rocks’ heavy impact on the ground.
Xanden looked up to where he was standing before he fell off of the mountain.
“Wha..I wasn’t even near the middle of the mountain? How high is that thing?”
Suddenly, great frustration came over Xanden. “I can’t try again right now. I need to rest. But mark my words, I will get to the top of that mountain.”
And so Xanden flew back to where he dropped off his bag, where he could rest his body and create a camp for the night.
