As a foreword, this character will require a bit of discussion with admins, as I intend to give him a few unique twists that need approval.
:Name:
Fudotatakai ("Fudo" for short)
:Race:
Makaioshin (Technically human, but for all intents and purposes, his abilities are that of a Makaioshin)
:Gender:
Male
:Age:
22
:Character Theme:
:Aura Color:
Fudo's aura lacks a distinct color. Rather, it is a small field of high-pressure energy that surrounds his body as he powers up. This field forces dirt and debris outward from his feet, essentially repelling loose objects in his immediate vicinity.
:Appearance:
(Awakened Form with Demonic Plating)
In his dormant state, Fudotatakai appears to be a normal human (albeit very muscular). He stands at roughly 6'2'' and has pitch black hair that hangs messily over his face. His eyes are a simple black, lacking any color in his irises, creating the illusion that he has only pupils. He wears basic garb collected from a past opponent, though he removes his top before battle as to not hinder his movements. He travels barefoot and never changes his clothing simply because he only owns one set.
Despite Fudo's seemingly mundane appearance, his body changes drastically when his inner powers surface. When he enters an ascended stage known as "Awoken", his muscles swell and become considerably dense, almost doubling his body weight, and increasing his height by a few inches. His hair fades to a clean white, and his pupils vanish. The most notable change is the formation of various grooves and ridges on his skin, which becomes quite tough and resilient. In this form, it is said that no life form is able to hurt him. Of course, as he is now aware, there are other warriors with powers on par with his own in the world, and he earnestly looks forward to seeking them out.
:History:
Long ago, there existed a powerful Kaioshin. Though his name is taboo, many powerful beings remember his story. He was a just being, one who always judged his subjects with fairness and respect. Not only was he an honorable deity, but his physical strength and cunning in battle were legendary, almost unfathomable by those around him. He was a strong warrior and leader, one who was praised as a champion of war. His legacy lived for thousands of years, though in time, his peers become cautious. The champion was growing increasingly restless, always itching for a new opponent to test his skills, dreaming of the day when he would be able to unleash his full potential. The other Kaioshin saw him as a threat, and acted to forcefully suppress his powers. This proved to be unwise, however, as the mighty warrior resisted the spells that were used against him. He lashed out violently and made his anger known far and wide, eventually starting a great battle with the other supreme authorities. The confrontation was long and grueling, requiring the efforts of every notable fighter in the realm to counter the mighty foe. In the end, the only option left was to seal the angry soul using an ancient technique, banishing him to the deepest layer of the Demon Realm, where his power would be forever locked up. Or so they thought...
Little by little, the sealed demon (now known as "He who Sleeps") began flooding his prison with energy, extending his spirit through every nook and cranny of the Demon Realm in an attempt to transfer his essence into a worthy vessel. The process took many millennia and greatly drained the great demon's power, but eventually, his soul managed to make contact with the mortal world, seeping through a rift in the dimensional barriers separating us from the world of demons. The very soul of He who Sleeps was free to search the plane for a suitable body in order to once again manifest himself. His target? A lonely young man by the name of Fudoshi Takanawa.
The boy was in the peak of adolescence, a fit sixteen-year-old in his second year of high school. Despite his healthy body, his life was full of dread and misery. He had spent his entire life being picked on by local bullies and street punks, and was always getting into fights he couldn't win. He was knocked down, beaten and spit on more times than he could remember. He had no friends, and his peers were simply too apathetic to even care about him. His parents had gotten a divorce simply because they hated the life they were in, and were both too busy fighting to properly raise a child. Fudoshi lived with his alcoholic and abusive father, who barely cared enough for his son to pay for school. To He who Sleeps, this young man appeared to be the perfect candidate.
One day, during another one of Fudoshi's encounters with the local gang of delinquents, he was asked to hand over cash, threatened to be beaten if he didn't. Of course, he didn't even have any money on him, prompting the ruthless group of hooligans to once again assert their dominance. After falling to the ground, the young man suddenly began to cringe as a deep, sorrowful rage filled his body. At that moment, He who Sleeps poured every ounce of his malice and anger into the boy's heart, along with the little power he had left from escaping the Demon Realm. Fudoshi rose to his feet with a look of disdain, delivering a swift punch to the gang leader's gut and knocking him completely unconscious. The rest of the punks fell one by one to the new power their foe was in possession of. After the fight was over, Fudoshi wept. Tears of confused, frightened anger fell to the ground as he ran into the slums to be alone. He was a freak, some kind of monster. He bloodied a dozen young men without any effort at all, and after he realized that, the only thing he could think of was exacting his revenge on the miserable excuse of a man who gave him life.
Fudoshi Takanawa killed his father in cold blood the following day, renouncing his name and calling himself "Fudotatakai".
The demon of a man walked the streets of his home town, tired and hungry, for days. He eventually brought himself to robbing the local restaurant simply to get food. It was no difficult feat for his body, but his mind only continued to rot from his own self-pity and rage. Even with the incredible new power he had, his life was even worse than it was before. Taking his father's life gave him no satisfaction, and only convinced him that he was indeed a monster.
Throughout the next several years, Fudotatakai's mind was numbed to the pain he once felt. Where there was once sorrow, there was only emptiness. Where there was once resentment, there was only rage. Where there was once a life, there was only the thrill of battle. Now, Fudotatakai wanders the countryside in search of those who pose a challenge to him. His only desire is to fight and become stronger. To him, nothing else matters.
:Personality:
There isn't much to be said about Fudotatakai's personality. He is cold, blunt and often angry. Though he is somewhat impatient, he is surprisingly wise when it comes to the matters of battle. He usually won't charge into a fight he knows he can't win, but his pride often gets the better of him. He will often approach an opponent in an honorable fashion, as there is no gain from an unfair fight. The only way to become stronger is to fight a worth opponent, so he seldom wishes to do battle with someone weaker than him. Of course, he will willingly accept any challenge from someone lower than him, as he knows the importance of a difficult challenge. Despite how ill-tempered and stubborn he is, he is by no means evil. Even with He who Sleeps dwelling within him, Fudo is still the naive young man he grew up to be.
:Techniques:
[li]Awaken: In the heat of battle, there are times when Fudotatakai's inner strength can no longer be contained within his mortal body. It is at these times that the demon dwelling within him awakens, filling his body with energy as if by some primal instinct. In this form, his fighting abilities and physical strength are increased to roughly five times their normal values. His appearance changes (as described above) and his combat style becomes ferocious and untamed. The downside to this form is that Fudo's mindset is altered greatly, clouding his judgement and sending him into a sort of frenzy. If he were to control this form properly, he would become a truly frightening opponent for all who oppose him...
[/li][li]Close-In: Due to Fudotatakai's poor long-range capabilities, he is often required to move into melee combat range in order to damage his opponent. For that purpose, he developed this technique, which propels him in whatever direction he desires by firing a burst of his own energy in the opposite direction, similarly to how most fighters fly. While this particular technique can't be sustained in a way that allows flight, it is possible for Fudo to use it in rapid succession, giving each step/jump a boost of speed, which can be utilized in mid-air, giving him a sort of "double jump".
[/li][li]Demonic Armor: Due to Fudotatakai's demonic origin, he was gifted with a set of armored plates for use in battle. While not in battle, these plates aren't worn, and are undetectable by others. At Fudo's command, however, he can summon the pieces of armor to his hands and feet to give him a slight edge in battle. The summoning process can, in fact, be used as a defensive technique, as the process is usually accompanied by a powerful shock wave. This wave of force quickly radiates from Fudo's location, knocking back anyone who is of similar or lesser power within several yards of him. At point blank range, this attack can actually cause considerable damage to those of similar power level to his own. Once the gauntlets are equipped, Fudo's kicks and punches are given an edge by inflicting a small burst of energy each time an attack makes contact.
[/li][li]The Ender: Fudotatakai's signature attack, the aptly named "Ender" is a technique that condenses all of his energy into a single, earth-shattering punch. This punch, though horrendously powerful, comes with a price. Not only does it demand a large portion of energy, but the movement itself is strong enough to tear the tissue of his arm, rendering it almost useless for a while. This move is often used as either a last ditch effort, or as the final blow to an opponent that is unable to dodge it.
