Vera smirked and walked around the lower ring, here were the weakest of society. However they were still dangerous in their thinking, someone like Vera was never too trusting. After all, she was a half-breed and a cling on to her father’s reputation as a murdering drunk. In the last seven years her father had murdered several saiyan warriors in bar room brawls, that wasn’t very wise when he had a half-breed child living with him.
Rensou Hiren. She thought smiling. ’Such an odd name, I wonder what kind of favor I can get from him. He owes me big time, and that must be killing his pride.’ Vera stopped and saw some men from her peripheral vision, judging by the style of armor and scent they were probably elite warrior status. They cringed their noses and looked over at her, obviously contemplating weather or not she was a half-breed.
One of the men appeared as scrawny, oh wait... It was a girl. Her short hair cut and flat chest was deceiving, and the fact that her face was scarred and hard to see would get anyone confused. As for the man, he was muscular and un-groomed. It had probably been a while since he bathed, same would go for the girl considering the dirt on her face.
“Hey mutt! Get over here!”
It was the woman who had addressed her, and in the type of tone that she couldn’t refuse. Vera’s smirk grew wider and walked towards them, as she approached the saiyans had a slightly amused look that quickly went to annoyance.
” What’s so funny?”
”You are.”
” Are you trying to piss me off?”
The man started to look confused, while the girl seemed to be even more pissed off at Vera for some odd reason. Perhaps the woman had some vendetta against half-breeds, however that was none of Vera’s business.
” Yes. I find it amusing to see such feeble minds try to control someone more powerful than them.” Vera’s voice was indistinguishable, she really didn’t believe that the two elites were anything more than one thousand in power level.
The man stepped up his fist and teeth were both clenched and he seemed to be one second away from exploding. The girl however seemed just curious, seeming to lose her hostility but having no desire to control her partner. Her eyes snapped back to the man after she saw a flicker of blue light, she then realized that he was powering up. She stepped backwards then took a deep breath, as she was about to release her breath of fire something cold and hard seemed to bash into her spine.
She fell forward and noticed that the woman had blindsided her, while the man was now completely ready to fight. ’ Ambushed! Of all the dirty low down-’ Her thought was cut short with the single kick in the face she had received from the man, knocking her back against the wall of the small alley way.

Chance. How often did it weigh against an individual. . .infinite amounts, for certain. But then again, there were always countless situations when the thing played into favor. Vera, for instance, was definitely in the midst of a spell of terrible luck. Downed and assaulted, this was most definitely a situation she would never wish upon herself or anyone else.
Perhaps not. The individual that happened to chance upon the two merciless Saiyan having their way with her blood and bone was one she might wish such a thing upon. Despite saving him in the forest with that vast plethora of mutations, it seemed she had never really cared for Rensou Hiruen in the least.
Perhaps it was the idea of living with herself that had caused her to nurse him back from near death that swayed her hand. Maybe the other half that completed her whole was a bit more empathetic than the violent blood also surging through her veins. Whatever caused it, there was something impressive behind it. Saiyan blood was a blinding rapid that drowned whatever else chanced enter it. A river without weakness.
Or so it could have been argued until that fateful week the girl had chosen to save a life she probably never should have, and Rensou Hiruen gave her what of his money he could and promised her a favor in return.
An evening stroll had brought him here, Laiz nor Dozah in his company. Rensou was alone, perusing his thoughts for what to do next with himself when he had heard the impact of flesh against flesh in an alleyway he passed in the exact moment one of the offenders had struck Vera. Onyx orbs widened with shock as he stared at her brown hair and fallen form.
In addition to the violent fighting blood within every warrior upon this planet, there was a silent resolve and determination to back every word ever uttered from their lips. Each marking inscribed upon the parchment. Debts must be repaid in full, and Rensou's had only been partial with the monetary compensation.
In the lapse of but a moment the merciless mass was placed between they and Vera, and steeled gaze met their eyes as they attempted to summarize what exactly was occurring here. Rensou's auburn tail whipped behind with boredom, and total lack of respect for the male and female whom stood before him.
"Get up, girl," those two lungs would urge, and for the first time in his life Rensou had applied a somewhat respectful term in the addressing of a half Saiyan. Girl. Not cur, nor mutt, or halfbreed and most of all freak. The two Saiyan before him looked to each other for assurance as the male took a single step forward.
A blur of blackened pants and whitened boot rocketed upward and first knocked the wind clear out of him, and then sent him flying toward the streets as the attack finalized.
"The next time, I'll cut your fucking head off with this foot!" roared Rensou as he stared daggers into the female, watching as the male rose with shock spread across his features more than pain itself. In an instant the male had left his sight. Rensou could only hope that Vera had risen behind him and had recuperated slightly.
Why? The male was a Saiyan, and it was certain with that point that he would never run from this confrontation. . .no, he sought a more advantageous position. He would most certainly come from behind to dismantle Rensou unless Vera stood in his path.
The theory was affirmed as the female lunged forward with all her speed and thrust a fist with all her strength. Clearly, she was to occupy the last Hiruen as her comrade attempted a crushing blow from behind.

Vera simply got up and wiped her face and got up, she would love to wish this on her enemies. After all they deserved it in her opinion. Not most warriors would, but someone who’s been spat on and disgraced all her life wouldn’t exactly be an honorable person in her thoughts.
Then she looked to her side, noticing the Saiyan boy she had met earlier in her life. He looked different from when she found him exhausted and half dead in the forest, he was stronger and well toned. Perhaps he might even pass for semi-decent in looks. After all, she had never met anyone who looked as good as she did in her eyes.
Vera was slightly surprised to see him come to her aid, but she was pissed off to see the glare and determination in his eyes. This was probably the way he was going to repay his dept. A life for a life, just the kind of dirty trick she would pull herself.
"Get up, girl,"
She blinked in astonishment, he hadn’t called her anything that he would normally. Perhaps it was safe to assume that he gotten soft within the past few weeks, however she smiled due to the confusion of her attackers. ”Shut up Inbreed, I can care for myself!” She said smirking as the venom in her voice started to leak out unexpectedly.
As soon as she finished her sentence she barely glanced as he shot up in the air, instantly taking out her male attacker before going after the female one with a pair of daggers… How impulsive. She kept her eyes on them and turned to notice that the male contender had risen and was going to opt to blindside Rensou as he had done before.
With pure anger Vera jumped over and intercepted him with her foot. Instantly knocking him over as she fell to the ground and landed in front of Rensou. Then she turned her murderous glare over at her female opponent, from the side it almost looked like she was jealous of something. Vera took a deep breath then used her Honoo technique.

Brutal. The verb described perfectly the strike Vera delivered to the male Saiyan as he attempted to decimate Rensou from behind, and just in time. It thoroughly assessed the wording Vera had assaulted Rensou's ears with, -inbreed.- For a moment a shocked expression of anger and confusion consumed his features before a forearm caught the kick of the female and a blast of manifested energy sent her skidding backward, but she remained upon her feet.
Efficient. So deftly had the threat been dealt with by both the full and half-blood that the pair they faced at this very moment were suddenly greatly outmatched. The woman cried out for her comrade, and his arms finally began to settle under him as Vera, behind the last Hiruen, began to assimilate the ki necessary to power her Honoo. Already the gladiator could fill the heat in the air.
Killer. The male Saiyan never regained his footing, and the female never had a chance to evade. With a single blinding step Rensou had cleared the distance between he and the former and lifted a powerful leg into midair before powering it down. The skull of the man popped with a sickening boney crunch, and blood and grey matter eased out from the stomping foot. There was so much of it, the crimson. . .bubbling from lifeless lips and rolling eyes as the body thrashed with such a horrific assault on the nervous systems. As for the female, her body never received the pleasures of thrashing wildly about as her whole was incinerated into a mass of black ash as the scream for her fallen friend rendered her incapable of evading Vera's flame. The scream was quickly eradicated with the roar of the Honoo.
Brutal efficient killers. Rensou had quickly assessed that Vera had no care for his life and that her Honoo would engulf him as well. . .had not his power and perception vastly outstripped her own. The scarred soldier of Saru Arena had flipped behind her, and now stood with crossed arm staring at the back of the young woman.
"Had you been planning on killing me with that attack, as well?" he inquired, a wry smirk etched on his face as he rolled his fingertips along his forearm, calmly awaiting her reply. She had called him an inbreed and he had called her a cur. She had saved his life and he hers. Things were even.
Would Rensou and Vera part ways at this very instant and never converse again, perhaps. Perhaps not.

Vera didn't really care that her blast didn't hit him, after all it wasn't her goal to kill him. However she smiled vaguely at him as she let out a small laugh from the irony of her moment. " My my, I cant believe I accidently might have killed you. Even if you did save my life." she said a bit of girlishness detectable in her voice.
She stepped calmly over the ash that remained from the female's body, and then her foot splashed into the crimson mixture of blood and fragments of bone. Rensou had indeed proved himself a capable and evasive warrior, and seemed to be fit and seasoned. Perhaps he would do well as her partner.
The hybrid thought it over for a second before circling him and thinking about how well they had worked together as a team. "It would appear that we work well together don't you think?" She asked smirking as she stepped in front of him with her arms crossed over her stomach.

Blood seeped across the ground from the shattered skull and threatened to dirty Rensou's boots, but a step away took him away from that mess once the hybrid had finished her circling and decided to finally sit still. The Saiyan arrived at the notion that she had been sizing him up, but took no major qualms with that.
". . .It got the job done," said the man as he looked the young woman up and down, she had proved herself not only a capable nurse but a talented fighter as well. Lips shifted from smirk to smile at the thought, and laughter nearly rolled up his throat. Nurse. She had saved his life, fed him and brought him life sustaining water, was the title not appropriate? She would probably be displeased with such a word.
The smell of charred flesh and blood leaped into Rensou's nostrils, and his face wrinkled at the scent as a smile turned to an expression of disgust. Perhaps she was -too- talented. No matter, Rensou turned sideways and as if it were but a casual thing began to completely obliterate that smoking mass with a flurry of ki from an arm that had suddenly become a cannon.
"Much better," he stated, for certainly she had noted that stench as well. With that task completed, he turned to face her and nodded his head. Those onyx locks bounced with each movement, and then he affirmed her notions that they worked well together. "Just don't call me inbreed, and I won't call you cur," after all, Rensou had erupted from a proud family. . .the brash, chaotic, and oft-insane former gladiator had not always been such a poor and unkempt fighter.

Vera crossed her arms and watched him expectedly, knowing that the smell of death had gotten to him. She watched smiling as he disposed of their former enemies, it was clear that he wasn’t used to the smell like she was. In the lower ring where she lived there was always the fowl odor of death and smoked remains. No one in her neighborhood had dealt with it, instead they had gotten used to it and no one cared. She confirmed to herself that Rensou wouldn’t do well if he were in her situation as far as living.
"Much better,"
”You get used to it after a few years.” She responded in a voice that you would have to strain to hear, however she held eye-contact when he finally lifted his head up to face her. His scars and attitude were proof to her that he was indeed the gladiator she heard of. Yes even a low class warrior like Vera was well aware of the arena, her father spent most of his time gambling on the matches and his favorite bet was Rensou. She only knew because Hazzar was the type of drunk to ramble on and on about his glorious victories and late night activities.
"Just don't call me inbreed, and I won't call you cur,"
Vera gave him a small smile and nodded, then looked up again with her normal blank expression. ”Looks like you’ve learned your lesson. Tell me Rensou...’ The hybrid stepped forward once again and began to circle him, she was close enough for him to smell her half-breed stench however she was enjoying the fact that he couldn’t call her one. ”Doesn’t it bother you? I saved your life with no help from you, and you saved me from an ambush...but you had my help in it.” She said smiling. ”Does it seem like you repaid your dept. to me?” Vera smirked and tried to hold herself back from laughter.

The onyx spikes atop the skull flitted sideways at the notion one could become used to the smoking body Vera had been the cause of, the stench of overcooked flesh was too much for Rensou to simply ignore. The Saiyan had slain many men, but never had he seared flesh from bone and boiled fats beneath the hides of those that fell at his hands. It was doubtful that he ever would, because an attack such as her Honoo could never fit into his straight forward style of precise force and the occasional eruption of overpowering might.
"I doubt it," he revealed, the finer hairs upon his neck bristling as she circled him again, which had begun to rile up his more animal ways. Just like any full-blood would regard it, that circling movement was identified as an act of hostility. Rensou pushed downward on the aggression rising within, this young woman was only half Saiyan, and would probably not regard her actions the predecessor of combat. She's probably just looking at me, Rensou reasoned, rather than sizing him up in an attempt to gauge any weakness in his build.
However, her words annoyed him to the point that his teeth flashed in a grimace as she insisted that he had not repayed her. Nurturing a man from debilitating exhaustion was one thing, and he doubted she had risked her life in the effort. Perhaps she had in the process of feeding him, the fauna of the forests of Vegeta often proved dangerous. However, he began to realize she was correct, she had saved him without reason and without the promise of eventual repayment. She had compassion, that was certain, had Rensou passed by another conflict in the streets of Saru, he would have let the actions play out of their own accord without his own interference. If he had not owed Vera, he would have never intervened to save her.
Rensou Hiruen owed Vera more than that. His debt was something difficult to pay, for her own actions had been selfless. The actions of Rensou had been an effort to free himself from a payment, deriving from selfish desires.
"I'd suppose not, g-," and he nearly said girl, but rethought his words, "Vera." He paced out of the range of her circling, leaning back against a wall so that she would be unable to do such a thing again. Rensou knew not how long he could bear it before he snapped.
"What would you have in mind?"

Vera stopped her circling as Rensou made himself go out of her reach, personally it made no difference to her where he stationed himself. After all, someone like Vera could always find some way to annoy him. However his question concerning his payment had caught her off guard, and a trivial shadow ran over her golden eyes. She gave only a hint of her confusion, then resolved herself to the point of clarity while she thought.
’What can I use him for, he has indeed proved himself to me as a warrior...’ She looked down at her hands and played with her nails, they were longer than she would have liked however they were still perfect and pampered despite her working customs. Then again she never did fight in hand-to-hand combat, the only thing she ever did was use her Honoo and that would be enough to overwhelm her enemies. Then there were times when she would only have to grain away into sand and then use the wind to travel before reforming herself once more.
She knew she couldn’t use those pallor tricks with Rensou, he looked used to fighting with his force and strength... A small and vague idea passed through her mind, a smirk replaced her passive expression. She knew now what she wanted from him, something that would get under his skin. ”Well then, what I ask for is simple.” Vera leaned back on the wall next to him, trying to succeed once more in ticking him off before she would have no excuse for it.
”An eye for an eye, a favor for a favor, a life for a life.” She said calmly as she began to play with a loose strand of light russet colored hair. ”I nursed you back to health and saved your life, I ask that you do the same for me.” Vera twirled the strand along the sides of her fingers for a few seconds before continuing. She had a horrible habit of focusing on one target while ignoring everything else. ”I want you to stick around as my partner until your dept. has been paid in full.” She said simply waiting for his response, it should be interesting to hear.

The half Saiyan would fail in her latest attempt to pester the last Hiruen, who folded his arms, appendages still surging with adrenaline. It had no doubt arose in battle, but her constant circling had caused it to linger on each and every time she had been behind him with her constant pacing. Rensou Hiruen was as Saiyan as Saiyan came, and his ability to sense energy was lacking. He was capable of deciphering whether an opponent was vastly stronger or weaker than he from several hundreds of yards away, but the positioning of that person was a mystery. Thus, every time the young woman was behind him his wary nature had begun to boil. She was now within sight of his peripheral vision, and no longer a potential threat. Vera seemed friendly and sincere enough, but on Vegeta a dear friend could put a knife in your back at any moment.
Rensou pondered her suggestions for just a moment, and nodded, he just hoped she was not expecting him to be there at every moment, her every waking hour. Surely, she was not, at least he hoped. "No more circling," the Champion level gladiator informed, and if she could abide to that until he atleast invested some trust in her, the deal was sealed.

Vera continued to play consistently with her hair, and then again look longingly at her skin. She cleared her mind momentarily to notice that her presence no longer had any effect on her new friend. Oh well, if she really wanted to, she would be able to disappear then reappear again right in front of him. Right now she was tempted to step on his foot or do anything to annoy him. She found comfort in knowing she was one step ahead, yet the only thing she couldn’t stand was silence.
After he nodded she simply nodded back as a courtesy, then she went on thinking about her business. ”I’ll be going now. I hope you won’t have to owe me more than you already do now.” Vera got off the wall and walked casually out of the cramped alley way, her light brown hair became even lighter when the sun light hit it. Eventually she joined the crowed mesh of men and women, making her way around the city as if nothing happened.
