Eva had fought with her weights on and she had seen how much they slowed her down. She needed to be faster. That was the goals of today’s training session. Stepping into the Super Dome she found it empty again, the large structure seeming to be devoid of life more often than it was in use. Moving towards the center of the structure the android think for a moment on the best way to push herself. Last time she had fought against a human with power close to hers and although he had proven formidable she had been the victor in that match.
Perhaps multiple opponents would be the best way to increase her speed, especially if they were all equal to her in speed. ”Give me three opponents equal to me in power and have them try their hardest to hit me. Allow them to use Ki blasts or try and strike me, but make sure there is no pattern to their attacks.”
Quickly complying three figures appear around her. Having not specified what race or gender the computer produces vaguely humanoid creatures, but gives them no definitive features. Standing an equal distance apart they look to be mirror images of each other, all three of them in the same stance. Eva was ready, her sensors trying to determine which one is going to move first, listening and watching for the first sign of movement.
The simulator does not take long before making it decision, all three rushing in towards her. Knowing she needed to remove herself from between the three her legs kick off the ground, a bukujutsu enhanced jump taking her right up and over them as they close in. All of them pivot in unison and come for her again. Backing up now the android is able to watch them, the one towards the middle suddenly stopping as it launches two Ki blast towards her.
The blasts head for either side of her, but are slightly wide in an obvious attempt to keep her from moving in either direction while the other two rush straight for her. Grinning, Eva reverses her direction again heading towards the approaching forms, meeting their strikes with perfectly timed blocks. Her arms work frantically to deflect the blows sent in at her, her computer controlled reactions not wasting a bit of movement. In the middle of their next attacks the two suddenly pull off to the side, a beam of energy streaking towards her from the upraised palms of the third.
She had been foolish to focus only on the two of them, especially with the simulator in control of their actions, able to sync their movements and tactics perfectly. There was no time to dodge the blast, the android only able to bring her arms up in front of her to absorb as much of it as she could. When it hits her arms it didn’t even the power to knock her backwards, but that had not been the point of this exercise after all. It was suppose to be a test of her speed, and her aggressiveness had gotten her into trouble.
Lowering her arms the three figures stood in place all looking at her, even if they didn’t have any eyes, she could tell their attention was on her. Taking a couple of steps back she steadies herself, ready for them to come at her again.
Just like before they do not wait long before charging her, spreading out as they close in. Unlike before Eva does not charge into them, she instead turns and runs. With sensors all over her body she didn’t need to actually look at them to sense their Ki and know where they were. However, she did need to glance back occasionally to see if a blast was headed in her direction. The one off to the left sends a blast at her, the android suddenly changing her direction so the blast goes wide.
More blasts would follow as the android continues to outpace
them, ducking and weaving to avoid being hit by the ranged attacks. It was not easy, the weights making it much harder to suddenly shift her direction. Realizing she was closing on the edge of the arena she launches into the air, using her bukujutsu to rise above the dirt floor. Still the three threw blasts at her, the android having to weave in the air now to avoid being hit. Off the ground she had much more freedom, but even so she found this exercise getting repetitive. Of course she could stay ahead of them if she focused solely on defense, but in what fight would she truly wish to not attack?
Dropping out of the sky the android heads for them again, swerving around the blasts that sent in her direction. Slamming right into the first one Eva takes him to the ground, using his body to absorb most of the blow. Shoving off him she launches herself right back into the air, aided by her bukujutsu yet again. Spinning some her left foot snaps out to catch the second figure in the chest, the force of the blow sending him stumbling away. A fist from the third catchers her in the center of the back. It had enough force behind it to hit her towards the ground herself, but not before she throws her hand back, a quick blast catching that one in the face.
Hitting the ground herself the android was grinning a little as she rolls across the ground. ”End simulation.” Yes, fighting was much better than running. It felt wrong to run, to not try and defend herself. After this little experiment the android did not plan to waste her time learning to run, instead future training sessions would be dedicated to offense. After all if her opponent was on the ground than what did she need to run from?
