There was one thing that Yuumaru had learned very carefully on his trip to planet Kold, it was that there just wasn’t enough. He’d gone in without any real direction of what he was to do and the forces there had exceeded his might, he couldn’t let that happen again. There was no anger or resentment towards that, it was simply a fact that if the ones that fought him came with their full strength, he likely wouldn’t have survived. The other fact was that he was the one that had been protected by the others, which ignored any sort of logic to any part of it given that he was the soldier. The others were ones that he was meant to protect if it had to cost him his life, but that didn’t seem to matter to any of them.
It just was something that needed to be fixed before it continued to be a problem, he had an idea of how to do that as well. Walking up to the computer of the ship’s training area he programmed the computer for something a bit more intense than what he had previously done before. Setting the gravity to be fifty units so that he could feel a bit of a pull from it, his new clothes had been fitted so that they were heavily weighted and he could feel the effects against his muscles already. His power was also restricted by them which push him to an even lower state than he had been before, but perhaps that was better. The gravity pushed him harder with his power reduced, but he managed to make his way to the simulator to create an environment that could push him to his limits.
It wasn’t a normal creation that he’d utilized for the training, but one that was purely from his imagination. Creating his opponent, the simulator worked to bring it to life though it would be hard to tell when it was done, but that was the point for this experiment. There were a few moments of silence as he tried to figure if he did something wrong, until he heard a distorted growl from the area around him. His creation had come to life and he was now in a battle that would help him to become more adaptable, and would give him the opportunity to create some new techniques. Shifting his stance, he moved his eyes slowly around the room in an attempt to catch an sort of hint of where his prey might be hiding. With the ability he gave it to cloak itself, it would be much more difficult and would cause Yuumaru to hone his senses so that he could detect the creature. It was lurking about trying to come at him from a vulnerable angle something that any predator would do, especially to instill fear into its prey.
They were seeing each other in reverse roles something that hadn’t happened to Yuumaru in a while, a slight reflection of that time. When he had been tossed into that forsaken jungle on Vegeta left to fend for himself against the creatures and plants that dwelled within. As if in response to those memories his vision shifted to that of what the jungle appeared, the most fitting scenery for this situation really. It lasted for only a minute before things went back to the ship he was standing on and the Saiyan took a deep breath calming himself. Two test things out he lifted his hand and fired off a couple round of Ki in random directions in an attempt to find the creature. His shots soared through the air and pelted the walls where he shot, a light sigh escaped his lips, shifting his feet lightly. Focusing his attention to his listening for any sounds that might give the creature away, but that might not work well either given the other ability he gave it. Still, it was worth a shot and besides, it would give him the time needed to prepare his thoughts around the technique he was working on.
That was until the thing finally attacked and its claws raked across Yuumaru’s chest, as a warmth suddenly warmed his body. The creature having cut even through the weighted cloth with ease to gouge out thin lines in his skin, and let out a throaty laugh as its response. Cringing at the pain the blue-haired warrior ignored the pain, pushing it from his mind building a wall around it, as he had done his emotions for years. He couldn’t be distracted or slowed down by a simple wound, with it reduced to nothing more than a dull, throbbing sensation he resumed his course. He didn’t remember programming this thing to have any kind of intelligence to laugh though, but it seemed the simulator added that into the equation itself. There was something that he learned from that attack as well, that he could get a brief sense of the attack before it occurred, which meant that if he could focus more he’d be able to react better.
Closing his eyes he shut off the unimportant thoughts one by one, a similar process to what he used for activating his technique, and waited for the slightest stirring around him. Slowing his heartbeat and controlling his breathing would help reduce the noise around him as well, allowing him to concentrate on outside sources more. It was probably a bad strategy to turn himself into a sitting duck and attempt to counterattack, but it was all he could do right now. His ear twitched for a moment as what seemed like the sound of claws scraping against the floor reached him, alerting him to the general direction the creature might be in. His hand lifted and fired off a Ki blast his eyes opening enough to watch the attack as it raced towards the left side of the room, about twenty feet away. It was the location of the noise that he had heard so it was a good place to send a blast of energy, but he was surprised to see the ki suddenly disappear into thin air. That wasn’t something that normally happened, just what was going on with this creature that had been created?
His Ki attacks were useless which meant that he had to try and attack this thing physically, or find a way to overwhelm it and keep it from doing whatever it had done. Drawing a deep breath in slowly, he resumed the previous state he had attained keeping everything silent to such a degree that the room would seem empty if not for the fact that he was visible. There was a nagging thought in the back of his mind that this thing was familiar, but he couldn’t think of why it might be, as far as he could tell he’d never encountered this thing before now. There wasn’t a lot of time to think about it either as that sensation of being attacked came to the forefront of his perceptions, turning his body and striking out at the creature.
That attempt proved to be a practice in futility as the creatures strength surpassed his own and caught his fist without so much as batting an eye before it slashed at him once more. Throwing him clear across the chamber of the ship without so much as a grunt of effort from it, it was not a normal creature. His instincts continued to warn him about it as if they knew just what this thing was, but he was pretty sure he’d not faced anything like this before. Taking to the air on pure instinct though his response was sluggish thanks to the weighted clothes and his leg was now adorned with new wounds, as scarlet rivers trailed down his shin. These things had been hampering his movements for a while, something that he hadn’t been paying complete attention to until this moment. Maybe that was why his movements were so easily predictable as well, he was trying to fight at his full power without compensating for the massive increase in weight. There was a snort from his own nostrils as he realized that, he’d been making such obvious mistakes because he’d been too caught up with whatever simulation he was fighting.
As much as he hated to admit it his ability to control his emotions would need to be a lot better if he wanted to prevent that kind of distraction again. This elicited a snarl of frustration from him as he also realized his mistake with fighting against this creature as well. He’d taken his own strength for granted and assumed he would be able to handle the weight along with the gravity easily and the creature was set to a higher standard as such. His hand rubbed at the bridge of his nose before he managed to calm his mind once more, this time invoking the power he had dwelling within him. Allowing his mind to become an imitation of the still water on a lake’s surface, reflecting everything that it could see. Then he unlocked the seal on his body’s power and felt a rush of energy flow through his body, making him much stronger than he had been a minute ago.
His mind became much clearer allowing his senses to operate at their full capacity now, rather than being hampered from by his own arrogance. His tail twitched as his instincts flared into full operation at the sounds and smells around him, his emotions being pushed further away. Bringing his hands up to sit in front of his body one in an offensive position, the other a defensive one as he readied his body to attack. It didn’t take long for the creature to respond either as it lunged at him, the hairs on the back of his neck indicating where it was coming from this time. He turned his entire body with one swift motion, managing to throw off the creature’s aim which was for his spine, and redirected it to his shoulder, a large gash forming nearly down to the bone. His fist striking out as his hand redirected its own attack, and met the creature’s gruesome hand though a small smirk played on his features as a sudden shockwave of energy blasted into its body sending it careening away. The blast managed to cause whatever made it invisible to falter for a moment, and he looked over the form for a moment, before his head began pounding as if repeatedly hit with a mallet.
Something was familiar about this thing, but he couldn’t recognize where he might have seen it from, stopping for a moment. His breathing a bit heavier, as his left shoulder felt heavier from the combination of the wound and the bleeding. The wound on his chest hadn’t slowed down yet either, the pain from that was still blocked out thankfully, but the new ones left throbbing pain surging through him. Maybe not as bad as it seemed, sure he was bleeding a bit more, but the surge might help him stay focused on the task at hand as well.
The bad part though was all the blood loss would catch up to him if he didn’t do something quickly to end this battle. The chest was the worst of the wounds covering a larder area than the other two had done, flying to the highest point of the ceiling he concentrated his energy into a sphere. As he poured more energy into it he started to condense the form into a tighter container, watching as it stirred violently within the confines of its shell. When the energy finally settled he grabbed the sphere, searching around for the creature that had been stalking him this whole time. It would have been better off staying on the ground, as it was, the thing had crawled up the side of the ship and the sound of claws on metal was easily detectable.
Throwing himself to the floor before it could attack, he shifted his arms around towards the sound of impact as his would-be hunter followed. Unfortunately for the creature, this time was going to be a little different from the last attack he made like this, as he held the sphere in his hand with the power surging to be freed. When it was unleashed it created a massive beam of energy, twelve feet in diameter as it hurtled towards the abomination at a terrific speed. When it connected there was a ear-splitting screech from where the creature had landed, forcing the blue-haired Saiyan to cover his ears from the pain.
The blast had reduced its body to a smoldering corpse with parts completely missing from its body, he had managed to beat the creature. He was standing in his moment of triumph when the scenery shifted to that of a cave for a moment, with him still standing over the dead body. His clothes were nothing more than a loin cloth and there was a pool of blood in the corner of his right eye. As he turned to look, the image disappeared, a figment of his mind and left him standing in the ship once more weighted clothing and all. The only thing he could do was blink in confusion as to what had just occurred, but he would probably just chalk it up to tiredness. He’d not really gotten a steady amount of sleep recently, so it was bound to cause some kind of issues when he was awake.
Shaking his head he looked at his right hand and flexed his fingers a few times, wondering when exactly it had become numb. It was an aftereffect of the attack he just used, that caused the exposure to that much power to render his hand without any feeling from them. While he was distracted his opponent had not been completely taken care of, it was just playing possum with him, despite the damage it had taken. The result was that now there was a horn from its head sticking into the right side of his chest and for a moment, something flickered behind those green eyes. A strange sensation filled his body, as he was suddenly compressing both fists onto the creatures head and firing off two void rippers simultaneously.
With a sickening crunch from not only monster’s skull, but Yuumaru’s arms as well, it seemed that the battle was over now. His arms hanging uselessly from his body, there was no way that he could manually change anything, so he made the voice commands. The chamber shutdown before that blasted simulation could get up again, and possibly make sure that it was the Lieutenant-General that fell this time. His breathing came in short spurts as one of his lungs had been punctured, he needed to get to the healing pods and quickly. Collapsing into the chamber, he just barely made it in time and Ayleen took over the activation of the pod, while Yuumaru’s body started to shutdown unnecessary functions…like consciousness.
