In darkest depths of the underworld a world of torture exists to mold the darkest hearts and darkest minds towards evil ways and destructive lives. Let the spirits scream for no one will hear them in the black pit. No eye can see that deep. For the world below is covered in shadows.
A woman sat alone in a dimly lit four walled cell, candles hung from these walls, directing light across the room towards her face. A pair of clear red eyes gazed around the room only perceiving a series of black shadows which formed from the lack of light in the other portions of her cell. She sat in a kneeling position with her long arms strung up by a dangling chain in a room filled with foul air. At the end of this chain were a pair of iron metal cuffs clasped to her wrists.
Strands of white hair flowed down her blue gray face as she thought, "I cannot stand this prison... The damn place is corrupting me. The very energy in the air it hurts and I can feel it sink into my sink and stretch and distort it."
Across from her between the long iron bars that separated her from the outside, she could see another cell and another woman in a similar state as her own, strapped to a pair of chains linked to the ceiling, and tainted by the dark air of the prison. They had red eyes like she did and their blue gray skin was stretched thin by the chain connected to their hands. It was a pitiful sight to behold.
"Alexis, is that you?" the older woman voiced. Alexis now looked at her for a moment and nodded.
"Do I know you?" She asked as she gave her a puzzled look.
"Yes, we fought at the last battle with Konstain. My name was Rebecca, but you were probably too young to remember."
Alexis nodded again. "You must trust me on this when I say this, we won't last another thousand years in here due to the torture and energy floating around here. I doubt we'll have many chances to escape, so tonight, I've planned an escape route. Take my place on this route and go. I have much to atone for so you must live in my stead." Rebecca told her.
Suddenly the sound of footsteps could be heard walking down the hallway, a whip cracked and both of them became silent. Heavy breathing could be heard coming from a giant black demon with two horns and red eyes as he came to their cells and opened Rebecca's door.
"Are you the female maggots I'm supposed to beat today? If so you vampires are disgusting, at least to the dumb humans in the universe. I'll make you a deal. You give up on wanting to still be vampires and this awful Makaioshin air and the attitude we've given you thus far will stop." the demon cocked an eye as he raised his whip up, walked in, and lashed it out towards Rebecca. Alexis watched in a calm manner as the leather end struck her friend's knee, something knew she would continue to get a beating if she did not answer.
Rebecca kept silent but continued looking straight at the demon now in her cell.
--
This was one of the earliest memories Alexis could remember of her time in the other world she had been in. On that day, she had watched as the demon continued to whip Rebecca into submission. The act had nearly killed her and she remembered his words when he was done, "You're next..."
She did not know why, but the demons in the other world had wanted every last person they had gotten to change from who they were into a demon. Their were relatively select few who were not tainted by Makaioshin power, unless they themselves were equally as evil and were powerful. Not wanting to find herself in the same situation she had grabbed the same demon by the legs when he cam around to visit her with her feet, knocked him to the floor and had managed to take his weapons. Using his whip she had run through the corridors of the cells around her until she found a room with staffs. By that point, other demons had caught word of her escape and chased her as soon as she had taken one for herself. They did not go far in chasing her for they cornered her in a dilapidated kitchen and tried forcing her to surrender.
She had kept them back with her whip, but only long enough to charge her energy through her staff. She could not use her use her own blood to fight, for she was very weak, but with this energy somehow did the oddest thing, she opened a portal to another place and fell through. Instead of landing on Earth though she landed in a space where a group called the Neejara ruled. They had helped her fight off the demons, but in return put her through a test to find out her combat skills. Her abilities pleased them and they told her to join them. She had told them no and since then had run to the lowest depths of their home named Epoch Star. A giant space station which could threaten the universe.
Here she became an outcast and here is where she feasted to regain her strength. It was not much, but slowly over time she felt she could return to her former self and become even stronger than before. She needed to do so, after all, those who knew her were all dead, and in their deaths she had somehow regained life. A life, which was tainted by the power of demons for her ears were permanently pointy and her skin an awful blue gray color. The very color of many Makaioshins, a color which displeased her for her jailer had skin like that and he had killed a friend. She had no idea what happened to him, but promised if he or any other demon showed up to bother her again they would all die.
