There was a place by a waterfall in the forest that was quite clear of trees and wildlife. Blaze was happy to have found this place to train in... it reminded him of his house on Namek. A small one by a river he had lived in with Carnel before he became Guru.
It was a beautiful day. A slight breeze cooled the Icer down. Not that the heat bothered Blaze, he was brought up in it. That was one of the many things he had different about himself in comparison to the rest of his kind.
And today, Blaze had something new to try rather than just punching the air and blasting rocks. He had seen Suki's Death Beam, and his Death Saucer attacks. He heard of the catastrophic power of the Deathball. But all the while, he never heard of a Death "Wave" before.
So, he woke up today, ate some fish, went for a walk, and decided "Hey! I got a great idea. I'm going to make... a Death Cannon!" he said to himself in excitement. And now he would stand over the waterfall and look out over the small lake that the water poured into.
There was lots of space out there, and across from the falls at the opposite edge of the lake was a mountain. A big one, but not large enough to be named and not close enough to civilization to bother anyone. Blaze could blast away without hurting anyone. He took a stance and charged up some energy, then fired an energy wave across into the side of the mountain.
It was nothing really, just a basic warm up shot that made a small explosion in the distance. "Alright, cool. Now lets amp it up a bit!" he said, cupping his hands together and firing off another bright white blast of energy. This one was stronger. But still not quite what he had in mind.
Blaze shot off a few more blasts. He charged some longer, tried charging faster, and even tried just one hand. The one handed thing seemed to help him fire energy waves better than two for some reason. It felt easier and... more fluid to him.
But he wasn't getting the Ki output he wanted. He began growing frustrated as an hour ticked by. Then he was just getting downright pissed as it started to get dark and he'd gotten nowhere in the last little while. So, instead of gong mad, he decided it was better to just sit and take a break.
Blaze pulled a case from the back pocket of his jeans. He popped out his ship first, then went inside to grab a small tent and a radio, along with a small removable fridge he had inside. He put the ship away so it would feel more like "Camping" without it. He cracked open his favorite drink, an Ice Kold Soda, and flicked the radio on to listen to some music.
A couple songs played by, and before another could play, he heard the transmission. It was a message from Serori! She made it off Kold. Blaze knew she'd be fine. And Suki was likely right with her...
But then he started paying attention... the words she spoke were not the words of Victory. They were the words of a scared, distraught woman. And she said the one thing that Blaze thought he would never hear...
Touketsuki Yakedo... Suki was dead.
Dead. Blaze stared blankly at the radio. Serori began her mad raging slur of screams towards everyone who wasn't there... Blaze could only faintly hear the words now. But she was right. "I didn't stay..." he said to himself. He could have helped her fight. But didn't. He was angry with himself now, even forgetting the reason he'd left in the first place was to get a ship full of innocents to safety.
He heard her say the things people called her. Blaze felt for her... there were many under the WTO banner who thought little of Serori. And many disliked Suki due to his methods of rule. But Serori was right. They may have been able to pull off a win if they had pulled together. But they didn't. And Blaze knew why.
He remembered back in Kold Palace. Blaze had tried to warn Suki about this... the people wouldn't support him in a time of need if they feared him! But the Icarian Lord's words stayed with him even now..."Gaining the peoples hearts will make them happier and more willing to stay...and yet..."
"...regardless of if they fear me...or love me... I rule over them, and there is nothing they can do about it, nor nothing I can do to change their minds"
Suki was wrong. There was much he could have done to change their minds. He... just didn't know how. And he was too stubborn to let Blaze or Serori help him. Maybe then they would have pulled together with him in one last fight on Kold.
"Damnit... your power... it could have helped so many people if you could have just pulled your head out of your ass!" he yelled, backhanding the radio. Blaze had an idea of what had driven Suki mad to begin with. His past. And that drove him to do more things he would soon regret.
But Suki was a dweller. He was stuck in an endless cyclone of regret and couldn't get out. The meds he was on... they made things worse. Blaze came so close to crushing that bottle in front of him and handing him a picture of Serori. That's all the medicine you need. He should have told him.
But now he was gone. Serori was a captive. And the WTO was gone. Blaze blamed himself... he could think of a hundred different things he could have done different to change things. But he didn't.
Blaze walked up to the edge of the waterfall once more. He clenched his fists and unleashed his power. He powered up with everything he had, trying to get the anger out. Before long, he had cycled all the way to his True form, his power radiating on a three-quarter million level. And then some. The energy caused the water to spray back and away from the falls, running them dry and making it rain as he powered up. He could even feel the ground shake.
He ad grown much stronger since he left Namek. But not strong enough. He'd never be strong enough to avenge Suki. Nor did he want to. Suki made his bed... and he knew it was coming. Blaze could only do one thing with his power now...
Whatever he wanted. Wherever he liked. And right now, he was going to use it to get all his rage out! He held a closed fist up to chest level, the ki raging around him and the energy forming in his hand violently. He condensed as much energy as he could until his hand was forced open by it.
Then he looked at the mountain across from him. He should have stopped... but he didn't. He was too angry now. Something had to give.
"Death Cannon."
The words were growled, and his arm was shoved out in front of him, releasing a wave of black ki. Blue volts of energy arsed through and around the wave, some of the energy expelling back around his hand as it fired. The product was a massive Energy Cannon with a deep, deafening bass noise to it as it tore across the sky parting the water below before it crashed into the mountain.
There was a blinding flash, and a huge explosion could be seen for miles before the flash was replaced with a titanic cloud of smoke where the mountain once stood. Now a crater that the lake had begun to expand into. Little did Blaze know that his blast had cleared a path for easier and now closer access to water for the village. Yet blowing up a mountain wasn't something that would be smiled upon.
But he wasn't worried about the people of Amizonica's thoughts. He just crossed his arms. "Deal with it." he said, and turned to blast off into the horizon, hoping to expel his power before someone got hurt.
