Saru could be seen waiting outside with all of the other students waiting for Metropolis High to open it's doors. It was 7:15 am in the morning and despite the fact that it was the beginning of November, it was 78 degrees outside since Metropolis Island was not only known for it's futuristic cities, but also it's all year warm climate. Saru could be seen leaning against the wall of the school wearing a black T-shirt, beige cargo shorts and white sneakers. His fury brown tail could be seen wrapped around his waist making it appear to be a belt made of fur than an actual tail. Normally, when he was wearing his gi, the young saiyan let his tail hang loosely, but he always felt too different whenever he did that at school, so he had it act like a belt.
I can't wait till this marking period is over. I pretty much used up most of my sick days for the marking period thought Saru feeling a bit down that he couldn't just skip school and train today. Sure he wasn't planning on going to college like most students, but his parents wanted him to at least be the first one in their family to graduate from high school.

"Uhh, what time is it?" Degon was tired, and wished his mom didn't wake him up so early. His friend named Devon told him it was 7:16. He sighed and started stretching, his bones ached and his brain was near dead, but hey, he was "required for school". He started to get deep in thought though, "One more year of this..." His friend Flame then said, "Stop thinking out loud!" Degon shrugged, then waited.
While waiting, he started thinking about Crane School, how he missed his training, how he missed his old master, how he barely remembered much about it except learning the basic rules of fighting, and two of the Crane School's signature techniques. But now, he just stood there, wishing he could train like he could before.
He looked all around him, basically the whole school just sitting there, waiting for the doors to open. A few faces here and there that looked familiar (you'll meet a few later), and he also noticed how everyone was dressed for the summer time-like weather. He himself was dressed differently than everyone else. He wore a white sleeveless hoodie, black cargo shorts, and white sneakers. His hood was up at the time, just incase anyone around him wanted to talk to him, he wanted to make sure not too many people knew who he was, because he was fairly popular, but fairly hated as well.
Degon then noticed someone that he was familiar with. This person was Saru. He started using his ability to sense ki to check on Saru, in his head, he was thinking about the power level difference, and how much he wanted to fight Saru. For a human, he really enjoyed the idea of fighting. He told his friends to stay back, and then he began to walk towards Saru. "Sup, you're Saru, right?" No matter how Saru answered, he would then ask, "Are you a fighter by any chance?"

I wonder if I can get dad to spar with me later today? thought the young saiyan as he continued to wait for the school doors to open. Then all of a sudden, Saru heard a voice calling out his name and when he turned his head to face him he noticed a boy with blue hair that appeared to be older than him. Saru knew right away that the boy was Degon since he was pretty much the only student to have skipped into his grade. A feat that was very uncommon for a place where some of the most brilliant people in the world come from. Like some of the other students, Saru believed that Degon is destined to become one of those great people due to how smart he was.
"That's me. And your Degon if I remember correctly"said Saru having absolutely no clue as to why someone like Degon was actually talking to him. That was until the blue haired teenager asked him if he was a fighter and at first, Saru thought that he was going to ask him for some lessons in martial arts. After all, the really smart people aren't known for their physical strength and practicing martial arts was the closest thing to becoming a super hero or an action hero in the movies.
Then Saru sense a strong power coming from Degon which seemed to be at least half as strong as Saru's own power and through that, Saru could tell that Degon was also a fighter. Saru's face couldn't help but light up in excitement as he couldn't believe that there was another fighter in his school and around his own age. Normally, he would encounter other teenagers his around his age at the Turtle School and Metropolis Island wasn't known for producing powerful fighters.
"I'm a fighter who has trained at the Turtle school. Where did you receive your training?" asked Saru telling Degon in his own way that he knew that he was strong.

Degon's friends were still staying back, which meant he wouldn't need to explain nothing to them... Yet... But when he was done talking to Saru, oh he would have to explain a fair amount of things that the two talked about. Degon was excited that Saru was also a fighter though.
In his head, he realized that he remembered hearing about the Turtle School. "Okay, well I was trained at the Crane School from ages 3 to 5."

Three to five and he's this strong? This guy must be a very gifted fighter if he only had that much training thought Saru after Degon told him that he trained at the Crane School for about 2 years. As a student of the Turtle school, Saru has heard about the Crane's school's signature technique, the dodon ray. A move so powerful that it not only outclasses the kamehameha wave in power, but also requires little to no charge time.
"Well I've been going to the Turtle School for every summer for 5 years. Although, I initially learned how to fight from my parents, who are also fighters. My dad once competed in the World Martial Arts Tournament, but he lost in the preliminary rounds" explained Saru.

Degon stood there listening, this conversation started to get interesting. The 16 year old just nodded when Saru talked. Then, out of nowhere, his brain gave him an idea, "You're dad fought in the World Tournament?! I heard it was hard to make it past the Preliminary, so I'll give him that... Well, I heard there was a tournament going on this weekend (not the intergalactic one that's apart of the Plot). I heard that if you win in that one, you could end up being a fan favorite whenever the real World Tournament comes around..."
Right after he said it, the bell rang. "Uhh, but are you down..? We have every class together, so you give me the answer in class... 'Kay?" He then began to walk towards the inside of the school, while eventually, his girl friend, Angelica, popped up behind him and walked with him.

"Really? I haven't heard about that" said Saru looking quite interested in this tournament. Sure he wasn't planning on entering the World Martial Arts Tournament until he graduates from high school so that he could spend more time training. But this tournament seemed like the perfect place to test his skills as long as the martial artists there at the very least surpassed the human level. The bell for the school suddenly rang and before he or Degon headed off the class, Degon asked if Saru was down for joining it.
Degon would then head into the school with Saru entering a few minutes later. As Saru headed to his home room, he saw Degon walking in the halls with his girlfriend Angela. Lucky thought Saru as he passed him. The young saiyan couldn't help but feel a little jealous. Not only was this guy very smart and a fighter, but he also had a girlfriend. And while he did enjoy a fight like any other saiyan, he did like girls like any other teenage boy. And so far, he hasn't had a single girlfriend mostly he preferred girls or women that were older than him and he spends a lot of his free time training.
When Saru entered his homeroom, he took a seat in the left hand corner of the room near a window expecting Degon to sit next to him so that they could talk more about this tournament.

As Angelica walked with him, he felt her presence as she started getting close to him, rubbing her body up against his body, trying to let him know she loved him in he own way. Degon smiled at her, as they kissed for atleast five seconds. When he was done, he noticed when Saru was walking past him. "Uhh, babe, gotta go to homeroom, you should talk to me at Lunch.." She smiled at Degon, and walked to her homeroom.
Degon then walked to his own homeroom. He began to search the class, and finally found Saru, sitting by the window with an empty seat next to him. When the teenager attempted to sit down though, a girl with big thick glasses, braces, and freckles walked up to the seat, and sat down. The teacher wasn't there yet, so he could definetly have a talk with the ugly female that took his spot.
"Uhm... Excuse me, but that's my seat." The girl snorted, "I don't see your name on it... Just because you're the grade skipping prodigy, doesn't mean you can do whatever you please.." "Uh,basically I CAN do whatever I please, I have an IQ of 230, basically I don't even need to be here... So you should move..." There was something about his eyes though, the whole thing turned black for a second, and it was something scary.
The girl went wide eyed, then she got up silently, and walked slowly away. When Degon took his seat, she began to run to another desk. "I was just kidding with her, my IQ is 240..." He then smiled, "So, 'sup with you?"

When Saru saw Degon enter the class room, he waved to him to get his attention. As the blue haired teenager walked over to the seat next to him, this ugly fat girl took the spot. Degon told the girl that this was his seat, but the fat girl acted like a total b**** and told him that the seat didn't have his name on it and the fact that he was some kind of prodigy doesn't mean he could do whatever he pleased. Saru was then going to suggest that he could sit in the seat in front of him, but before he could say anything, Degon told the girl that he could do whatever he wanted due to his IQ and that he didn't need to be here.
As he said this, Saru couldn't help but notice how his eyes turned black for a second which gave him a slight shiver down his spy as he couldn't help but get the feeling that he was being serious about what he was saying. The girl would then get out of the seat and after Degon sat down, he told him that his IQ wasn't 230, but actually 240 before smiling. The smile changed the overall atmosphere and Saru figured that it was probably just an act to get her out of the seat.
"Only 240?" laughed Saru before Degon asked him what was up.
"Well ever since you mentioned that tournament, I've been thinking about entering it. Do you plan on entering?" asked Saru who wanted to see for himself what the Crane student could do.

Degon kept the small smile on his face while Saru was talking. "Yeah... My main thing is though.. Everyone there has pretty high power levels, but none of them exceed 300 from what I understand... So, it wont be as fun as the World Tournament... But then again, I did here that besides us, there's one more new guy, and when I went to check this guy out, his Power Level was like 4 times my own..... I mean, it's a rumor that he's joining..."
Degon felt a shiver go down his spine, "But, I get the feeling we can take him..." So now, Saru should have his answer, the answer was simple, Degon was in, but he was scared. "The guy's name is Brock Lee... He's that famous actor that does the ninja movies.."

"Don't worry too much about it. Besides there's always the chance that he'll fight me instead of you and I know the perfect technique that can take out Brock Lee in 5 seconds flat" said Saru with a confident smirk on his face and his voice full of confidence. The technique he was referring to of course was the Kaio-ken technique, a technique that could amplify his power level three fold allowing him to quickly overpower his opponents. Though the technique was more devistating against opponents around his base strength.
Saru was very sure that he would win this tournament if he only needed to worry about Brock Lee, though the only thing he needed to worry about though is someone grabbing his tail. Even a very weak human could do some serious damage to him if his tail was grabbed and started attacking him. But the chances of that were very slim, after all, he never tells anybody that weakness of his.

Degon was even more intrigued towards this conversation now. He wanted to know more about this technique, but he had an idea. "Is this the Kaioken ability that is taught at the Victory School?" He had heard about this once when he snuck off to the Crane School last summer to perfect the Dodonpa.
"If so, could you teach me? I have a Crane Technique that would go great with that.."

"Sure is. My dad learned it during his brief time at the Victory School and taught it to me. The only thing is that you need perfect control of your ki. The slightest error could do some damage to your body and even kill you if your not to careful. Even I had a difficult time learning the technique and even though I have perfect control over my ki now, it still drains a lot of energy" explained Saru emphasizing on the word perfect. It wasn't a technique Saru himself was willing to teach since he felt that he wasn't skilled enough to actually teach yet and unlike Degon, Saru actually benefited from serious injuries. As for a human, there was always the possibility that the injuries could make him weaker and worst case scenario make a human unable to fight again.
