A Final Request and The Start of Something New

Kazama flew towards what he felt was a fading power signature. The majin could not figure out why it seemed familiar but it reminded him of his crew members that were on the ship. But he couldn't place it. It may have been from the impact into the planet but ever since Kazama had been able to think straight.

Then add to the fact that as Kazama approached the fading power signature only seemed to make the deep seeded hunger grow. Kazama had never experienced this sort of hunger before and he felt that it was beginning to cloud his thoughts. He didn't like the feeling one bit and was really beginning to long for a solution to the problem.

After about maybe ten minutes of flight he came upon the source of the fading energy and that was when he realized why the power signature seemed very familiar. The power signature was of the Pharaohnian that had been traveling with the group of misfits from Vegeta.

Kazama landed silently on the ground and found that the outer appearance of the alien was pretty much undamaged but wondered what damage his body had sustained when he was sucked from the ship on entry. The majin did not notice the final occupant of the ship lying around anywhere and assumed that he had died alone.

"Pharaohnian...you are dying..." Kazama stated plainly. The remark was rather blunt but had a hint of compassion buried within the words. However Kazama felt the hunger grow to the largest it ever had when he laid his eyes on his dying 'comrade'. He did not understand why but his thinking was not the clearest at the moment.

Anubis X was dying. He hadn't realized it when his body slammed into the ground at speeds no one should ever hit anything at. He had thought he had been fine, but when he went to fly everything felt wrong. blood seeped from his mouth, and he fell to the ground. Then came the pain. It was excruciating, and all at once he knew he was dying. He had never though to go out like this. His thoughts drifted to Osiris, what would his lord think? He let out a wheezing barking laugh at his own predicament.

A strong powerlevel came quickly his way and there was a glimmer of hope within Osiris that it was his lord, on his way to say goodbye as there would be no saving Anubix, even for the god of the dead. His hope faded when the red creature known as Kazama landed near him.

"Pharaohnian... you are dying..." He stated it bluntly, as there was no question. Anubix nodded and smiled a grim smile.

"I'm aware." There was something unsettling about the way Kazama was looking at him, almost... hungry. "There's not much I can do... wanted... to see my lord... one last time..."

"You will die before he could get here." Kazama replied without compassion, but not harshly.

Anubis laid his head down and felt the life slowly leaving him. The pain faded, but he was still holding on. For what he wasn't sure. He looked back up at the Majin.

"will... you... protect him?" He didn't have to say who he was asking the majin to protect, since going on this journey he had only found one being he connected with. He looked up at the Majin, his last hope resting on his shoulders.

"Will...you...protect him?" The Pharaohnian weakly asked. The Majin looked over the alien. He did not have long for this plane of existence and somehow his body knew and wanted him to do something but he was not sure what.

As he stared at the dying man he could not help but think of the look on Poso's face when his student, Kazama, had taken his life savagely back on the Mezo Capital. His face aghast with both shock and horror, the pain that exploded into his body and then the life slowly draining from his eyes. Poso had mouthed something but Kazama could not remember what it was. He himself had been surprised at the way his body had moved and how decisive his actions had been.

Kazama closed his eyes and took a deep breath the memories of his dying mentor faded away. When he reopened them again he just saw the dying man. He took a step forward and watched the man breath. Somehow seemed strangely fascinating and something called out to him to make sure that he would not be wasted that he could still be useful to those that he cared about.

"Will I protect who?" Kazama asked trying to break his fascination with the dying man.

"Osiris...Lord Osiris...will you protect him?" The dying Pharaohnian asked.

Kazama paused he was not sure who was Osiris but then he remembered that he had called the android, Drexx, Osiris multiple times. He was not sure if he ever found out the reason why but it did not matter now.

"Is that what you want me to do? To protect the android?" Kazama asked slowly creeping forward.

The Pharohnian nodded. It was a simple request, and it was to be his last one. The life was fading fast from his body and he was growing weaker by the second. By contrast the hunger in Kazama's eyes was growing stronger.

"Do... you... wish... to... absorb me?" Anubis asked, coughing up blood after. Somehow he knew that's what Kazama wanted.

Kazama looked taken aback, the hunger being replaced by fear. Anubis knew he was a protector, but also knew of Majin's. His species had interacted with their kind before, though he had never said anything to Kazama about it.

"You...can..." Anubis said, there was a catch in his throat. "I'm dying... either way..."

Kazama's hunger returned in his eyes and after a long moment the being nodded.

"First... a deal..." Anubis quickly said through the pain, gathering the last of his strength to speak. "Protect him.... No matter what.... Allow no harm... to come to my lord..."

He clung on to life, waiting for the Majin's response.

Kazama's heart skipped a beat. There was something deep inside of him that screamed for Kazama to agree to absorb him. Though he had never been told that he was able to absorb people, and he was not even sure what the Pharaohnian meant by absorb him. He had never done such a thing and had no idea to even know where to start. But looking at the Pharaohnian he knew time was beginning to draw to a close and that he would have to decide.

"I agree. You will not go to waste." Kazama stated without even thinking. His hand seemed to move on is own and came to rest on Anubis X's chest.

Upon touch with the Pharaohnian his body reacted in a way it never had before. His chest opened up and expanded as if the gummy substance of his body was meant to do such a thing. It caused Kazama no pain and without thinking his expanded cloak of a body engulfed the dying alien.

As he completely covered Anubis Kazama experienced a rush like he had never in his life before.

The darkness came quickly. Anubis witnessed Kazama's chest open up to receive him, but he was not frightened. "You will not go to waste." The thought comforted him. He trusted Kazama, he knew that he would keep true to his word. He knew that Osiris would be well looked after, and with his power combined with Kazama's, the new being would be formidable indeed.

"Use me well." Were his final thoughts, and without wondering how he knew Kazama had heard him. His energy fully left him. Then total darkness.

Kazama's mind was flooded with visions. Of events that he had no recollection of. He saw a planet filled with sand and heat, of pyramids of stone and technology, of half human half animal creatures wandering the streets of a planet named Ra, and creatures named Icers marching across the planet laying waste to the population. The majin was filled with rage at the site of the decimation even though he had done something very similar numerous times.

He was filled with personal memories of what he could only believe were that of Anubis'. It showed visions of him growing and maturing. They flashed before his eyes as if they were at light speed but he was able to see all as if he lived the life itself. The feelings that Anubis' had experienced Kazama felt now.

Anubis's power flowed through Kazama's very existence, he felt the energy separate from him at first and then it seemed to fuse with his own.

Kazama appeared in a dark world with lights flashing by him as only streaks. Anubis appeared before him with what he could only assume was a smile on his face. The Pharaohnian closed his eyes and placed his hand on Kazama's chest. As soon as he did a bright white light blinded the majin.

When he opened his eyes again he was once again standing on Namek. The hunger that had plagued Kazama for the last several weeks seemed to have miraculously disappeared. He could still feel Anbuis' presence around him for a split second before dissipating and leaving only Kazama by himself.

Kazama felt different, he felt stronger, he felt his power signature had changed, evolved almost. Kazama turned in a circle until he spotted a small pool of water. He jogged over to it and looked in and was surprised by what he saw.

While his overall appearance did not change little details had. He now had his eyes outlined by black marks that his brain wanted to call kohl, he body seemed to have his muscles more definitively defined on his body, he had to admit that it did look much better than what he had in the past and then to top it all off he was pretty sure he had become taller.

The majin spent a few minutes admiring his new body before he stood up and focused on the sky towards where his comrades were when he had left them. He could still feel Sohko, the Namekian and the android, the creature that he had sworn to protect.

At the very thought of the android Kazama turned behind him. He could have sworn he had heard something very faint on the wind. He spun one more time back towards where everyone was. This time he knew what he heard.

"Use me well." A voice on the wind said.

Kazama let a smile slip across his face as he felt his power hit the new higher limit that he had attained.

"I will. I will protect everyone that I can. Not only Osiris." Kazama said as he felt a spirit pass from the world unto its final resting place.

"Rest easy, comrade. Your lord will be in good hands," Kazama said as he took off and flew once again towards the fight of the Saiyan and Namekian.
