Name: Royd Eris
Race: Human
Sex: Male
Age: 26
Aura Color: Blue
Appearance:
Standing two foot six inches tall, Royd has thin build due to his atrophied condition. While possessing just under normal human muscle mass, he is exceptionally frail, needing a cane simply to stand for extended lengths of time and to walk.
Clothes: When appearing in his holographic form, Royd wears a dark grey jumpsuit and black boots. In actuality the man wears a black space suit with a ridged, flexible neck section supporting the helmet locking ring. His helmet is usually strapped to his side so it is on hand when needed. Additionally Royd carries with him a shining, black cane with a silver handle to aid him in walking and standing.
Attacks/Techniques:
Telepathy; Enables Royd to read the surface thoughts of anyone within visual range as long as they are not also a telepath and able to block his scan. His telepathy can also be used to send words as well, giving Royd the ability of two way mental communication with his target.
Psychic Cloak; Calling on a great deal of his mental power, Royd can use his telepathic talents to either completely remove himself from someone’s perception or alter their perception of him, ie; make himself appear to be their best friend. This technique however only works on one person at a time and is quite draining.
Holographic projection; While onboard his ship, Royd can use his control couch to send out a holographic representation of himself to any part of the ship or even to the surface of any planet the vessel may be orbiting. The hologram though is immaterial and thus cannot interact with solid matter.
Bio: Royd’s story begins more then three hundred years ago on Earth. His grandfather, Hyede Eris, a powerful warrior and scientist in his own right, felt he could no longer help humanity. Gaining immortality through scientific means rather then by use of the legendary Dragon Balls, Hyede set out among the stars to explore the great depths of space. As time wore on and one decade bled into the next, he became bored and listless. The galaxy no longer held any interest for him and so he ventured further out into the universe, but not before leaving behind an heir. In order to do that, the boy would have to have a mother, or so he thought.
Roughly seventy five years ago, prior to departing for the outer rim, Hyede had constructed a mammoth ship to serve as his family’s home. The ship was more of a space going super tanker, containing enough fuel to fly for decades. Believing his heir should be as genetically close to him as possible, the immortal man first cloned himself, altering the clone into the opposite gender. The years of waiting for it to mature naturally took their toll on his patients however and even though he had learned to adore Adara as his daughter, he simply could no longer stand the wait. Although only a teenager at the time, Hyede left Adara the ship and departed for the outer rim.
Embittered by how easily she had been cast aside, Adara hid away from all humanity, loathing them all for what her father had done. She was especially surprised in her few dealings with people, that the cloning process had gifted her with the power of telepathy, a trait that would be passed on to every product of the process. The ship he had built, the Nightflyer although huge and aging, could largely maintain it’s self, needing only to put into port every few decades. With it’s great fuel capacity and decent cargo hauling capability, she used the grand vessel for nearly thirty years to make a living as a trader. Eventually she too became bored, although not for the same reasons as her father. Seeking a companion to bring joy into her life, Adara found Hyede’s notes on the cross-sexed cloning procedure. The equipment was still intact and functioning and seeing it as the way to make the perfect mate, engaged the process once more. As Royd’s embryo developed though, Adara became gravely ill. She set the ship on a course that would take it far out into the uninhabited depths of space while she searched the computer desperately for a cure. In the following months, though her condition worsened, the computer unable to care for her properly. In her final, deranged days, she disappeared into the dark, bowels of the ship and eventually never returned.
The computer, having been programmed to act in the event of Adara’s death, raised Royd as best it could. The day’s were structured with nutritious meals, educational lessons and entertainment. Everything at the computer’s disposal was used to bring the boy up as normally as possible until the day that he would be old enough to command the ship himself, and as a testament to his grandfather’s ingenuity, the computer managed just that. Although nothing could be done about the reduced gravity aboard the ship atrophying Royd’s muscles and skeleton, the computer had managed to bring him up as a stable, well adjusted, if a bit shy individual. Although he too had been gifted with telepathic talents, the only companion he has had has been the computer and it’s semi organic brain did never provided much of an exercise ground for his powers.
Starting Planet: Earth
Zeni: 200
Items: The Nightflyer
Royd’s ship the Nightflyer in an immense vessel measuring well over two thousand feet in length. Built to be a space going home to cruise among the stars, the ship has a gigantic fuel capacity and an efficient propulsion system that enables it to sail for decades at a time without service. Because of its size and mass though the Nightflyer is slow, taking quite some time to traverse the distance between stars. However with that size comes a bonus, opulence. Built atop the rear of the hull like a palace overlooking the lands, is the ship’s residential and control tower.
Housed within the tower are the palatial living quarters that at one time were home to Royd’s mother and grandfather. Although well maintained by the service droids, the emptiness of the grand surrounds leaves the place feeling much like a tomb. Even the grand hall with it’s artificial sky-scape ceiling and long disused pipe organ has the feeling of an empty temple.
