Inside the Kold palace, a woman was in turmoil. She had locked herself in her bathroom, away from anyone else. This room was hers, anyway, and hers alone. Nobody should be bothering her, when she is back here.
A small stick, a small color, a small sound.
"Positive?"
Serori's voice was barely more than a whisper, the faintest trace of sound escaping from her lips.
"No, no, this can't be..."
She threw the stick on the forming pile by the sink, blue standing out against the white porcelain. She had already done the test three times, but still she wanted to be sure, the tests couldn't be right, they just couldn't.
Unwrapping the foil, she sat down again, administering the test. Their were easier ways, blood samples, machines to do the job for her. But all of these would be more obvious, a higher chance of being caught.
She placed the stick on a paper towel, kneeling, crying. She prayed to some higher entity, anything that would listen to her, to not let this be happening.
Ten minutes past, and she opened her eyes. Through the wetness from under her lids, it took her a moment to focus on the article in front of her. A few moments of unknowing bliss, a bit of hope that her prayers had been answered. But when her eyes finally focused, her view was filled with blue.
"No, no no no no!" She wrapped her arms around her legs, head between her knees. Salty water dripped from her face to the porcelain tiles. Her face was screwed into a grimace, teeth grinding. "I...I have to be strong..." Standing up, she looked at herself in the mirror. Red eyes, puffy nose, she couldn't do anything about those. She did take a towel to dry her face, dropping it on the floor. If anybody asked, she could say she had a very bad cold. As for her stomach...
"I can...I can get it killed..." But she knew that she couldn't do that. She'd killed all of her family, before. She was done killing, she couldn't kill her child...
With a deep breath, she picked up the pregnancy tests. There was a fireplace in her room, a warm fire currently crackling to keep out the cold. She opened the door, thinking to herself, stepping into her room. When she lifted her head, her eyes were met by the sight of her husband.
Touketsuki Yakedo was standing in her room, face in a mild scowl. His hands were crossed behind his back, in a sort of nonchalant fashion, a roll of paper held in his fist. When he caught Serori in his eyes, he turned towards his Saiyan wife. Serori realised that the pregnancy test was visible in her hand, too late. By the time she had moved it behind her back, Suki had already seen it.
"M-my lord...what a pleasure it is to see you." Serori stammered, obviously unsettled. The look that Suki was giving her was disquieting, unhappy. He turned his full body towards her. In his hands were a few pieces of parchment, rolled and somewhat crumpled. The insignia of the GSF could be seen by Serori on what she assumed to be the bottom, sticking out from behind Suki.
