Drexx vs Orenji? Or maybe not. (40x grav)

Drexx and Orenji stood across from each other. A position as familiar to them now as their own hands were. They had once again grown as fighters, their ordeal with both Hogg and Annihilus forcing them to grow both as men and as combatants. They had decided to test themselves against each other.

“You ready for this buddy? No holding back.” It went without saying that neither man would be holding back. They had often sparred, neither man holding anything back. This would be the battle that determined who was the better fighter.

Tara appeared sauntering over towards the control panel of the gravity chamber. They were going to fight in forty time the Earth’s gravity. It was another added level of competition for the dynamic duo. Tara touched the console and activated the gravity, and instantly Drexx knew something was wrong. Her entire body tensed up and she turned to look at the duo, her eyes very wide.

I’m so sorry. She said it with such fear, eyes wide with terror. Her body blew apart, and a very familiar high pitched wail filled the entirety of the chamber. Drexx went down and as he hit the floor he saw Orenji go down as well.

He knew very well where he would be when he awoke. The Shadow Realm. Benjin’s Shadow Realm. They were in an open field, nothing but dirt beneath their feet in all directions. Drexx made his way to his feet and was surprised to see Orenji lying on the ground near him. Somehow Benjin had managed to drag the android’s best friend into this was well.

Speak of the devil and he shall appear apparently applied to thoughts here as well, because as if on cue the shadowy form of Drexx’s creator appeared.

“How lovely that you should join us Drexx. Oh look you brought a friend.” He smiled and brought his hands together in mock celebration as he floated over to Orenji.

“What a shame you both have to die… what a pity” he said, but his voice betrayed the words. He felt no shame, nor no pity at having to or wanting to kill them.

He raised his hands and a pillar rose from the dirt, carrying the duo high into the shadowy sky. They flew up until the ground was no longer visible.

“What have you done with Tara” Drexx angrily asked the floating specter. Benjin laughed with glee, bringing his hands together and clutching them to his chest.

“That blue bitch? She’s around here somewhere…” Benjin muttered the last part and looked around. Tara materialized, but instead of standing next to Drexx, she stood near Benjin.

“Tara?” Drexx asked very confused. The hurt in his voice was also evident.

“She’s been reprogrammed. She’s with me now. Isn’t that fun? Doesn’t that just eat at you? oh god I knew it would at me.”

Drexx drew his gun and shot it at Benjin but the blast sailed harmlessly through him. The specter made a ‘tsk tsk tsk’ sound with his tongue.

“You should have known that wasn’t going to work. Now would you let me explain what I expect of you? You remember how a while ago I had you fight those you’ve killed in your life? Well yeah that’ going to happen again. But this time there’s two of you, and even more dead fun to be had!”

“Oh this is going to be fun.” Drexx heard a very familiar voice behind him. He slowly turned to see Boss Hogg staring down at him.

Orenji was standing across from Drexx, inside his gravity chamber. It had been a while since the two had fought each other. They had gotten much stronger, since the last time they fought, so once again it was time to put their new skills to the test.

“You ready for this buddy? No holding back.”

”I was just about to say the same thing to you. Now let’s get this started, I need to get back to Namek.”

Tara appeared sauntering over towards the control panel of the gravity chamber. They were going to fight in forty time the Earth’s gravity. Tara touched the console and activated the gravity. Orenji could feel the pressure of the increased gravity bring his body down. He was able to keep his balance, he looked over at Tara, something was wrong, her body was tense. He looked back at Drexx; clearly he knew what was happening to her.

”I’m so sorry.” Tara said turning her head, starring at both Drexx and Orenji

”What do you mean Tara?”

Orenji watched at Tara’s body exploded, he had no idea what was going on. A very high pitch sound began to fill the room. Orenji looked over to see Drexx on the floor, looking back at him. Seconds later Orenji couldn’t take it and hit the floor as well. Orenji woke up several minutes later, He looked up from the ground and Drexx had already gotten to his feet. Orenji got to his feet and looked around; the sky looked like one giant Shadow. He looked down, dirt was underneath his feet, there was dirt in all directions, no change in surface.

”Drexx what is going on? Where are we and what happened to Tara.”

“How lovely that you should join us Drexx. Oh look you brought a friend.”

Orenji looked at the figure that just spoke; He had never seen him before. The figure looked at him and floated over to his position.

“What a shame you both have to die… what a pity” The figure said

”What do you mean die? Who are you and where have you brought us?”

The figure raised his hands and a pillar rose form the dirt, underneath Orenji and Drexx. The pillar quickly rose shooting the duo into the shadowy sky. Orenji still had no idea where he was or what was going on. He looked over to Drexx; he didn’t seem as confused as him. Maybe Drexx had been here before; if so Orenji hoped he would explain everything soon.

”What have you done with Tara?”

“That Blue bitch? She’s around here somewhere…” Out of nowhere Tara materialized right beside the figure.

Orenji was even more confused than he was seconds ago, why was Tara standing with this figure? The figure went on to explain that she had been reprogrammed, Orenji looked over to Drexx and could see confusion in his eyes. Quickly Drexx took out his Black Midus Gun and shoot the figure. The blasts just went right through the figure, and exploded off in the distance.

“You should have known that wasn’t going to work. Now would you let me explain what I expect of you? You remember how a while ago I had you fight those you’ve killed in your life? Well yeah that’ going to happen again. But this time there’s two of you, and even more dead fun to be had!”

”Uhh, Drexx you are going to have to get me up to speed as to what is going on. What does he mean fight people that we have killed? How would this person possibly know every person that we have come in contact with? An explanation would be great right about now.”

”Oh this is going to be fun.”

Orenji recognized that voice, it sent a chill down his spine. There is no way he could be back, they had blown a hole clean through his chest. Orenji slowly turned around to see Boss Hogg standing behind the duo.

”Crap.”

”Drexx again what is going on here? How is Hogg back, we killed him.”

Hogg’s massive fist wasn’t any less massive in death, and it hurt just the same. It collided with the android’s chest and sent him stumbling back towards the edge of the pillar. He teetered there briefly before falling off. He caught himself with his bukujutsu and flew quickly back up to the top, where Hogg had been peering over the edge. He upper-cutted the boar with great force, sending the large creature tumbling back, the boar fell onto his back with a chuckle.

“You’ve gotten stronger since we last tussled Android.” He wiped the blood from his snout and quickly got back to his feet. He charged the android, who moved quickly out of the way sending Hogg toppling into the abyss.

“I wish it had been that easy last time…” Drexx muttered to himself, only to be tackled. By Boss Hogg. Shadow Benjin laughed as he appeared in a puff of dark smoke. He wagged his fingers at the android chastisingly.

“You really think I’m going to let you win just like that. Your opponents cannot fall of the pillar no more than you can!”

Drexx looked over at Orenji, and Hogg’s fist collided with his face. The air was filled with the cracking sound of Drexx’s jaw.

“Uhh!” the android cried out as he sailed through the air grabbing at the dirt floor of the pillar uselessly until he slipped over the edge again, being flung back up into the air by some unseen force. He landed tumbling across the dirt pillar, getting quickly back up to his feet in his fighting stance.

“Oh this is such fun. But let’s give you a little bit more to do shall we?” With a wave of his hand Arachne appeared, but so much more full of life than Drexx had last seen her. She charged at Orenji, and Drexx lost sight of the two. He had Hogg to contend with. He caught the boars’ massive fist with his forearms blocked. He slid across the ground.

“You’ve gotten stronger android. It’s good to see.” Hogg said with such friendliness and sincerity that it shocked the android. Hogg laughed and lowered his shoulder at the android, launching massive quills at him. Drexx activated his silver shield and the quills bounced uselessly off. He spun and the shield spilt away pulling his gun out in a quick movement.
He fired a blast at the anthropomorphic boar, who caught it between his hands and crushed it, grinding his palms together. He laughed a mischievous laugh.

“You know, Anthropomorphs by nature have no control over energies of that type… but in here…” A massive ball of red energy grew out from between his hands. Drexx’s eyebrows raised, Hogg certainly didn’t have that ability before. With another laugh the beast threw the ball at Drexx, it exploded on impact, sending the android flying off the pillar in a smoking heap.

“If only I had been able to do that while I was alive. You two would never have killed me.” He chuckled again, and then turned to face Orenji and Arachne. Drexx flew back, his flesh still smoking. He super-man punched Hogg across the snout, sending blood dripping out of the boar’s nose.

“You should have stayed dead.” Drexx unleashed his khopesh and shield. Hogg laughed and a battle-axe materialized in his hands, wisps of shadow smoking off of it.

“You will be soon.” He swung the axe at Drexx, who brought up his shield and deflected it. He brought his sword around in an arc and cut Hogg across the side.

“I learned from the greatest sword master himself. You cannot beat me in martial combat.”

“Like hell I can’t.” He pushed his weight behind his axe and smacked Drexx over. He raised his axe, and brought it down ready to cleave into the android’s chest.

Orenji looked on as Hogg charged at Drexx, he was going to run in and help Drexx, but Tara appeared in front of him stopping Orenji. He tried to get around her, but she kept pushing him back, making sure he stayed where he was. There was nothing he could do, he could only watch Hogg fight Drexx.

“You really think I’m going to let you win just like that. Your opponents cannot fall of the pillar no more than you can!”

”Great so even if we throw them off, they are just going to keep coming back. These people have already died once there isn’t a reason to kill them again. I don’t know what I have gotten myself into this time. Drexx it appears whenever I hang out with you, something happens.”[/i]

Orenji chuckled to himself, then looked up at Tara. Her eyes were cold, like there was nothing there. This wasn’t the Tara that has been with Drexx. This person has done something to her, and there might not be a way to get her back. Orenji looked back over to Drexx, who was still fighting with Hogg.

“Oh this is such fun. But let’s give you a little bit more to do shall we?”

Orenji looked at the figure and with a wave of his hand Arachne appeared in front of Orenji. His eyes widened as Arachne immediately charged at him. Quickly Orenji got out of the way of her claw swipe, but she was faster than before. Immediately spinning around, she swiped at Orenji, catching him in the side. Her claws grazing over Orenji’s flesh, the razor sharp claws drew some blood, it ran down his side.

“It is good to meet you again Orenji, but this time our little fight is going to go differently. You see I am not poisoned, so your advantage is taken from you.” She said

”Poisoned? I had no idea, but I knew that there was something wrong with you that day. Arachne there is no reason for this, this violence isn’t worth it. Stop this!”

“You really think she is going to listen to you now Orenji? I am afraid words aren’t going to help you here you are going to have to fight her.” The figure said laughing and with another wave of his hand the anthropomorphic bull that Orenji had fought appeared next to Arachne

The bull turned his attention to Orenji and charged, Orenji quickly went into Great Namek. Doubling in size and charged at the bull. Orenji lowered his shoulder, ramming it into the bulls chest, sending the bull flying back through the air and off the Pillar. Orenji looked at Arachne thinking he had just defeated the bull, but she just smiled at him.

“Do you really think that is going to kill us?” Arachne said

As fast as the bull disappeared over the edge of the pillar, he reappeared next to Arachne. Orenji was confused as to why the bull was back, but had to time to ask. The bull once again was charging at Orenji, slamming into his midsection. Orenji slid across the dirt floor, until a after a few feet applying enough force to stop the bull from sliding him any further. He quickly grabbed onto the bull and threw him aside, then looking around for Arachne, but she was nowhere to be seen.

Seconds later Orenji felt claws pierce his back; a sharp pain ran through his body as he heard Arachne laughing behind him. Orenji tried to spin around and grab her, but she was too fast and pulled the claws out of his back, jumping away. Orenji was once again looking for her, but the bull slammed his shoulder into Orenji’s back. Orenji fell to the floor with great force. Within less that I second the bull was on top of Orenji slamming punch after punch into Orenji’s chest and head.

Managing to block a few punches Orenji created a brief opportunity by blocking a quick left hook given by the bull. Orenji swung his right hand up, smashing it into the side of the bull’s head. The bull fell off of Orenji, and he was able to get back to his feet. Orenji looked around and saw Arachne walking up next to the bull, as he got back to his feet.

“What’s the matter Orenji you having trouble fighting them again? Come on now we all know you can do better than that. If you were this bad I would have never have been able to do this.” The figure said as an exact copy of Orenji appeared next to him and Tara.

”I have no problem fighting them again; I am just not going to be responsible for their deaths a second time. As for your little copy it isn’t going to stop us from getting Tara back and getting the hell out of here.”

Orenji looked back at Arachne and the bull ready to get out of where ever Drexx and him were.

“ORENJI!!! Don’t worry about killing them!!! They’re not real!!!” Drexx said as he struggled against the weight of Hogg’s ax. Drexx’s hands had shot up at the last moment and caught the blade between them, but Hogg was pressing his weight upon the haft, and he was quite a heavy boar. Drexx roared and went into Berserker drive, snapping the blade of the ax from its haft. The stick smacked Drexx in the face, but he rolled out from under it before Hogg fell on his face.

Drexx kip-upped to his feet and shot eye-beams at the bull near Orenji. He had to tell Orenji the things he didn’t know. Orenji had never been to Benjin’s shadow realm before and it seemed that he was mistaking this for the real world. He didn’t… He couldn’t hold back here like he did in the real world. These beings weren’t alive; they were computer programs designed by Benjin… by Shadow Benjin rather.

“Orenji!” The android yelled out even over the sounds of battle. Hogg had made his way to his feet and was advancing on him. The boar ripped two large quills from his back and were wielding them as daggers. The android brought up his shield and was backing towards where the Namekian was standing.

“Don’t hold back, they’re not real! You don’t have to worry about killing them, they’re not alive! This is a computer virus, a program made by my father to test and yes even try to kill me. Somehow you got dragged into it as well, but you can’t afford to hold back!”

Drexx blocked a vicious stab and deflected it off of his shield. He rolled under Hogg’s leg and smashed his shield into the back of them. Hogg fell to a knee and Drexx drop-kicked him onto his face. The level of skill he had increased by was evident, and Hogg couldn’t keep up. He had been much more powerful than the android when they had first fought, but now the tables had turned.

“I don’t know what’s happened to Tara, but we’ll find a way to fix it. We have to beat the challenges he presents to us and then the program ends! From what it sounds like we have to fight the evil people we’ve killed in our journeys.”

A ki blast from Hogg’s mouth caught him in the chest and flew him backwards over the pillar’s edge. He flew up quickly and Hogg caught him around the neck, sliding him along the ground of the pillar. Drexx kicked his leg out and caught Hogg in the knee. He slid next to Drexx and chuckled.

“You’ve gotten better. I’ll admit you have. But you’re still not good enough to kill me.” He brought the spike he had hidden over and stabbed Drexx in the shoulder. Drexx brought his khopesh he had brought out in and stabbed Hogg in the gut. The boar’s eyes bulged and he looked down at the blade in his chest. “Or maybe you are…”

Drexx rolled the anthropomorphic Hogg off of him. That had been too easy. He rose and began walking towards where Orenji and Arachne and the bull were fighting. A rumbling rocked the pillar and Drexx turned to see Hogg transforming into his larger more boar like state. He swore under his breath and began running back towards the transforming boar.

“I’m not done with you yet.” He snorted at the android. They clashed and the boar sent him flying through the air landing hard but managing to turn in time to catch himself. He brought the gun up and shot a blast at Hogg, catching the boar’s charge and tripping him up, sliding and falling off the pillar.

Drexx kept on guard, somewhere Hogg would reform and attack, but where. A tusk caught him in the shoulder and ripped the flesh from it, a deep gash showing through his ripped shirt. He hoped Orenji was holding up well, though he had faith that the Namekian could handle himself, even against two. They had both grown in power immensely. He spun quickly and launched a volley of blasts at Hogg, a few catching him and throwing him off course. He brought his fingers in an arc and a deep gash appeared on Hogg’s chest.

“You can’t win this Hogg. Disperse.” Drexx held up his hands and a large ball of ki formed there. Drexx’s wrecking ball attack. It would blast the boar apart and end his programming. Drexx was offering him the choice to disperse on his own, but deep down he knew that Hogg wouldn’t accept the offer. Hogg held up a finger and a large ball of red ki matching the size of Drexx’s own attack formed.

“Then I’ll take you out with me.” He snorted and grinned. They launched the blasts at each other.
