Space… truly the final frontier… Nam had been awake during most of the trip, he couldn’t bear to close his eyes knowing he was in the vacuum of space with nothing but a little space pod keeping him alive. It was both eternally frightening and infinitely intriguing. Most of what he had seen was nothing but utter darkness, and a single malfunction could cause him his life. He gazed down –or rather, his perception of what ‘down’ is in a place where direction was lost. He glanced up, and it was all the same. Nothing but small dots of light as far as the eye could see. Other than the monitor on his space pod, he didn’t have any real assurance that he was actually arriving anywhere at all. The possibility of getting lost in this void and never seeing earth was a very real outcome to him and the thought was ghastly. The only other place he could compare this to was the Hyperbolic Time Chamber back in Kami’s Lookout. He never went very deep, fearing he might get lost forever.
He leaned forward to take a closer look and rest a hand over the glass. It was cold and his breath dampened it as his eyes wandered amazed. Under all this fear, speculation, and mind throbbing thoughts, he had witnessed some incredible and beautiful constellations and phenonmenons he would have never seen anywhere else. Asteroids, nebulas, what seemed like earth’s blue sky, rimmed by golden red clouds; giving it a heavenly aspect. Colorful lights bursting at the seams with shades of purple, blue, red –even yellow. Stars everywhere, a colorful and inexplicable spiral… But regardless of all the beautiful and outstanding scenery he had witnessed, no matter the combination of colors and clusters the mind could think of –for some reason, none of them beat the captivating panorama of Planet Earth, shrinking behind him as he drifted away.
The round, blue planet was beautiful. It was so mystical and interesting and rare and odd… It was odd to view his home from such a perspective he had never imagined. Nam had been to space before –the Intergalactic Tournament-, but never had he experienced it at such depth. Never had he seen an entire planet before his eyes. He almost wanted to exit the space pod and observe it without frames and indulge the picturesque glorious image. He had realized how small he truly was compared to the universe. For the first time, he felt like he had woken up from a deep and long slumber. He felt, without a doubt, that a god must have created all of this –otherwise, where did it come from?
A faint sound of static could be heard uprising within the silence of his confined and limited space. He moaned as he came to.
“Serori…”
Nam’s eyes slowly opened. “Huh?”
Static accompanied the familiar voice he had heard on the radio. It seemed that during his slumber, his hand had accidentally fallen over and turned it back on. It was a dangerous realization for the emergency exit was just above it, protected by glass. Nam’s retracted his hand immediately and cringed. He could have suffocated.
“I am sending you this video because the time of my judgment has come…” Nam let out a small gasp, realizing whose voice this belonged to. He hadn’t heard of him for five years since their encounter –neither had he heard of Serori- so it was surprising to suddenly hear their names.
“At the end of our treaty I did expect retaliation; and thus, sent you off planet to do some meaningless task. However, if you are getting this message it means that I will soon be dead…” his eyes dilated. “What?” he said. “What’s happening?”
“I have had this pre-recording for some time, and so the details of my death are unknown however following this video there will be a full report sent in from my own dossier, with specific instructions. Please follow them directly, if only as a final will to myself. Firstly I would like to thank you...”
As this was only audio, Nam could not see or know the state in which Touketsuki Yakedo was broadcasting this, but he could imagine it vividly with the tone, the shaken voice, and the way he spoke. Although, picturing him the way he was, it wasn’t like Touketsuki at all.
“...Thank you for reminding me that I am not some heartless monster....Serori nobody, not even myself believed that I was anything but a tyrant bent on the pain and destruction of others. But you proved them all wrong Ser...you proved me wrong. But my time has come, I have done terrible things to many people, and my time to pay for those things is here, and I accept it with open arms. Here are my instructions for you, as the new leader of the World Trade Organization.”
Again, it was confusing. Nam remembered a vivid conversation five years ago with the tyrant. He was buying time for the others to gather the remaining dragon balls and find Captain Royd Eris. The galactic lizard had clearly stated how he was the one to murder his entire family –and he said it with such a pride and cold, chauvinistic demeanor.
So why? He thought. Why now? Why did Touketsuki show remorse now when he had done so many terrible things, knowingly. It was surprising enough to witness him leaving when Serori expressed her feelings to him, but this was just…
“Secondly,” he continued. Nam’s undivided attention was focused on the transmission. “And I cannot stress this enough.” He said. “Stay away from Earth, and the Government Special Forces.”
“Geurin is a lying snake. He is deceitful, and if his legend is anything at all like it sounds, then he will only bring you chaos and instability. No matter what he says, no matter what he does. Do not allow him near you unless you plan to kill him. Lets face it, Nam was right to try and kill me...and Nam is certainly not in favor of him...Let Earth resolve their own issue's it is none of our business and we should be focused on the saiyans.”
Nam was surprised to hear his name mentioned. How did he know about him? Nam hadn’t heard from Touketsuki Yakedo until just now, but from the sound of it, he was relatively up-to-date and informed about his endeavors and earth’s internal political struggles. After that, silence. For a moment he thought the transmission had ended, but it didn’t sound like an ending. There was only static. Air was silently and slowly exhaled from his lungs as he stared at the radio.
“I am sorry Serori…” Nam’s attention was renewed to find out that it was still going. “You deserve so much better than me. You are faithful, supportive, and loving. I have not earned such an incredible gift, and I have proven that far too many times to count...”
"It was my job to repay my awful debt. To make sure that tyrants like Geurin, or confused Napoleans like Boliko did not wreak havoc on the universe. I dug my own grave, and it was my responsibility to build my way back up. And finally I will have a clean slate...So my final words to you are this...”
“Don’t avenge me.”
“If you seek revenge, it will only continue this cycle of death, and hatred. Your job now is to be there for our people. I wouldn’t ever ask you to do that on your own...if I wasnt so sure it’s what you would want to do...Farewell my love...be strong…”
Nam was silent. It almost seemed like this wasn’t Touketsuki at all. He was still having a hard time believing it. Just what could have happened? The transmission ended just like that and left behind nothing but static. He turned the radio back off and stared into blank space, trying to make sense of things. “Don’t avenge me?” he repeated. Did someone attack him? It wasn’t really a surprise, knowing everything he had done of Earth. But it had been so long since those events unfold. If it were for Nam, everything was forgiven. There never were many casualties; the man had stopped before the scar had gone too deep and retreated. Ever since, he had never returned. From that last encounter, he had a glimpse of a different and hidden nature. Like, perhaps, he wasn’t all he appeared to be. If anyone could turn him around, it was Serori –and from the sound of it, she did. Regardless, he’s dead.
He couldn’t understand why, but hearing the broadcast; discovering his death after so long, the saiyan actually felt sad. He actually felt –no matter how illogical and ridiculous it seemed- he felt like he had lost an old friend… He covered his mouth with a hand and stared pensively into space. He had been so focused on the broadcast that he hadn’t noticed a giant and red planet in front of his window. He glanced at the monitor.
“Destination: Vegeta. Approx. Landing: 30 minutes.”
The space pod shook as it began to enter the atmosphere. The planet seemed beautiful from this perspective. His favorite color was red, so that was a plus, but it still didn’t beat Planet Earth. His second home, he thought. This was where his father came from; the source of his saiyan heritage, and perhaps, the only remaining relative. If they saw each other, assuming the man was still alive, would they recognize each other? Would he care? All this thoughts began to run into his mind as the cold temperature was swayed away by the flamed that surrounded the falling space pod.
Those were Geurin’s last words before he had taken off, and the reason why he had told Maruca and Toshiro to change course for Amazonica. He wondered if they had arrived yet. It probably wouldn’t be long before they found out Nam wasn’t coming at all. And if what Geurin said had any truth, they might not even see him ever again…
Nam gasped; dilated eyes gazing through the window. He’d be leaning over it if he weren’t pinned against his seat by the rapidly descending space pod. Below was a city. Destroyed buildings and fire everywhere. The populace was so scarce that he could sense their individual energy signatures without getting a headache. And the few he did sense were struggling amongst themselves and fighting in such chaos. Many power levels suddenly vanished in one fell swoop. It was dreadfully terrifying.
The words kept ringing through his head. What’s going on? Everywhere he looked there was chaos. At home, he was chased off his own planet. Touketsuki Yakedo is dead… and now this… was the entire universe struggling so? Or was trouble fated to follow the saiyan wherever he went? This is terrible, he thought. Where was the Solar Saiyan Empire? Why weren’t they protecting their civilians? Who was causing this madness?
It was then, in that very moment, the instance he asked himself that question he felt the all too familiar energy of such a dreadful being who had cursed the land with his presence. It was truly the only person he could think of who was capable of this, and it was the same person who warned him not to come. Who tried to scare him away. The thought sunk in and everything started to stick together. Nam’s eyes furrowed and his teeth clenched as he uttered the name of the man.
“Geurin!”
*BOOM*
The space pod crash landed and engraved a new crater onto the already barren land of what Nam would learn to call Vegeta. Smoke lifted, debris and dust rolled from the seams and faded.
He leaned forward to take a closer look and rest a hand over the glass. It was cold and his breath dampened it as his eyes wandered amazed. “Why…”
The saiyan glanced back at the white lizard as they flew rapidly over the barren lands of what once used to be Central City. “Why do you do the things you do? What are your reasons?”
"Hm, Earthling you might be surprised to know that you are the only person to ever ask me that question, so listen closely I dont like repeating myself." He replied. "I was the youngest in a family of five, and I grew up in a household of love and happiness. I was given everything I ever asked, had loving parents and good friends. I had no enemies, and I was taught manners and respect from a young age. My father taught me to fight as means to defend myself, and my brothers playfully taught me how to use our mental talents.”
"So why do I go after planets, extort money and power, and then leave them for dead...well."
Nam stared anxiously as he awaited the answer.
“Because I can…”

Or perhaps Kanassa, you know Yakedo owns that one. The point is, you should choose wisely your destination...Thats really all I have to say"
