Were you banned?

There have been some questions regarding banning lately. As to why you were banned, or why others were. If the reason was not openly addressed and you have some questions, here may be a few reasons why:

C-Box Bans:

• Spamming: Perhaps the most common of all. Spamming can include repeatedly posting over and over and over when the situation you are responding to/creating does not call for it. Or when you are actively trying to be annoying. Bans for this usually last a week at most, though they may and will go longer, or permanent if you persist.
  
• Posting Vile, Rude Things: There are times when people say things that may come across as such, but are not and those are usually easy to spot. On the other hand those, there are times when extreme cursing, vile remarks, or other such instances are meant to be read as such. The c-box is public to EVERYONE, both current and prospective members. These instances that warrant a ban usually have a span of one week, but more time and possibly a permanent solution may come into play if these offenses are continued.
  
• Arguing: Arguing with other members and/or staff is not acceptable. We will ask you to move to PM and if you do not, you will be banned. Like the others, this usually warrants up to a week of ban.
  

Forum Bans:

• Spamming: Once again, the most common offense. This can go from spamming threads, spamming in other threads, or any other such thing.
  
• Disrespect: Sadly, this seems to pop up a lot. This goes from disrespecting admins, other members, and the forum as a whole.
  
• Not Following the Rules: The rules are clearly outlined in this very board and it's not easy to "accidentally" break them over and over. If you are banned for this reason, I suggest taking a careful look over the rules.
  
  • Most of these bans last up to a week to start, but can easily get extended depending on the type of offense and the repetition.
    
  
  

There are more than just these ways to be banned, but these are definitely the most common. Also, you aren't banned just because one admin may not like you. All of the admins take a vote. We also will not ban for no reason. We all keep a detailed list of offenses when it comes to certain repeat offenders.

If you do not understand why you were banned after taking a look at this list, please either wait out your ban, or PM one of the admins if you are only banned for the c-box. There is always a reason for bans, and we will always explain as best we can why you were banned if you take the time and calmly and politely ask us.
