Time: 4:14 PM, mid afternoon Location: Satan City. Cafe Rose.
Requies had been sitting outside, at one of the little tables under a sun umbrella, drinking a cup of coffee. He had been caught in a mental trance, ever since hearing about the treaty with the interplanetary powers ending. This seemed like the perfect opportunity to get his name out there and earn the respect that he'd been wanting, but... This is a very important matter! At any given moment, Requies might hear about some incident that can happen at the edge of the solar system over the radio or something that'll spike this planet into full blown panic!
"What about those kids," Requies thought, recalling the kids from before, "What's gonna happen to them if a full blown war comes out?!"
Requies rubbed the bridge of his nose as he closed his eyes as he thought. They were going to end up as bystanders in this whole ordeal, whether war happened with the world's people and one of the alien empires or if the empires assaulted one another. Each side, as much as he could guess at, was going to be very... destructive, whether it was on purpose or if it would be accidental.
"What if I join the army again... Or even those special forces that were made? Maybe I could do something if I involve myself in this? We could probably-"
The sound of a wailing car interrupted Requies thought process for a moment. He looked at the street, to see a guy shouting out from his window towards some car that cut him off. Requies then thought to himself, as he took another sip of his coffee, "Man, did I choose a spot to think at..."

"Goodbye Dale! Goodbye Mia!" Eona called back, waving. The door of the bakery closed behind her, the twinkling of the bell sounding softly in her ears as she adjusted her grip on the bag of goodies they had given her. It had been weeks after Drexx saved her life and brought her here, weeks since Eona discovered her ability to heal. She had stayed up at the school mostly. After all, students were starting to flow in and Eona had taken over as the grounds keeper of sorts. Tending the garden, cooking up breakfasts and some dinners. She even did the laundry and cleaning. It was simple, hard work, but she liked it. Eona had no interest in fighting, though she enjoyed seeing the smiles on Jorlaxls students everyday. Even the ones who came to her for healing sessions.
She had changed since he first found her. No longer did she wear the flowing dress she had been found in, opting more for the cute clothing of this world. Even today she wore a light blue, short pleated skirt and a sage green, long sleeve shirt. White stockings ran up her legs, blue flats adorning her feet. She looked just like any other, twenty something girl from Earth. No one would suspect that she had been dead for five thousands years, not even her.
Humming, Eona made her way down the sidewalk, holding a bag full of treats and a cake in her arms. It was a students birthday tomorrow, and Eona wanted a cake made especially by Mia for it. She had also hoped to see Drexx there, but had no such luck. She hadn't seen the android since they parted ways, and she could only pray him and his strange green friend were alright. She made her way past a coffee shop, most of it's patrons outside on this lovely day. Completely obvious to the world around her, Eona didn't even notice when a small child ran before her. She stopped quickly tripping over her feet and falling down hard on her butt. Wincing, she sat there for a moment.
"Ow," she muttered. With a small gasp, she quickly looked inside the bag, breathing a sigh of relief when she saw the cake and sweets unharmed.

Requies took another sip of his sweetened coffee, looking around with some what glazed eyes at the travelling citizens. Some girls giggled a little after giving a small glance in his direction, hurrying along as they did. The attire Requies wore today was his training gear, save for his steel toed sneaker-like boots. His shirt was open, showing the well developed muscles from his training. Requies was completely lost in thought and didn't even notice the looks he was getting.
A couple of kids were running around the coffee shop tables, playing a game of tag, while their parents sat a table with an older gentleman, talking about something that didn't concern Requies. One of the kids ran out near the sidewalk and, after doing so, made a young looking lady trip over herself. The ex-soldier snapped back to reality for a moment and looked in her direction. He put his mug down and made his way over, being that she was near by.
He noticed that the girl was looking frantically in the bag, to only reveal relief. He knelt down and asked, "Hey, are you alright, miss?"
(I know it's a small post, but bare with me. By the way, to give you an idea of what Requies looks like, take Street Fighter's Ryu's outfit and then plop Trunk's face on him and change his hair to brown... That's him in a nutshell.

"Hey, are you alright, miss?"
Eona turned her head toward the voice, finding herself face-to-face with a man who seemed to be a few year older than her. He was handsome, her silver eyes resting on his light blue ones. After a moment, Eona flushed and turned her gaze from him to her bag.
"Y-Yes, thank you!" she said quickly. Eona had caught site of what the woman nearby openly admired. His bare, chiseled, muscular chest. While Eona was in no way shy around people most of the time, she was at any sight of naked flesh. Which, of course made working at the school quite a bit hard sometimes. She had no qualms about seeing it when she was healing, she didn't have time to concentrate on it. But at times like these, her face would flush a deep red and she wouldn't be able to speak coherently if presented with it. And with the man's height in comparison to her's, his bare chest was right at her eye level.
Eona brushed a stray strand of teal hair behind her ear, pushing herself off the ground and standing. With one hand she clutched the bag of sweets, the other brushing the dirt off her short blue skirt. She smiled at the man, eyes trained on the ground.
"Um, thank you for worrying. I-I'm fine though, really," she said. Eona glanced up before flushing and looking away again. She hugged the bag closer to herself, keeping her silver gaze away. Eona really needed to get this under control.

The girl seemed to flush after meeting eye to eye with Requies. The woman's silver eyes seemed dazzling in the light of the sun, as well as mesmerizing. He couldn't help but blush a little as well, rubbing the back of his neck. The situation was becoming a little more awkward for him and for her as well, sitting there silently. Requies cleared his throat a little, as he asked, "Uhm... Mind if I help you up, miss?"
Requies held out a hand, as he waited for the nervous looking girl to reply. As she told him he was fine in a nervous tone, he replied, "Ah, nonsense! Let me help you to your feet."
He helped the teal haired woman to her feet, letting her stand up on her own. She seemed a tad embarrassed at Requies. He took note of this and folded his shirt of his torso, tying his belt over to make sure it didn't open up. Requies also took note of a sweet smell coming from the bag she held in her hand.
"Maybe she was coming from one of the bakeries around here," he thought to himself, eyeing the bag, "It would explain why she seemed worrisome about it."
Requies asked her, trying to sound more normal toned, "So... What-uh... What's brought you around these parts, miss...?"

Peeking at him out of the corner of her eye, Eona saw him tie his training garb closed. She gave him a small smile, completely embarrassed. She was often teased about this back at the school. Especially since whenever a student was hurt, she'd go straight into nurse-mode. Some of the men even joked about going to see her in the nude with an injury, just to tease her. Eona tucked another strand of her short hair behind her ear, a nervous habit.
"Just running some errands and checking up on friends," she said with a smile. There was a reason Eona had gone to see Dale and Mia, despite Mia's amazing cooking and the couple's pleasant company. At least a month, if not more, ago, dale had been unable to walk. He had been paralyzed from the waist down. Eona had managed to heal him completely, allowing him to walk once more. Everyone there had been overjoyed at this fact, but she remained a bit worried. If her powers had a temporary effect, dale very well could loose the function of his legs once more. Aside from Drexx, he had been the first she ever remembered healing. So she checked up on them quite a bit, watching for any signs.
Eona gave him a sweet smile, hoping to clear up the awkward situation. Shifting the bag so that she held it in one arm, Eona put her hand out for him to shake.
"My name is Eona. May I have yours?" she asked. She took a moment to really study the man before her. He was very...well, big. The man towered over her by at least a head, and his broad chest and arms utterly dwarfed her petite, delicate body. His skin was a nice, natural tan and his hair a nice shade of brown. The man's eyes were also quite nice, a pretty shade of blue and quite kind.

She seemed to have a nervous habit with her hair, as she constantly tucked a strand of her hair back. Requies's smile faded a little, but not entirely from view. She was doing some errands for friends of her and was probably bringing the sweets in her bag to them. Eona reached her hand, after introducing herself.
"The name is Requies. Requies Artog," he stated, pausing for a moment as he shook her hand.
He released and asked her, "Tell me... Would you like some company as you do these errands, Eona? It'd be a little less treacherous to walk alone, carrying that delicate cargo in your hands."
Requies wanted to get his mind off the whole possible, interplanetary war thing for a bit and he hadn't really spent time with people that much. It was about time that he did so, rather than get lost in a depressing haze. "So how about it," he asked Eona, "Would you like some company?"

His hand was warm, a far cry from her colder one. She tilted her head, curious about his offer. It wasn't exactly a usual one. Eona didn't believe that most people would volunteer to help a stranger out with their errands unless there was an ulterior motive. She heisted, going over the list of things to do. She still had to pick up some thing from the grocery store.... and the pharmacy. Yes, she had a good couple of things left to do before returning to the school. And, she wouldn't mind the help. Eona turned her gaze back to Requies. He seemed trustworthy. She'd just have to be careful. After a moment, she nodded, a smile on her face.
"I would appreciate that very much, Mr. Artog," she said politely. Eona shifted the bag to her other arm. With her now free hand, she pulled out a list from her other pocket. There wasn't much there. A few food items, but most of it cleaning things. She had taken over as caretaker for the school, which meant a lot of laundry and a lot of bandages. After all, she didn't have the strength to heal everyone. She looked up at him once more.
"Shall we go then? I just have a couple of things to pick up at the grocery store, then the pharmacy. It wont be long, I promise," she said, wrapping both arms around the bag of sweets once more. The smell was tempting, and if she hadn't tried some of Mia's newest treats back at the bakery, Eona was sure she'd have snuck a good couple by now. With one more smile at Requies, she turned and began the walk to the grocery store at the end of the street. It was a small one, with unique things that Eona loved to cook with. Many of the students were aliens, using the school as a refuge and a training ground. She had learned a lot of different recipes from them, and enjoyed trying to replicate them. Of course, there was only so much so could do. As she walked, Eona turned her head toward the large man.
"I'm curious though on why you volunteered to help me, Mr. Artog. Not many would help a stranger," she asked, straight to the point.

"Excellent! Where to first," Requies asked. She pulled out a list, as she stated she needed some things from the Pharmacy and the Grocery Store. Getting the stuff from the Pharmacy would probably be best, but it really wasn't Requies's decision to make.
"Well, lets get a move on," he stated, walking a little bit away, before a question was brought up. She wanted to know the reason why he was helping him out. He stopped and placed his hands on his hips. Requies sighed and turned around, smiling nonchalantly.
He responded, "Just felt like being helpful to someone who could use it."
Requies wasn't being truthful there, as he really didn't wanna bring his thoughts out into the light so early to a stranger. She was probably gonna find out at one point, given if he wanted her to know more about him. Requies began thinking that if they wanted to get these jobs finished fast, they should fly. However, once again, it wasn't his decision to make. The ex-soldier stretched out a hand and asked her, "Tell me.... Do you want to take the fast way or the short way?"

"Just felt like being helpful to someone who could use it." "Just felt like being helpful to someone who could use it." "Just felt like being helpful to someone who could use it."
"Just felt like being helpful to someone who could use it."
The phrase rang through her head over and over. Eona stopped, staring right into his eyes. Her silver ones seemed to bore into him, intense and direct. If not for her shirt, the markings on her back would easily be seen, glowing a pale silvery-blue light. Eona knew one thing for sure, the very fact resonating deep within her.
He was lying.
Requies's next words broke whatever spell had gotten a hole of her. Eona blinked, turning her gaze away. She had no idea what came over her. And whatever it had been, it freaked her out a bit. It had seemed like the world stopped. She hadn't heard anything but his words repeating over and over and over again. It had been creepy, and frightening. Taking a moment, she registered that Requies had spoken to her again. She was confused though.
"What do you mean, the fast way or the short way? Wouldn't those over lap?" she asked, quite curious about his words.
short post is short. Sorry. .-.

"Well... The fast way and the short way are actually different forms of travel... The short way is me carrying you while running as fast I can," he stated. She'd probably decline to that mode of transportation, since she's carrying delicate sweets. The other way he was thinking about was through flight, but he wasn't sure if she was the type that was afraid of heights.
He then stated, "The other way, the short way, is through flight, but not just normal flight in a hover craft. The flight I mean..."
Requies paused, as he started to rise higher above ground. He looked down to her and crossed his arms, as he hover just a few feet above.
"... Is this kind. It helps bypass a lot of streets and people that might bump into you while carrying that box you seem worried about. Of course, the choice is up to you, but I'd recommend this way of travel," he continued, smiling as he did. Requies noticed the glare from before he received, but he ignored it. He felt like this could be a last good thing he could do until he made his way to one of the government buildings, to see if he could register under the World's Special Forces.
"Wanna fly through the sky with birds, Eona?"
(If it helps and if you choose flight, you can choose where we go first.)
