The sand from the plains cut through the air like millions of blades and got everywhere despite Kazama desperate attempts to keep it from getting within his clothing. Kazama had been walking for days on end now ever since he had crashed in the desolate wasteland. He could have flown to get where he wanted to go but instead chose to walk. He needed time to sort out what had happened back in the Lunar system with the Mezos and Peso.
“Why in the end after seeing what they did to me did he side against me? We were friends and he was my most trusted teacher. Did he fear me like Zados had or was he being black mailed into working for him?” Kazama mumbled to himself as he continued on his walk. As he spoke however the sand from the plains had found its way into his mouth. Kazama began to spit wildly trying to get the sand out of his mouth. He even at one point pulled his tongue out and began to wipe it with one of his hands.
“Fucking sand! I couldn’t have picked a city to land near. Peso I told you to get a new ship.” Kazama grumbled.
That was when Kazama noticed the residual energy that still hung in the air. Kazama turned in a full three hundred and sixty degrees but was unable to pin point where the energy had come from. However the remnants of several battles still hung in the air. What made the energy signature so distinctive though was that one of the energies was darker than he had ever felt before and was far beyond his own strength.
“What do you know…Planet Vegeta has some surprises after all. But I still wonder what a Saiyan is,” Kazama stated as he continued to walk through the settling mini sand storm.
Even though he had been walking for days he still wasn’t sure how far he was from any civilization just based on the landscape of the planet he had seen thus far. Kazama also was not able to sense any energy up until the residual it might have been because of the fact the entire population was on the other side of the planet or that the Saiyans were not powerful enough to be sensed by someone. Either way Kazama wanted more than ever now the ability to talk to someone.
“A simple conversation. That too much to ask for?!” Kazama yelled into the wasteland.
Kazama felt under his feet a rumbling that had not been there before his comment. However it was only for a split second and then it disappeared. Kazama knelt down and placed his hand to the ground hoping to feel the tremor again to but to his disappointment it had disappeared. He stood back up and continued to walk for countless more miles. Eventually the blistering sun began to set and soon the plain turned into a frozen sandy wasteland.
Kazama crossed over a small hit and to his surprise found an even more desolate spot than usual. Something about it was causing Kazama to be uneasy but he could not pin point what it was. That was when he felt another tremor this time it went right under his feet and then behind him. Kazama spun on his heels to see what he would describe as a giant worm shoot up out of the ground. It had four bug like legs emerging by it head. Its head was shaped like some of the more carnivorous fish that he had known in the Lunar system. Kazama could not sense any power from the creature though which set him off. Either it was incredibly powerful and could hide its energy or it was incredibly weak and didn’t have enough power for Kazama to sense.
“Are you a Saiyan?” Kazama asked hoping for an intelligent response but to his dismay the creature simply replied in a roar. “So much for conversation,” Kazama stated with disappointment.
Just then several more of the worms shot out of the ground all roaring identically to the one that originally emerged. Kazama stood still and he evaluated the situation he was in when he felt a presence suddenly appear behind him. He lunged forward however he heard the rip of clothing. Kazama ducked and rolled before popping back up to his feet. He glanced over his shoulder to see that one of the worms had managed to swipe his shirt and ripped it to the point of no return.
“I am sorry I could not protect your shirt Peso,” Kazama said with sadness in his voice.
At that comment Kazama charged up some of his power and then launched into the air. Even though the worms were huge Kazama flew high above the worms. He stopped and levitated in the air as he charged up ki in his hands. With a smile he unleashed his Renzoku Energy Dan and covered the area of worms in bright light as the balls of ki exploded. After about forty five seconds of blasts Kazama ceased his firing and assumed that the worms were adequately destroyed. The dust settled and only parts of the worms were left.
“I really hope those aren’t Saiyans. If they are I am going to blast a hole in the side of my head,” Kazama sighed.
With that he flew off in the direction he had been walking. Soon the night sky was decorated by and Kazama a shooting star across the sky. As he flew however he noticed a space pod crashed in the middle of the plains. Kazama landed right next to it and began to investigate. From what he could tell the pod was in no shape to fly but from what he could tell it had been lived in over the last several days at least but almost definitely much longer. Kazama peeled open the door to the pod and found that there were various personal effects scattered throughout. He sat down as he tried to determine if there was any hope in it at all when suddenly a voice echoed in the pod.
“It is over 9000! It is over 9000! It is over 9000!” A voice repeated.
Kazama jumped at the sound knocking the clock over with a bang. Once he composed himself he picked it up and examined it. From what he could tell it was a clock that was modeled after a man in armor with dark spiky hair. It appeared to no longer be working and Kazama dropped it with another clattering sound. That was when he noticed some old food stashed away. Kazama grabbed it and popped it into his mouth. It tasted nasty but it was more than he had eaten in a number of days. He got up and stood outside of the pod.
“Where did the occupant go?” Kazama asked in a defeated tone.
“South by southwest.” A computerized voice responded.
Kazama turned to look back at the pod. He smiled.
“Thank you,” Kazama replied before taking off in the direction the computer stated.
