The days were growing shorter, and the Grand Kaioshin knew the time was coming that he would be forced to face his own decisions. The day had finally come that the treaty between the demon realm and the Kaioshin's would come to an end, and that would mean something terrible. He had not revealed his past dealings to the Kai's he so begrudgingly called brothers. No back in the time of the other Kaioshin's things were not so simple. He remembered a time when the Kai's had far less personality when it came to their jobs. A time before Son Goku, and a time long before even some of the eldest Kai's. Kensei had been around for far longer than any of the current magistrate. His own mortality was frightening to some, and yet there was still one being stronger.
Fukushu
He could sense it, as he thought of the encounter Fukushu the bastard was drilling a hole, a small portal between Heaven and the Demon Realm. Of course this was not an attack...he was returning to discuss terms. Unfortunately Kensei knew this would not end as well as it had those many years ago. He had made many sacrifices to keep the war from getting out of hand, and if it had not been for Kensei's actions, there is no doubt the realms of all worlds would be under the iron fist of the dark Fukushu.
He needed to call upon the Kai's, he needed them to know what was to come and what to expect...he needed to come clean about what he had done those many years ago.
He needed to tell them that the end was coming, and that as far as he knew...there was nothing that could be done.
Each kai had been summoned, a quick messenger marked with a silver cloud moved quickly to find them, and each one would need to arrive promptly. Death would certainly follow if they were not decisive.

Shin was in the demon realm meditating when a horrible sensation shot through his body. It was the most evil thing he had ever felt in his life. Shin tried to shrug them off as they were making him paranoid, but he started hearing spats that a Kaioshin was in the demon realm among them. Shin knew that it wouldn't be long before he was uncovered as the Kaioshin so he would have to simply make his escape while he still could. Shin quickly and easily made his way out of the arena and towards the portal wall. It was closed, but him being the spell weaver that he is, he wouldn't have much trouble getting back to heaven. "Bless my journey and keep me from harm With light of protection and amethyst charm My path be straight and free from strife Many more adventures left upon my life Open now oh dreadful gates For I am no true being of hate"
A bright glow came from the wall and shin simply stepped through to the beauty that is heaven. As he came through there was an individual marked with a silver cloud that seemed to be waiting for him. He looked at Shin not in shock nor in anger. Shin's jaw dropped as he knew what the silver cloud represented. It was the Dai who was calling, but why? Shin took a nervous gulp and exhaled deeply. The individual vanished as if in thin air and Shin with him. They reappeared and all Shin saw was the Dai in all his holiness. Shin spoke not a word to the Dai and simply sat down where he appeared. Indian style he sat knowing to remain silent. He would wait for the Dai to address him and patiently he would do so. It wasn't everyday that an ordinary kaioshin gets called upon by the Dai himself.

The sexiest Kai in the universe looked up from his reading and to the cloud that had just so noisily burst into his reading chamber. Sure it was a comic book, and sure it was one he had written about himself, but it was still very important literature and he hated being interrupted. But then he noticed the color of the cloud. Silver. Dai Kensei’s messengers were silver clouds, but what could the Dai Kaioshin need at this hour?
Jishin got up and let his bathrobe drop to the floor, pulling on his blue flowing pants. He would see to the Dai Kaioshin, and hopefully be back in time before his students woke up. He had no idea of the danger that was about to be revealed to him. How could he?
Grabbing onto his own shoulder, he threw himself through time and space towards where Kensei was. He bowed low before his lord, noticing the lesser Kai Shin had was already there. Were the other Kai’s summoned as well? This may be more severe than he first had thought, what could warrant a meeting of all the kais, the last time they had all been summoned together was the events of Suki ripping a hole into heaven. He hoped it was nothing like that. He was wrong.

CLICK.
The pink protector and all his rotundness appeared before Kensei, a troubled look adorning his face. How rarely the silver spirits traversed the vastness of Other World gave weight to their sudden presence. As soon as the sterling nimbus came within view of his little planet, a million thoughts rushed through his mind. What could it be? Was Suki causing trouble in the depths of Hell once more? Did his former soldier reform the demonic ranks for another assault? As it neared, his thoughts became darker and darker. Was this a calling to all the cardinal kaioshin, or only him? If it was only for him, then that meant something dark was on the horizon for his quadrant. If it was a calling to all the cardinals then it meant the same for the whole universe. Heiwa could barely stand the thought of either.
“Master.”
The Nothern Kaioshin said as he bowed slightly out of the greatest respect. Turning to Jishin, the ultra-muscular super sexy Mr. Other World, Heiwa nodded. A lesser kai was amongst them, something the pudgy kai thought was quite out of the ordinary. Kensei rarely held an audience and when he did it was usually only for the cardinal kaioshin. Perhaps it was a sign that he would fill the vacant position amongst the cardinals. Regardless, ever the kind soul, he also nodded to the one known as Shin.
He was unsure of what was to come but given Kensei’s darkened aura, it couldn’t be good. In fact, it could only be awful, something which only furthered Heiwa’s anxiety.

Seclusion had been Kasai’s one request after the Cardinal Kaioshin’s encounter with the Icer lord Touketsuki Takedo. He had without thinking about what he was doing acted in Heaven’s defense in a manner that brought shame to Dai Kensei’s name and all of his students. All it took was thirty seconds and one little magically enhanced lie. This was by far an action punishable by being ccast out and being branded a Makaioshin. After all Kasai had broken one of the central tenants to the order and his friends, his brother, knew that what he had done was almost beyond redemption. So he took to his planet, not speaking to his brothers, not venturing off to find new students. All he did was sleep and occasionally glance out at the universe that was now empty without Vegeta.
It all changed when he noticed a silver cloud arrive at his planet. It was one of Dai Kensei’s clouds, it was strange to see one here especially since it had not been that long ago since the kais had met. The cloud informed him that he was needed at the Dai Kaioshin’s request. Surely this was the day that he had been dreading; it was going to be the day that Kasai was forced to step down as Western Kaioshin for breaking the cardinal rule. The cloud disappeared and Kasai closed his eyes, visualized the area Dai Kensei was in, and Blinked out of existence.
When he Blinked back into existence he was standing in front of Dai Kensei, he took a deep breath and then a deep bow followed. Kasai nearly split in half at the degree of the bow but when he rose again he noticed Jishin was already there waiting patiently along with the lesser Kai Shin. Then off to his left was the rotund Heiwa waiting as well. He gave a slight nod to all three before descending into a floating cross legged Indian position. The mood was dark and could only signal something bad to truly come forth. The Western Kaioshin closed his eyes and waited for the meeting to start at which point no doubt his fate would be decided by all those that were there.

No greetings or words of casual conversation. Good. The only one muttered was from their norther Kaioshin, and even it was weak with anxiety. They understood the severity of a cardinal meeting. The last one they had held was at the request of their northern Kai in regards to simple living world threats. The problem had been easily resolved and as many would remember Kensei had been rather displeased with being involved in the process. His summoning them was nothing short of dire urgency. Wasting no time in welcoming them to the meeting, shaking hands, or really doing anything other than nodding as they each showed their own form of respect among arriving. Kensei would dive right in, wasting no time with pleasantries and without sugar coating the situation.
"Brother's in holy unity. In my time as grandest Kaioshin we have faced nothing of true horror. We have seen many nations rise and fall, we have watched tragedies, and prevented simple disaster. Now I fear we have encountered a problem that dates each and every one of us. A danger that our ancestors were unable to rectify that we must now prevent."
For most literally the first time in his entire life, the Dai took a deep breath, exhaling in what could easily be described as a motion of apprehension. His attitude portrayed the lightest undertone of a feeling never once before felt by the Kai.
Fear
"You all know that the Demon Realm is a place that we do not hold any command...Have you ever wondered why that is?"
When each kai took command, their predessesors had explained that Demon World held its own hierarchy, and that the Kai's were not permitted to enforce law and order within the realm. Yet never once had it been explained to them why that was. Dai Kensei had in fact had it explained to him, under the assertion that he would never reveal it to his underlings unless it became necessary...it was necessary.
"Nearly ten thousand years ago our ancestors were posed with a threat greater than any we had seen before. A demon by the name of Fukushu... It is unknown as it what prompted his actions, but unprovoked he moved from the demon realm and forcefully caused unmentionable chaos throughout all realm's, living and dead. The dai at the time was forced into less than desireable circumstances, and was forced to break the greatest of cardinal law...he granted the demon world the right to be its out outstanding area, with no rule from our realm what so ever. This did quell the demon...unfortunately the treaty that was signed has ended and no doubt within the coming days we will be confronted by Fukushu. I would simply sign over Demon realm once more...but I fear he will not be satisfied with that."
He would not explain further, surely his fellow kaioshin's could piece together what he was implying. Fukushu would likely want more, as was the case with most rulers whom held whatever they wanted and stood unopposed. Kensei however was not his predessesor, and would not be so easily dominated.
"This is why I have summoned you all. We will be going to war... true horrific war. If we are to succeed we will need whatever we can get our hands on. That means that all of your current students will need to be ready to aid, and we should also seek out the highest powerlevel within our realm to come and aid. Recentely a soul entered our realm with a power level of over four million...This power while still less than Fukushu...would at least marginally stand a chance. When he arrives we will expect the worse, and I will engage him in combat...Know that if I am to fail... That the entire universe, and every realm it touches will be in grave and hopeless danger"
With the worst out of the way instructing his underlings would be the easiest part. They would likely have questions which Kensei would answer to the best of his knowledge, but for the first time since his training, Kensei was not fully equipped with the answers.
"There are three jobs. The first will be to recruit the strongest powerlevel within the realm of the dead. The second will be to greet Fukushu and his guest...I am told he always brings a guard. The group that greets Fukushu will separate him from his guest, and will distract him so that he cannot aid the demon when we begin combat. The third job...will be to aid me in the fight against the demon...I would take this horror on myself but indeed his strength is far greater than my own."

The words hung in the air as Kasai carefully analyzed each little bit of what Dai Kensei had spoken to the group of three cardinals and most likely soon to be fourth. War. Something that the Kaioshin’s had not openly waged in so long that many of the kais had stopped training all together and rather opted to focus on spiritual enlightenment. Kasai had always found this to irk him but chose to hold his tongue. After all he found his own enlightenment through training and working to be the strongest of the kaioshins he was in no position to force the others to his own style. But as Dai Kensei spoke his words were filled with something he had never heard from the kaioshin.
Fear.
Dai Kensei feared what was coming. Similarly to what Kasai had feared what was coming from this meeting not knowing that his fate would not be determined here but rather the fate of the entire universe. Yet Kasai could not help but shirk the feeling that he was somehow escaping his fate for breaking one of the cardinal edicts that was set down to him. Something had to remedy this situation and there was only one known true course of action that made sense.
“Dai Kensei, allow me the honor to fight beside you against Fukushu. I know that the others will protest my desire to fight beside you. They will cite the reason being that I cannot be considered for that honor for violating one of our cardinal edicts as Kaioshins. I will not deny these allegations as they will no doubt be true but to my brothers allow me to ask you what other task I am suited for? I have never been gifted with words and we know the person as to who Dai Kensei refers to in Hell. Do any of you believe that he will listen to a single word I say? Then when it comes to battle besides Dai Kensei I am the most gifted in battle and power, this is not my ego talking this is fact. So placing our strongest fighter against the weaker opponent does not make sense. This is my case to fight Fukushu. I will fight him with ever grain of strength in my body and only one of us will be able to walk away. I will not allow myself to lose.”
Kasai’s words were solemn. They lacked his normal charisma and bravado. They were mere statements. His brothers would find it hard to argue against him as everything he had stated was true. There was no way he would allow them to deny him this chance to redeem himself even if it meant dying in defense of Dai Kensei.

Kensei had been informed by the past events. He had nearly been pulled to action himself, and yet had been able to keep his hand steady. The reason for that was Kasai's poor execution, and although none of his fellow Kai's had ratted him out, the fact was the Kensei had seen, and heard, and felt everything that had been done. Kasai's guilt was leading him to this decision, however Kensei saw more than a simple guilt trip behind his actions.
"Kasai, your responsibility will be twice fold. You will stand by my side against the demon Fukushu upon his arrival. Perhaps our dual efforts will be enough to suppress the beast."
Actually Kasai was the most realistic option for this job. His abilities most mirrored the Dai and no doubt together they would make a reasonable team. Jishin was far more hands on, and Heiwa's attacks were too large and showy. Shin was also unfortunately too new to understand the ramifications of such a fight, so it was important that one of the other's stand by his side.
"Your second job... and the one you will accomplish first... will be recruiting Touketsuki Yakedo to our aid."
No doubt a tall order. Kasai had been the one to mentally wash the Icer of his rage. Unfortunately no other Kai could accomplish this goal because Kensei was not so willing to allow that sort of behavior to continue. What Touketsuki was doing was wrong indeed, but his Kaioshin's have other means of working things out, especially Kasai whose charismatic approach could have ended the conflict without violence or mental ability.
"We have nothing to offer him except the truth, which you will provide for him. Right your wrong, and clear your consious. Then at the very least even if he denies aiding us you will be mentally fit to aid me"
With that strategy in place he turned to the other Kai's who were likely anxious to hear what was going to be given to them, and although the job may not seem like much, it was monumentally important.
"The rest of you will greet them. Shin, you will be the first person Fukushu and his guest meet, you will bring them to my planet, and I will take Fukushu from there. Jishin and Heiwa will be prepared to aid when and if the time comes. Kasai and I will relocate with Fukushu -That is assuming Kasai is back from his trip into HFIL- and we will do as the universe commands of us"

Shin sat there as the other Cardinal Kaioshin arrived. He knew that they felt he was out of place, but he too received a silver cloud messenger. They were quite quiet as the seriousness was floating through the air. No one said a word as the Dai spoke. His words were far beyond heavy and Shin feared that fear crept from those heavy words of the Dai. After he spoke, Kasai jumped up and volunteered his services to meet this terrifying threat. The Dai simply allowed this to act as his punishment for breaking a cardinal rule.
The Dai then spoke once more, and this one was for Shin.
"The rest of you will greet them. Shin, you will be the first person Fukushu and his guest meet, you will bring them to my planet, and I will take Fukushu from there. Jishin and Heiwa will be prepared to aid when and if the time comes. Kasai and I will relocate with Fukushu -That is assuming Kasai is back from his trip into HFIL- and we will do as the universe commands of us"
Shin's eyes widened as the Dai's words rang through his ears.
"Wait...Me? Why me? I'm just a lesser kaioshin among the cardinals. I am honestly confused as to why I'm even here. Granted I'm one of the stronger kaioshin's, but I am no cardinal. I believe that job would be better suited for one of them. I can amass the lesser kaioshin to stand and fight if necessary, but to meet both threats at the same time? Please help me understand why I am here among the great kai's."
Shin was confused and actually terrified of what the Dai had said. How was he too be face to face with a monster such as Fukushu? That no doubt had to be the evil that he felt not too long ago. Shin was now in the forefront of the situation whether he liked it or not.

Kensei could not waste time arguing with Shin, for all he knew Fukushu was already on his way, and that would only mean that their time would be limited to however long the cardinals could stall.
"Kasai, waste no further time. Leave now and see Yakedo aligned with us if it can be done. The rest of you know your jobs, be ready...for they approach"
Nodding he would step forward towards Shin whom was obviously confused as to why he was here at all. There would be no further confusion however, Kensei knew exactly what brought the young Kai into their meeting.
"Shin, your time in the demon realm is no coincidence. You entered at a time where the barrier was weak, and yet you were the only Kaioshin other than myself and the Cardinals capable of waltzing through the portals into the deeper realm. Your talents have been noticed and with the passing of our most recent cardinal the position is being handed down to you. Perhaps now is not the time for celebration, or self doubt"

Shin contained his fear and confusion as best he could. He knew that the Cardinal Kaioshin's along with the Dai could sense it, but he refused to let it show. He wanted to be as composed, respectful, and hardened as possible ready for anything that the Dai requested. The Dai Kensei gave Kasai the order to leave and looked at Shin. Shin stood attentively and listened respectfully.
Upon hearing the words that the Dai had spoken, Shin's was no longer filled with fear, but a sense of duty. It was as if the Dai washed all fear from his body and clothed him in bravery and honor with simple words. Shin was now the Eastern Kaioshin and it was a title he intends to wear proudly. However, Shin would not have time to celebrate as there was a dire matter at hand.
"Dai Kensei, you honor me with your words and my position. I must admit, I would not have been able to cross without your help or any of the Cardinal Kaioshin for that matter. I called upon your name along with theirs and it always gave me the added boost I much needed. I was under the impression that all kaioshin could do as such, but your words tell me otherwise. I feel I have been linked with you and the Cardinal's all along.
Shin took a deep breath as he glanced around to look at all of the High Kaioshin. He was now a High Kaioshin himself and he was determined to do all that he could to quell back whatever comes. Shin looks the Dai in his eyes as he inhaled deeply one last time.
"I am Shin Buriketsai, High Kaioshin of the Eastern Quadrant. My mission is to reserve peace, kindness, love, and all else that is pure. I will meet Fukushu and his lackey...alone. This is my job and I intend to do it with no problems nor fear. I will be the first lone shining light to stare into that dark abyss. Fukushu is for you and Kasai... Fukushu's lackey... he's mine.
Shin spoke no more words for he had said all that was needed. Without knowing the power of Fukushu's loyal demon, Shin wanted to do battle. Shin was determined and almost as fearless as Kasai. He no longer showed or expressed the fear lesser kaioshins would. It was as if his ascension into High Kaioshin standing changed his whole being. Shin's facial expression held a firm serious look as he looked the Dai directly in his eyes. Shin now waited to either be dismissed or for the Dai to speak to him once more.

He had been gifted what he had wanted. The opportunity to fight beside his mentor in the midst of the battle. Something that he had never been awarded before but it came at a heavy price. A very heavy price to the Western Kaioshin. He had to go and make his peace with Touketsuki Yakedo. The very being that he had lied to in order to protect Heaven from his unfurled rage from his wife still being alive, Kasai had acted in a manner that was despicable and one that he would no doubt never repeat if he thought on his actions. But he hadn’t thought on his actions before he acted instead he did something that ate away at him.
With a slight bow of his head he acknowledged the price that he would pay for his actions now. It now fell on him to recruit Touketsuki Yakedo, the former tyrant of the World Trade Organization, to their side as he was the only being in Other World capable of helping the Kaioshins bridge the almost insurmountable power gap. However it was no easy task. He would have to come clean on his lies and face the possibility of death in the realm of H.F.I.L. Kasai though holds his bow for a moment as he mutters a small prayer under his breath. Then he lifts his head.
“I will do as you ask Dai Kensei.” Turning to Shin he lets a small smile finally show on his face the first in a very long time. “Nice job kid, it is well deserved. Just make sure you stick around longer than our previous Eastern Kais,” Kasai jabbed before with the close of his eyes he Blinked out of existence. He could not wait on his journey as Fukushu made his way towards their beloved home. Meanwhile the Western Kaioshin had to go face a monster of his own. His own lies and deceit.
