There was no pain, there was not cold, there was simply the moment. When Eric had closed his eyes, he was down a wing and with a hole in his chest, as they opened now, he could see nothing but lush fields all around him... Lush fields of clouds?
Blinking softly, Eric shifted... He was standing up? Everything was all... Wrong it felt. He was slain on Planet Vegeta, but some how he was standing before a new area, his armor of his homeland upon his body, his wings intact and ready for use. Of all things, he was fine and dandy and ready to move on his normal day.
"What happened? I know for sure I died." He says out loud, looking around and a man stepping towards him. Blue skinned and with a single horn on his head, wearing what looked to be a suit and holding a clip board in his hands.
"Welcome to the Heavens. Name please?" He asks, opening a folder on his clip board and humming as he waited for Eric to respond.
"E-Ericnox." He said, rather unsure of what was going on.
"Ahh, here you are. Right up to Heaven. We have been expecting you. I'm sure the others will be excited to see you."
"Others? What others?" He asks, the man simply pointing to a group of people stepping through the walls of light that seemed to be along one of the clouds. "Mother! Father!"
Before him stood a pair of winged figures, his father and mother, both wearing the armor they died in, but looking lively and ready to do anything. They embraced their son, holding him close and smiling at him.
"We have been waiting for you. We didn't expect it to be this soon however. Cut down so young. I'm sorry my dearest." His mother whispers, letting him go and smiling some at him. "But with you being here, its time to start learning things. Rumor has it, it's possible to return to life if the Kaio's wish it. So... We want it to be you, the hope of our people."
With that, they both step back, looking at him and smiling some. "We only showed you what you needed in order to survive, now we plan on making things real for you. Showing you the true depths of your powers... As well as teaching you some things we didn't wish to before."
Ericnox nodded at this, following as they took to the air and leading him away from the main arrival spot. This was going to be the start of the hardest training he had ever faced, and he knew it was going to be worth it.
"Step one will be introducing you to the older generations of our race, and showing you what is true, and what isn't. We have learned some very interesting things while we have been here, and if it all plays out, you my son, will be able to expand on what we have learned and use it when you return to our home world." His father explained, keeping pace with them as he spoke.
Eric grinned wide, happier to see his family after all this than anything else. The words could have been nothing but nonsense and he wouldn't have cared a bit. It felt like no time had passed before they reached their destination, a large open courtyard with several members of his race speaking with other races, talking and laughing as though they had been old friends from day one.
Landing with his parents, he walks with them towards a winged man sitting upon a chair, wide wings extending out his back. He was dressed in fine clothing that Eric had not seen before, and when his mother spoke, he realized why he had not seen it.
"My king, this is your descendant... Ericnox." She said, bowing softly as the man looked over the winged warrior.
"Good. Start his training right away... It's time for the old ways to be shattered." He said, standing up to walk closer to the boy.
(And done... For now.)
