Harsh lands (Open, first come)

There was a silence attached to the barren wastes of Yunzabit heights. There was a hue of blue as the cold air brushed over the hardened exterior of the hills, and drops. This landscape had been one perfect for training in until Geurin opened his new super dome. Now schools were lining up, requesting training time in the dome. With the dome overflowing with new customers, places like Yunzabit were left untamed.

Yet something still lurked here.

"Hrm..." Fudotatakai hummed to himself out of curiosity. Lately he'd been feeling a high concentration of energy signatures in the direction of his home town, which probably had something to do with the rumors he'd heard of some kind of dome opening up. He wasn't the kind of man to sit down and talk with random bystanders, and he obviously didn't have any friends, so the occasional chatter in the streets was the only clue he had regarding the new building. From what he'd heard, many martial artists were gathering in the area. He figured it was worth checking out at some point, but that would mean dealing with people, which he disliked. Now on yet another stroll through the woods of the Yunzabit heights, the man was focused on trying to find a nearby power source that would offer him a challenge.

His challenge would not be met. The desolate wastes had brought no fighters, the only thing that remained in the snowy ice caps was a bright orange orb. The rustling of the tree's caused the safely nested Orb to fall from its perch and roll down the trunk of the tree.

The lone man who traveled through the heights would be the first to see it. A single bright star shining through it.

Fudotatakai sighed to himself, realizing that he was simply too far north to find any formidable fighters. The snow was starting to kick in, and though his body was well insulated by his dense muscles, thick skin and rugged gi, he was starting to feel a bit chilled. He turned to begin making his way back to his base of operations (which was little more than a few boulders atop a low mountain) before something caught his ears. A rustling sound, as if something had just landed on - or fallen from - the top of a nearby tree.

The man peered his head through the various trunks and branches surrounding him, wanting to get a look at whatever made the noise. He stepped between a few thick trees before seeing something that looked quite out of place. It was bright and orange, and partially buried in snow and resting against the bark of a sturdy tree. Fudo approached the object and knelt beside it, tilting his head in curiosity. It was quite radiant, emitting a light that heavily contrasted the dimness of the evening. He picked up the orb, which fit snugly in the palm of one hand, and stared at it. He wiped off some of the snow and struck an inquisitive look at what lied within: A single red jewel in the shape of a star.

He may not have been a jeweler, but Fudo could tell that the strange object was masterfully crafted. It was perfectly smooth and had no visible faults along its slick surface. He stood up straight and examined the gem for a moment longer before tucking it into his gi top, deciding he might as well hold onto it. He had already amassed a small collection of interesting objects back on his mountaintop, and this was definitely his most prized finding so far. He didn't know where the ball came from, but whatever its origin, he knew it was somehow important. No one in their right mind would go to the trouble of creating or purchasing such a beautiful work of art, only to discard it in the middle of a snowy wilderness.

With his new possession safely tucked under his arm, Fudotatakai began making his way back so that he may hide the object safely, not wanting anyone to get their hands on it.
