Journey to Kalavar 3 (Drexx)

[Orenji]

Orenji was standing in the center of the crystal room, freaking out at what he had just heard and saw. He felt a hand touch his shoulder, turning around he saw Drexx to him.

“It’s okay Orenji. It going to be okay. We’re going to kill Annihilus. The door is open. We can finish this once and for all.”

Orenji looked over to see that what Drexx was saying was true, the door had opened; this was the beginning to the end for Annihilus. Quickly Orenji and Drexx began running up the stairs, at the top was a single warrior. Drexx was quick enough to run his Khopesh through the creature’s chest. Not even a second later a roar went out through the palace, some of the wave was upon them. These creatures were no match for the duo, easily dispatching them they made their way to the throne room.
”ANNIHILUS!”

Orenji looked at the leader of the wave, the one they call Annihilus. He stood at least 6’8 he was smaller than every Kalavarian that Orenji has come across. Annihilus had to be stopped, for all the killing, the destruction, and ruining the lives of the Kalavarians. Annihilus greeted the duo, but his words meant nothing to Orenji. He wanted to get this over with and find Migan as fast as he could.

“Annihilus is terribly sorry but this will be the end of your little rebellion however. You two fought bravely against the wave, and put up more fight than Annihilus gave you initial credit for. For that you will die quick. That is my gift to you.”

”Your time is done Annihilus! Where is Migan! Release her!’”

He raised his hand and a blast rocketed from it, orange in color and sparking with power, it caught Drexx in the chest and threw him through the large double doors of the palace entrance. Orenji watched his friend get shot back, he quickly turned his attention back to Annihilus charging at him. Orenji tried to smash his left fist into the side of Annihilus’s head, but was to slow. Annihilus backhanded Orenji out of the air. He was sent flying through the air, crashing with great force into the stone wall.

”Damn you Annihilus!”

Orenji watched as Drexx joined back into the fight, he shot eye beams at Annihilus, but they were easily backhanded out of the way. Ahhinilus proceeded to charge at Drexx, while Drexx was charging at Annihilus. The two collided in the middle exchanging blows, the two were beating the hell out of each other. That was until Annihilus waved his hand, and Drexx fell into a hole that had appeared out of nowhere.

“You cannot hope to stand against the Annihilus’ wave. Annihilus can control the very matter around you. You will die.”

”You keep saying that Annihilus, but it isn’t going to come true.”

Annihilus just laughed as he waved his hand, motioning for something.

”So you must be Orenji, the warrior this girl has not stopped talking about. Annihilus is disappointed at how easily Annihilus smacked you out of the way.”

Seconds later two of Annihilus’s warrior brought out two humans. Orenji quickly recognized them as Migan and Maku. Anger began to course through Orenji as he looked at Migan, and what Annihilus had done to her. She was beaten and bloodied, she looked up and he could see she had a black eye. They had the two of them chained up, the father didn’t look like he got touched, he looked perfectly fine. Migan on the other hand, looked like she was about to die, Orenji couldn’t let that happen.

”Annihilus you are going to pay for what you have done to her! I will personally see to it that you never bother the Kalavarian people again. We are going to kill you, to protect these people.”

Orenji began to double in size and mass, he was now taller than Annihilus. He quickly charged at Annihilus spearing him into the stone wall opposite of them. Orenji took a step back, then quickly began whaling on Annihilus. Punch after Punch getting through, but they didn’t seem to be doing much of anything. Until Orenji brought his left hand back and clocked Annihilus right in the left side of his face. Annihilus spit some blood, but just laughed as the necklace began to charge. A orange blast shot out smashing into Orenji’s chest.

Orenji was once again sent flying through the air, slamming into the wall. Annihilus stood up and waved his hand at Orenji, Quickly stone began to envelope around Orenji. Within seconds he was trapped inside a stone prison. The last thing he heard was Migan calling out for him.

“ORENJI!!!” Migan screamed

Annihilus was like unto a god. He could change the very matter around them with a wave of his hand. He didn’t seem to be able to change organic matter however, and Drexx was thankful for that. Orenji would be safe. But would the android? Drexx dug his way out of the pit Annihilus had put him into, reaching the top just in time to see Migan and Maku being dragged out before them.

Migan looked terrible. A bleeding wound jagged its way across her forehead above her left eye. Her nose was clearly broken, and two black eyes stared out across the battlefield towards Orenji. Drexx recognized that look, but said nothing. The father on the other hand appeared to be unharmed, though he could see by his tired expression and the lines on his face that he had been under severe stress. Drexx rose into the air and flew at Annihilus, just as the monster buried Orenji in a tomb. Unlike himself, Drexx knew Orenji had to breathe. How long would the air last in there?

“Welcome back.” Annihilus said, catching the android mid-flight and spinning him around, shifting his momentum and sending him head first into the wall. The android crashed through it and lay staring up at the ceiling. His hands gripped the floor as he forced himself to stand up.

“You are prolonging the inevitable. Annihilus offered you a quick death.” His voice was right behind the android, who spun around in the same motion releasing his khopesh from its place in his arm and swinging it at Annihilus. He caught it and bent the blade, sending shocks of pain through the androids body. Drexx cried out, and Annihilus booted him in the chest away from him. Drexx tried to bend the khopesh back but found he could not. He activated berserker drive and bent the metal back in place.

“Ah, your true power. This should be more entertaining.” Drexx stood up and Annihilus smiled. The monster waved his hand and the wall of the castle gave way. The building shook a little but with another wave it stabilized.

“Look upon the ruin of this world. When Annihilus is done here, the wave will march on. The wave will move onto your home worlds. It will annihilate everything you love.”

Drexx roared and rushed at him. The two exchanging wicked blows again, Drexx’s doing more damage this time then it had before. Drexx caught one of Annihilus’ fists, and the monster’s eyes grew wide. Drexx kicked him in the ribs multiple times, then began to charge ki into his right hand. Still grasping Annihilus’ fist Drexx hit the fiend under the jaw with a wicked Shoryuken, sending him back-flipping through the air. Annihilus chuckled as he spat out blood.

“Annihilus underestimated you. That won’t happen again.” He raised his hand and made a fist, but found some resistance. He was crushing the inorganic matter within Drexx’s body. Drexx cried out in pain, looking around for Orenji.

“Annihilus realized you were an android when a sword came from your arm. You shouldn’t have shown Annihilus that.”

Drexx was in more pain than he had ever imagined possible, he was resisting, but for how long could he hold out against the very metal of his own body.

Orenji was lying against the wall, pain coursed through his entire body. Twice in a row he was thrown through the air, smashing into the wall with great force. He slowly got to his feet, and walked over to the stone prison he was incased in. He had to get out of here fast; otherwise he was going to run out of air. He had no idea how thick Annihilus had made the walls.

“Orenji you failed to protect me, you let me get caught and beaten. How could you do this to me, how could you.” Migan said

Her voice was emanating all throughout the tomb, Orenji looked around but saw no sight of her. He had no idea how he could hear her voice when she wasn’t around. He began slamming his giant fists into the wall, but it was doing nothing. The stone was too tough; he wasn’t strong enough to get through. Orenji paced around the stone prison, he had no idea how long Drexx could hold his own against Annihilus.

“You can’t save me, you can’t save the kalavarians people. Orenji you have failed all of us.” Her voice said

”That isn’t true! There is still time to save all of you; I am going to protect everyone here. Annihilus is going to be stopped! Migan! I am coming don’t worry, Drexx and I are going to get you off of this planet, along with Kiiro. We are going to get you home.”

Orenji walked to the center of the prison, turned around and extending his left arm out. Pointing his index finger at the wall, orange ki began to build up. Seconds later a Dodonpa Ray was shot from the Orenji’s finger and smashed clear through the stone. He was upset with himself for not doing this right away. Orenji ran through the dust and debris to see Annihilus grabbing on to Drexx, crushing him.

”DREXX!”

Orenji screamed out as he charged at Ahhihilus, who was lying on the ground. Once Orenji was close enough he brought his left leg back and brought it forward. Smashing his foot with the side of Annihilus’s head. Annihilus was sent across the ground smashing into the wall. Orenji didn’t give him any time to rest; he was quickly on top of him beating the hell out of him. Eventually one of his fists was caught by Annihilus. Annihilus brought his other fist up and hit Orenji in the ribs a few times before blasting him in the chest. Sending Orenji sliding across the battle field, he was however quick to recover.

”You are going to fail, you can’t stop Annihilus. Annihilus will live forever.”

”I don’t think so Annihilus, you have caused too much pain and destruction to allow us to let you live. You are a threat to every planet in the universe; your reign ends here, IT ENDS NOW!”

Orenji launched another Dodonpa Ray, aimed directly at Annihilus’s chest. The ray slammed into Annihilus exploding on contact. A cloud of sand whipped up from the explosion, and even though Orenji lost sight of Annihilus he could still sense his power. Orenji ran into the cloud and quickly found Annihilus, grabbing him. With all his strength Orenji threw Annihilus out of the cloud. Annihilus skipped across the ground slamming once again into a wall.

Spitting some blood ”Annihilus is impressed; maybe that girl was right about you after all. Well Annihilus is going to start taking you seriously from now on.”

Standing up the necklace around Annihilus’s neck began to charge. Orenji knew what was coming next, he had a small window of opportunity before a blast was sent right for him. Orenji only made it half way to Annihilus when the beam was launched. This time it was different the beam was smaller than the previous ones, and traveled with great speed. Orenji had to time to get out of the way, the beam went straight through Orenji’s right shoulder.

“ORENJI! Please stop this you are going to die.” Migan screamed

Orenji looked over at his wound, blood began to seep out and run down his arm and side. Even more pain began to course through his body, who knows how much more her could take. He looked over at Migan; dried blood covered her face from the many wounds. Now he could see a tear running down her face, everything she was seeing was too much for her, Orenji knew this. But he couldn’t stop, he had made promises to people here, Annihilus had to be stopped.

Drexx clutched at his chest, the pain he was in was immense. Annihilus had literally begun to crush him from the inside out, and the android was finding it hard to believe he was still alive. Orenji had saved him, but was it only for the time being? Annihilus was unlike any enemy they faced before, able to bend the very matter around them. How could they fight something like that?

Drexx didn’t see much of Orenji and Annihilus’ bout, he was still clutching his chest and his nerve endings were all still on fire. What would stop Annihilus from doing that again should Orenji not kill him? Drexx swallowed hard, he supposed that didn’t matter. What mattered was stopping him. Once and for all.

“Annihilus is done messing around. Bring forth the wave!” with a great whirring and gnashing sound the wave appeared down in the city streets. The dynamic duo no longer had to only worry about Annihilus, now they had the wave to contend with as well, something that strong backed by those numbers. It was easy to see how Kalavar fell.

From Orenji Drexx heard a scream and looked up to see his friend clutching his arm, a hole clear through it, blood pouring down his arm. Drexx gingerly stood up, careful not to shift anything inside him too much, he had no clue what damage may have been done. Annihilus stood smirking at them, quite content to let the wave finish his business for him.

“I think this may be it for us buddy.” Drexx whispered, walking over to stand next to the Namekian. “You ready to go out in a blaze of glory?” Drexx raised his hands and summoned his energy in the form of his wrecking ball technique. It expanded and he threw it at the front line of the wave. It killed dozens but more came still. Down every alley and over toppled buildings they poured like the wave they were.

Drexx was resigned to go out fighting. If he could not protect them, he would at the very least try to avenge them. He looked over at Orenji. Then he charged. Halfway down the steps he heard a loud noise, coming off from one of the side streets. It sounded like a war-horn. He looked up in shock to see Aythis on the back of a mechanical dragon, leading his forces into battle with the wave.

“What happened to the signal!?” He heard Aythis yell over the clash of the armies, but a smile was on the elderly Kalavarian’s face. From the other side came Zythis and his army of rebels. Not nearly enough to stop the wave on either side, but enough to lock them in battle while Orenji and Drexx dealt with Annihilus. Drexx turned and ran back up the stairs, where Annihilus was already charging at Orenji. Drexx tackled him and disrupted his advance. The two crashed to the ground with Drexx on top, trying to pin down the alien. Annihilus roared in the android’s face.

“You will never defeat the Annihilation wave! Your weaklings have only prolonged your inevitable death.” He head-butted Drexx, who stumbled off of him and into a pillar.

“What is with this planet and head-butts?!” Drexx muttered. He unleashed his khopesh and shield, the khopesh slicing through some of his skin due to not being perfectly straight anymore. He winced in pain but advanced on Annihilus nonetheless.

“Your reign of tyranny ends here!” He slashed at the alien who dodged the blow and punched the android hard in the side of the ribs.

“Annihilus owns you!” He raised his hand and Drexx felt his own arm raising, holding the khopesh, the android struggled against it, but it was futile. His own sword impaled him in the stomach. Drexx spat up blood, staring down at the wound in his chest. He looked over at Orenji, a pained confused look on his face. Then he fell.

Orenji was kneeling on the ground clutching his wound. He had no idea how they were going to defeat Annihilus, he was just too strong. He looked over at Drexx who was still on the ground, but making his way over to Orenji.

“Annihilus is done messing around. Bring forth the wave!”

Orenji looked around, the Wave was upon them, and there were just so many insect creatures. There was no way now that they were going to win. With the strength of Annihilus and the sheer numbers of the wave, their deaths seemed impossible to avoid. He looked over at Migan; her eyes haven’t left him since she came out. He needed to get over to her; he needed to get her out of those chains so she could get away. It seemed like he was going to fail her, fail the kalavarians girls.

“I think this may be it for us buddy.” Drexx said standing next to Orenji. “You ready to go out in a blaze of glory?”

Orenji watched as Drexx launched his Wrecking ball technique at the oncoming wave. It was able to take out dozens of the oncoming creatures, but there was just too many of them. Orenji slowly got back up to his feet, starring at the oncoming wave. He had to keep fighting, fighting for Migan, for the Kalavarian people, and for himself.

Drexx took off running into the oncoming wave, about half way down the two of them heard a noise. Orenji looked at the direction of the noise and noticed Aythis approaching with all his mechanical creatures. Orenji heard another noise come from the distance; Zythis was there with the Kalavarian rebels. Both armies smashed into the wave, halting their charge. They weren’t going to be able to kill them all, but maybe give Orenji and Drexx enough time to deal with Annihilus.

“You will never defeat the Annihilation wave! Your weaklings have only prolonged your inevitable death.”

Orenji watched Drexx fight Annnihilus once again; the two went back and forth for some time. Until Annihilus dodged Drexx’s slash with his khopesh and got punched in the ribs. Orenji could see the pain in Drexx’s face. Then Annihilus lifted his hand, when he did that Drexx was slowly being lifted off of the ground. Orenji watched in horror that Annihilus was able to take control of Drexx. Orenji watched as Drexx’s sword impaled him in the stomach. Drexx spat up blood, staring down at the wound in his chest. He looked over at Orenji, a pained confused look on his face.

” DREXX! Don’t worry buddy I’m coming.” Orenji slowly made his way down the stairs.

Suddenly Kiiro jumped out of nowhere slamming his fists into the side of Annihilus’s head. The punch did nothing to Annihilus. He just laughed, grabbed Kiiro by the throat lifting him off of the ground. The necklace began to charge up, a beam was shot straight through Kiiro’s chest. Annihilus laughed as he tossed the body over by Orenji.

“KIIRO!!!!” Migan screamed

”What were you thinking Kiiro! Why would you do something like that.”

Orenji looked down at Kiiro’s body, his eyes were lifeless. Blood was pouring out of his chest covering the stairs. He looked over at Drexx, who was bleeding into the sand. He looked over at Migan and noticed another figure standing next to her. He recognized the figure as the mother of the two girls, Annihilus noticed Orenji looking past him. Annihilus turned to see the mother trying to free Migan, he laughed as he launched another beam at the mother.

”GET OUT OF THE WAY!”

Orenji was too late; the beam went straight through the mothers head. Blood sprayed all over Migan as she began to scream. Orenji again was too slow to save another person, looking down at Kiiro, then to Drexx, then to the mother. Orenji took off his weights, his power skyrocketing to max. Annihilus was still laughing.

”See you can’t defeat Annihilus, nothing you can do can defeat Annihilus.”

Orenji didn’t act to his remark, instead he charged at Annihilus. He tried to shoot Orenji, but he was to slow, Orenji easily dodged out of the way. Grabbed Annihilus by the head, slamming him into the ground, picking Annihilus up holding him in the air. Orenji began to slam punches over and over again into Annihilus’s ribs. Orenji let go of Annihilus, his body dropping to the ground. As he was going to stand up Orenji booted him in the chest sending him flying back into a wall. He gave Annihilus once again no time to rest. He charged across the battle field slamming his shoulder into Annihilus’s chest.

Annihilus spit out blood from the impact, Orenji took a few steps back activating his Ki No Tsurigi. Ki began to form around his left hand in the form of a blade. He launched himself at Annihilus running the blade through Annihilus’s right shoulder. Blood began to run down his body, but Orenji was just looking him in the eyes.

”You are finished Annihilus, your reign of tyranny has come to an end.” Orenji said taking a few steps back from him.

”Annihilus will never be defeated by the likes of you.” he said as he sprouted wings from his back trying to fly in into the air.

Orenji was quick to react, he grabbed onto Annihilus’s legs spun around and threw him across the field once again. Annihilus slammed into the wall again.

”Where do you think you are going, we are going to end this now!”

The pain was immense, like unto that of the metal within him crushing his organs. His khopesh had cut deeply into his circuits; Drexx was unsure what systems had been damaged by the deep impaling of his own blade. Annihilus had nearly killed the android, but he hadn’t hit his heart or the super-computer in his head.

The weary android raised his head, watching as Kiiro’s punch did nothing against the alien. Annihilus gripped him around the neck and raised him into the air, laughing all the while. Drexx began to yell to him, but was unable to make a sound when Annihilus’ beam cut through the human friend of Orenji. The large hole quickly filled with blood and the human looked as though he was trying to say something. Annihilus threw the lifeless body at Orenji.

Drexx beat his fist against the ground. Another he had failed to protect. Another death at the hands of Annihilus. Drexx looked up to see the mother of Orenji’s Kalavarian friends trying to free Migan. He looked on in horror as Annihilus too turned to face the pair. He laughed happily as another beam rocketed from him and went through the mother’s head. Another death…

Orenji roared in pain and confusion. He flung off his weights and charged at Annihilus. And began to beat the hell out of him. Blow after blow connected with Annihilus’ body, the Namekian’s pain and rage fueling his fists, the outrage pouring out of him. A ki blade enveloped Orenji’s hand and he slammed it into Annihilus’ shoulder.

Drexx slowly pulled the khopesh out of his stomach. It was excruciating, blood and oil mixed together pouring out of his wound. His nanobots healed him as best they could, but the damage was too immense to be healed quickly. He gasped when it came free, it folding back into his arm. Orenji grabbed Annihilus out of the air and slammed him back into the wall. The android slowly made his way to his feet.

“The necklace!” The android yelled to his Namekian friend. If they removed the necklace, Annihilus lost control of the cosmic control rod. They had to get it away from him. Annihilus used the necklace to begin closing his wounds, his armor melting into flesh over the wounds. He struggled against Orenji’s grasp but to no avail.

Drexx ran to Kiiro, but it was clear he was dead. The android put his hand over Kiiro’s face and shut his eyes. The mother was dead as well; Drexx didn’t need to get closer to see that. Migan struggled against her chains, not taking her eyes off of Orenji. Drexx raised two fingers and sliced through her chains. Then he sliced through Maku’s as well. He rushed over to Migan and grabbed her, preventing her from going near the Annihilus and Orenji fight. He knew she would want to interfere. Annihilus roared.

“Maku, get your daughter the hell out of here and tell the resistance to fall back, the androids should be able to hold off the wave long enough for us to finish Annihilus.”

Maku nodded and grabbed his daughter by the hand. She yelled to Orenji, but he was busy with Annihilus. Drexx rushed over to help his Namekian friend, ready to kill the tyrant.

Orenji was staring at Annihilus; apparently it was taking Annihilus longer than before to stand back up. Orenji made his way over to Annihilus; once he was close enough Annihilus lunged at him. The two tumbled across the ground. Annihilus won the struggle landing on top of Orenji swinging his fists at him. Repeated blows smashed into Orenji’s face. Annihilus tried to get another shot in but Orenji deflected it and connected with a punch of his own. The force behind the punch sent Annihilus off of Orenji and onto the ground. The two of them both quickly got back to their feet.

”You are never going to defeat Annihilus. You are going to die here, just like your friend did.” Annihilus said laughing at Orenji

More anger coursed through his body ”Don’t you talk about Kiiro! Annililus you are going to pay for that!”

Orenji screamed and charged at Annihilus, shoulder checking him into the wall. Orenji once again began beating on Annihilus; more blood began to seep out of Annihilus’s mouth. Annihilus got fed up with Orenji and blasted him in the chest. Orenji was sent flying back, but caught himself before slamming into the wall.

” Just Give up Anninilus you are never going to win.”

“The necklace!” Drexx yelled

Orenji looked back at Annihilus, and saw the necklace just hanging around his neck. He charged at Annihilus, trying to grab a hold on the necklace, but Orenji was too slow. Annihilus grabbed onto Orenji and threw him into the wall. Orenji coughed up blood from the impact, he was going to have to trick Annihilus in order to get that necklace form him.

”You are never going to take cosmic control rod from Annihilus. You aren’t going to win here Orenji. Annihilus is going to kill you, your friend, and every last person here.”

Orenji pushed back off of the wall, and tackled into Annihilus. The two once again struggled around the ground, but this time Orenji was the one that won the struggle. Orenji slammed both his hands into Annihilus face. After several minutes of beating the hell out of him Annihilus finally caught one of Orenji’s fist. The necklace began to glow and another blast slammed into Orenji’s chest. Orenji was sent flying through the air and landed next to Migan and her father, who had been freed from their chains.

“Maku, get your daughter the hell out of here and tell the resistance to fall back, the androids should be able to hold off the wave long enough for us to finish Annihilus.”

Migan’s father tried to take her away, but she refused to move.

“Father I am not going anywhere! I am not leaving Orenji behind; I am not going to run away from this.” Migan shouted

Slowly getting back to his feet ”Migan please get back with the resistance, go back to the bunker and wait for me there. I promise I am going to come find you once Annihilus is dealt with.”

“No Orenji I am not going to leave you, there is nothing you can say or do to make me leave.” Migan said

Orenji looked at her and just shook his head. He made his way back to where Annihilus was standing. Orenji knew that he had to get rid of that necklace in order to weaken him. Once that necklace is taken care of Annihilus was going to die rather quickly. He was going to need Drexx’s help if they were going to accomplish this.

Drexx raised his fingers and made a cutting motion towards Annihilus, the alien raised his forearms and blocked the blast, his feet grinding through the ground as he was forced backwards by the power of the attack. The android launched eye-beams at him, staggering his guard and forcing him into the wall.

“This ends now you monster!” Drexx ran at the monster, tackling him into the wall. The two tussled, and from outside Drexx could hear that the androids were losing ground, Aythis calling for a retreat. If they were going to win they needed to do it quickly.

Drexx focused his ki into his forehead and smashed it into Annihilus’ head. The monsters head cracked backwards, his nose, if you could call it that was clearly broken and dented.

“I finally see the appeal.”

With the creature distracted Drexx grabbed the necklace and ripped it from around his neck. Annihilus’ eyes grew wide, Drexx spun and kicked him in the chest, sending him into the wall. Drexx held the rod, feeling its power coursing through him. With it he could reshape the world. No one would be able to harm anyone ever again. He would be the perfect protector. No matter what. Orenji tackled Annihilus, more than capable of handling the tyrant without the cosmic control rod.

“This is your fight now Orenji.” Drexx said. “I’ll go deal with the wave.”

It morphed into a staff in his hands, long and white a shining sparkling crystal at the end of it. Flowing white robes appeared on his body and a long white robe appeared on the android. His wounds closed just by holding it. Drexx pinned Annihilus’ legs to the ground with a wave of the staff. The power coursing through him was immense, more than he could hope to control. He walked outside to face the wave, bodies of Kalavarians and androids, and plenty soldiers of the wave were everywhere. He raised the staff and a white light shone brightly at the end of it.

All gathered turned to face the android wielding the cosmic control rod. Drexx pointed it at the bodies of the fallen androids and they rose, once again filled with life, jumping back into the fray to fight the wavee. Sadly he couldn’t do the same with the Kalavarians. He jumped down into the fray himself, wielding the rod like a quarter-staff, slamming Arthrian soldiers with the end of it and blasting others at the same time.

"Run you fools!"

He slammed it down into the ground, a giant version of the Eye of Horus appearing, blasting Arthrian soldiers but completely missing the androids in the blast. The power he had was getting to his head. Aythis noticed the glowing white staff in his hands and shouted down to him.

“Drexx! Don’t let the power go to your head. We were wrong when we created the rod. We never thought of the evil it could bring. You have to destroy it!”

Drexx knew he was telling the truth. He focused his ki and the power from the staff into it. It shattered into a million pieces, the remaining energies of the staff used to shield the androids and Aythis from the pieces of the staff. Members of the wave all around them were impaled with shards, the power of the cosmic control rod gone forever.

Drexx walked back up to the stairs to the palace, hoping Orenji had already killed Annihilus.


Technique:

Ki-Powered Head-butt : Drexx charges his energy into the front of his head and smashes it into the face/chest/various limbs of the opponent.

Orenji Tackled Annihilus away from Drexx, they had finally gotten the necklace away from him. Annihilus’s power signature began to drop, Orenji could tell this. Orenji stood up, Annihilus did the same thing. He could tell that Annihilus was worried now that the cosmic control rod was out of his hands. Orenji looked at Annihilus and smiled.

“This is your fight now Orenji.” Drexx said. “I’ll go deal with the wave.”

”Don’t worry Drexx I am going to take care of this in a few seconds.”

Orenji charged at Annihilus slamming his fist into Annihilus’s head. He was sent flying through the air once again slamming into the wall. Orenji charged at him ripped him from the wall, tossing him through the air. Charging at him again, as Annihilus slowly got to his feet; Orenji jumped up and slammed both his knees into Annihilus’s chest. Annihilus quickly slammed into the ground, Orenji landed right behind him.

”Like I said Annihilus your time has come. You have killed billions of people and it is time for you to pay for that.”

Orenji picked him up, spun him around and booted him in the chest. Annihilus flew back bouncing off of the ground. He slowly got back to his feet, and turned his back to Orenji, beginning to slowly lift off of the ground.

”Annihilus isn’t going to die today. Annihilus will let the wave devour you.”

Orenji was not about to let Annihilus get away, he charged across the field, jumping into the air. He landed on Annihilus’s back, grabbing a hold of the wings. Annihilus quickly descended through the air crashing into the ground, with Orenji on top of him.

”Annihilus it is time for you to go.”

Orenji began to pull back, still grabbing a hold of Annihilus’s wings. He could feel the wings begin to tear and rip from Annihilus’s back. Annihilus began to scream out in pain, but he wasn’t going to beg Orenji to stop. Orenji continued to pull until both wings were ripped from the back of Annihilus. Blood quickly poured down Annihilus’s back. He began to try to crawl away from Orenji, knowing death was mere seconds away.

”Annihilus it is time for you to pay for your crimes, for all the people you killed. For Kiiro, for Maku, and for MIGAN!”

Orenji walked up to Annihilus and pointed his index finger at the back of Annihilus’s head. Orange ki began to build up at the end of the finger.

”Annihilus will never die! Annihilus will return!”

”I don’t think so Annihilus.” Orenji said releasing the Dodonpa Ray, obliterating Annihilus’s head

It was finally done, Orenji was looking down at Annihilus’s lifeless and headless corpse, Annihilus’s blood began to seep into the sand. He fell to the ground exhausted from the fight. Once again it took everything he had to defeat Annihilus, but the Kalavarian people were finally free and safe. Orenji slowly got to his feet, limping his way over to Kiiro’s body. He knelt down next to the body. He had failed to protect him; Kiiro was the one that got Orenji and Drexx here. He died trying to protect Drexx from Annihilus, but that costs him his life.

”I am sorry Kiiro, I am sorry I couldn’t keep you alive. I have failed protecting you.”

“You didn’t fail him Orenji; he did what he had to do to help you. He cared for you, you were his greatest friend. You should feel proud you saved the Kalavarian people.” Migan said putting a hand on Orenji’s shoulder.

”Yeah we killed Annihilus, but billions of people still died, one of them being a close friend of mine. And now those two kalavarians girls mother is dead, I promised them I was going to protect them all. Migan what am I supposed to do now, How am I supposed to tell them that their mother died and I couldn’t do anything to save her.” Orenji stood up looking at Migan ”Migan lay down I am going to heal your wounds.”

“Orenji I am fine you need to rest. Please I will be alright, just sit down and relax.” Migan said

Orenji ignored what she said and once again told her to lay down, this time she did. Light orange ki began to radiate over Migan’s body, healing her injuries. Minutes later Migan was fully healed, Orenji sat down starring at Kiiro’s body. There was nothing he could do to bring Kiiro back now, Kiiro sacrificed himself to give Drexx and himself more time. Orenji was never going to forget about Kiiro, he looked around for Drexx, it was only a matter of time before Drexx came back.

It was a hollow victory. Yes the Kalavarian people had been saved, and yes the annihilation waved had been stopped, decimated by Drexx’s control of the cosmic control rod and Aythis’ android army. But the cost was too high to have made the victory worth it. Millions of Kalavarian were dead; the species was still teetering on the brink of extinction. Kiiro was dead, Orenji’s friend… dead by the hand of the tyrant Annihilus, who now too lay dead. Mothers had lost children, and there were hundreds of kids who were now orphaned. Including Orenji’s twins.

But still there was celebration. The Kalavarian’s that were left gathered in the capital city of Zuk. Drexx was surprised to see thousands of them. They had hidden in different bunkers, staying away from the wave and surviving as best they could. Zythis leading the celebrations, banged up but still very much alive. The benevolent sun Zuk shone down brightly on them all, and a cloud seemed to be purposefully blocking out Kuz.

Zythis embraced both Drexx and Orenji, hugging both saviors tightly. The great king was wrapped in bandages from the wounds sustained leading his rebel forces against the wave. Aythis too was there, and no one had been more surprised to see him then his great-great-grandson. It was clear that the two had much to catch up on. Aythis vowed to never again leave the city until his dying day, swearing that his android army would protect the greatest, and only, Kalavarian city.

Drexx’s wounds had been fully healed by his wielding of the cosmic control rod. Orenji had gone around and healed those who needed it, but Drexx could tell the Namekain’s heart wasn’t in it. He wondered how the conversation with the twin girls had gone, or his conversation with Migan.

Zythis had insisted that the Kalavarians erect a statue of Drexx and Orenji, right in front of what was to be the new science building. Everywhere the duo went they were greeted with cheers and pats on the back. They were heroes. But for some reason the android didn’t feel too much like a hero. They had allowed too many deaths to occur.

Annihilus’ body was burned, the android had done the deed himself… but his last words remained in Drexx’s head. Burned there, as if Annihilus was whispering in his ear.

“Annihilus will never die! Annihilus will return!”

If that was true… what would the Kalavarians do? Drexx and Orenji would need to stay in contact with the Kalavarians. They would need to be ready to return in case Annihilus did find his way back, but even if he did he wouldn’t have the might of the wave behind him, but he was still a deadly foe nonetheless.

Zythis clapped Drexx on the back, rousing him from his thoughts. A familiar Kalavarian approached. It was the very same one that had tackled him upon his arrival on the planet. He stared down at his feet and his hands played with themselves nervously behind his back.

“Drexx, Mitrigo has something he would like to say to you.”

The Kalavarian looked up into the eyes of the android. The hate was still present, but it was lessened, and Drexx detected something else there as well.

“I will never forgive you for killing my brother it is beyond my ability as a Kalavarian, but I can also never thank you enough for saving my people. Android, consider us even. I no longer seek revenge.” Mitrigo walked away after his words, and Drexx stared after him watching him go.

“That was incredibly difficult for him to do.” Zythis patted the android on the shoulder and smiled. “And now to the business of our celebration!” They spent the rest of the night partying and celebrating the return to life of Kalavar. The very next day, the funeral for Kiiro was held. He was given a Kalavarian heroes funeral.

Drexx stood off to the side, watching as Migan and Orenji said their pieces about the human. Drexx had barely known him, but the way they talked about him made him wish he had. He was incredibly saddened by the loss, and also felt somewhat responsible, having been the reason Kiiro had attacked Annihilus. Still he said nothing, just stood silently, respectfully. The pyre Kiiro was laid to rest on burned bright into the night sky, filling the air with sparks.

[Orenji]

The Kalavarian people began a celebration from the victory that was accomplished by Drexx and Orenji. But the victory was almost meaningless to Orenji, too many people died before they got there. Orenji wasn’t in the mood for celebrating at the current moment. Zythis embraced both Drexx and Orenji, thanking them. They were Zuk-sends, they were the saviors, the Kalavarian people could rebuild, get to their former glory.

”I am glad that I could help you Zythis.”

Zythis then embraced his great-great grandfather; the two of them began to talk. It had been a very long time since the two had seen each other. Orenji left Drexx and proceeded to go around healing every Kalavarian soldier that was wounded during the fight. Once complete Orenji ducked away from the massive celebration that was going on. He just needed some time to himself before going back and being treated as a hero, even though he didn’t feel like it. There was just too much on his mind to deal with everyone right now.

“Orenji where are you going? There is a celebration for you and Drexx’s victory.” Migan said

Orenji turned around to see her standing there, holding the hands of the two kalavarians girls. Three people he really didn’t want to talk to right now. It seems like that was going to have to happen now.

“Where are you going Orenji, you don’t want to celebrate.” The necklace wearing girl said

”There is just a lot on my mind right now, I need to get away from everything and clear my head. I am sorry but I don’t feel like talking now.”

Orenji turned back around and tried to walk away from the three, but someone grabbed a hold of his hand. He turned around to see that the girl with the necklace was holding onto his hand. She was looking up at him with pure white eyes. She held up both of her hands, Orenji didn’t know what she was asking, he just looked at Migan.

“She wants you to pick her up, haven’t you ever dealt with children before Orenji?” Migan said picking up the other child “This is Oribia and that is her sister Ari Eru, you might want to pick her up.” Migan told Orenji

Orenji looked down at Ari Eru, picking her up. The girl wrapped her arms around Orenji’s neck, nuzzling her head on his shoulder. He was still confused as to why these two had such a strong attachment to him. He looked over at Migan who was smiling.


“Where is mother?” Ari Eru said to Orenji

Those words pierced Orenji’s heart, how was he going to tell them that their mother was never coming back. Minutes passed and Orenji said nothing to them, no words came out of his mouth. There was nothing he could say to them. He looked down Ari Eru, but still nothing was said.

“Girls your mother tried to save me from Annihilus, but she died by Annihilus’s hands. Orenji tried to save her, but it was too late. Orenji tried his best to save her.” Migan said

Orenji looked down at Ari Eru, tears began to well up in her eyes and run down her face. She buried her face into Orenji’s chest. There was nothing he could do to ease the child’s pain. For several hours Orenji and Migan stayed with the two girls. They enjoyed the celebration that was going on for Drexx and Orenji. Two statues were built to honor them as hero’s on Kalavar 3. The next day funerals were held for those lost during the battle with Annihilus and the wave. Kiiro was one of the people laid down on top of one of the pyre’s. Migan was the first to say her piece to Kiiro.

”I am sorry Kiiro, you didn’t need to do what you did, but I thank you for it. You are never going to get forgotten. We are going to remember you for everything that you have done for us. Once again I am sorry that you died during this.”

Orenji took a step back and the pyre was lit, it burned brightly in the night sky. Orenji told Migan to take the two girls over to there their mother was. They needed to see her one last time before she was sent away. Orenji remained watching the pyre Kiiro was on burn to the ground.

Drexx stood at the foot of his space pod, taking one last look across the desert expanse. His adventure on Kalavar had only lasted a short while, but so much had occurred here. So much had changed. Zythis had insisted they have a royal escort to their pods, which were brought to the city limits. He was sad to be leaving the planet, but at the same time he was happy to be returning to Earth.

“Can’t you stay? You are the saviors of our people. Here you will want for naught!” But Drexx could only refuse. Earth had become his home. He had friends there. Family there in Tina and Mia and Dale. He needed to see them, to know they had been okay during his absence.

“Very well my friend. Take care.” Zythis embraced him one last time, holding the android’s shoulders and staring at him for a long while. He patted his shoulder one last time. Drexx swore he saw a line of smoke rolling down the Kalavarian kings cheek.

Tara appeared as Drexx was turning back to go into his pod. She had seen all of the events Drexx had. She knew of the horrors Annihilus had committed, but she had stayed out of it to give Drexx space. She too placed a hand on Drexx’s shoulder.

Well… that was certainly something.

Drexx nodded. He bit his lip and nodded staring at the suns. This planet would rebuild. He was sure of it. The Kalavarians were down but not out, and it was all thanks to Drexx and Orenji. Far off on a ridge he saw Aythis waving down at him. Drexx gave him a friendly wave and sat down in his pod.

Are you okay?

“I’m fine. I… I will be fine.” Drexx said clearing his throat. The events had left him scared, but he would preserver. His pod rocketed away from the planet.

The next day after the funerals Drexx and Orenji had decided to leave the planet and return to Namek and Earth. Orenji talked to Migan and she wasn’t going to be going back to Earth, she was going to be going back to Namek with Orenji. He wasn’t going to leave her again, he has caused her too much pain already.

“Can’t you stay? You are the saviors of our people. Here you will want for naught!”

”I wish we could stay here Zythis, but we have our own planets to protect. We will be back, that is a promise we have made friends here, we will not forget about you.”

Orenji turned around about to get back into his pod, but a childs voice called out his name from the crowd. He turned around to see the two kalavarians girls making their way through the crowd, making their way up to Orenji and Migan.

“What is it Bia and Ari? We are about to go home.” Migan said kneeling down to their level.

“We want to go with you! Please let us go to Orenji’s planet.” Ari said grabbing a hold of Migan’s hand

”I don’t think that you can come with us back to Namek. Your place is here with your people, you should be with them.”

”It is alright Orenji if they wish to go with you that is fine by me. Kalavarians usually don’t leave the planet, but it looks like they have grown attached to you. It is up to you if you want them to go to your planet.” Zythis said smiling at Orenji

Orenji looked down at Migan who was looking at him. She agreed to the idea, that it might be good for them to see new things, meet new people. She asked him what harm it could do if they were to go to Namek. Orenji wanted to say no but the look in Migan’s eyes he just couldn’t. Orenji shook his head and entered his space-pod.

”I will have one of my ships follow you back to this planet Namek. They will be safe, I will send some of my best warriors accompany them.”

”Thank you Zythis, and good luck rebuilding your cities. I will return one day.”

The space pod door closed, Alfred asking Orenji where they were headed now. Orenji told him to head back to Namek, he needed to get Migan and the girls to his mentor to explain the situation.

Technique Learned: Shockwave: Orenji charges a orange ki ball in his hands, that ball will solidify. Then 3-5 light ki barriers are put around the ball. It is then sent in a direction, after a few feet the first layer rapidly expands out sending opponents flying into the air. Each foot after that another layer expands out till every layer is gone, then the ball disappears.

The sands shifted, and a hand rocketed up through. It gripped the sand and slowly the rest of the arm pushed itself upwards, followed by the head. A very familiar head. One monster thought dead. It had a fierce snarl on his face.

“Annihilus lives forever.”
